I like bigger inlays on the fretboard so you can judge where you need to go and are by sight easier for really fast and accurate playing.. blocks are the best to me...with a thin neck is a must... Nice playing as usual for you Maximus

Just ordered the Violet Burl Monsoon a few days ago $250.00 to my door, should be here tomorrow. I have heard nothing but praise for these great revies on UA-cam and from people I know that bought one or checked them out at NAMM. I really wanted the resin and wood but they only do them with a trem I prefer a hardtail.

I see what they did. They wanted to make a Balaguer copy. The headstock looks very similar. If it came in left handed, I’d buy it. Hell, I bought a Jackson Dinky JS32 for about the same price and I don’t regret it.

Cool guitar! Looks and sounds very cool! I love the 3 way switch one knob kind of eletronics! 2 humbukers are perfect for me! Usually I prefer floyds on superstrats, but I prefer fixed bridges over tremolos!

Bought one when they were first reviewed by @thebaldshredder. Definitely a decent price. The frets are awesome even if not ss. The one thing I didn't like about it is that the saddle screws used to adjust string height are too long and rough so they kind of tear up your hand when resting on the bridge. I bought a set of different size one to replace them so hopefully that fixes the problem.

I am a non musician but have heard enough stories of so called beginner guitars with a whammy that won't stay in tune. Leaving that out saves the time for playing and lot of frustrations from the young guy or girl.

Very interesting! Will be suggesting this to a few friends looking to get into playing guitar. I'm mostly a bass player and just started playing guitar in August. Got a Fender Squier Tele as my first guitar, not bad quality, then for Xmas my Fiancée and her sibling all put in to get me a Firefly Pure Series Strat (The Purple one). The Firefly is honestly better quality than the Squier. The setup wasn't as good, but I fixed that in about 30 minutes.
It's amazing how good these guitars are for the price. They aren't quite on par with my $900 Schecter C-5 Bass from 2008, but they are getting there. I may have to try some of the basses from these budget lines and see how well they play!

Those of you who absolutely need a tremolo to abuse, you can throw a Virtual Jeff on this for around 500 bucks. No routing holes in the guitar, fairly easy install. So all in.... under 750

Looks like a very solid platform for me to make a monster shred paintbrush. Planning to grab this in the matte black with gold hardware and replace the bridge with a hipshot, tuners with some grovers and the pickups with either some duncan black winter or some bare knuckle warpigs. And a new but obviously while I’ve got it ripped apart. Maybe take a gander at the pot(s?) as well.

Of the budget guitars demo'd, I must say this one seems to be one of, if not, the meanest sounding. Definitely has some mojo. Like you pointed out, that hardtail with those pickups seem to make an excellent combo.

I'm down with the first model that comes with, as you mentioned, SS frets, and a thinner neck. A little bit of contour wouldn't hurt either, and I would be willing to trade the maple top for a solid color in order to get all that and still keep the price down.

I bought one and it’s ridiculous good for the money tuned it one time played for an hour and on stomp tuner was still perfect tune after playing lamb of god riffs. Sounds really nice clean too has insane tone for what you wouldn’t expect in this price range…frets are heaven I’ve never played extra jumbo frets they’re life changing wow n great videos you are so inspiring bro

I got the green burl Monsoon it is really nice but to make it play great i had to level the frets the first fret was really high and about 5 others in deferent spots. If you can do this yourself its a great guitar. If not you should buy a fret rocker a leveling beam and a crowning file. Then with a little practice you can make any guitar you get play awesome.

I actually bought this and $240.00 does not make it better than a $150 one. The frets weren't seated properly. Even after tapping them in the frets were uneven and I had to spend hours sanding, crowning and polishing them. I had to take off a lot of material from the lower frets. The finish had buffer scuffs all over that actually dulled the appearance. The volume pot only works though half its travel. If you turn the guitar upside down the bridge pick up cuts out so it has a short in it some where. I will be doing a full upgrade on this guitar including tuners, electronics and pick ups. I could have and should have returned it but I do like the guitar. The neck itself feels great and plays pretty fast after the fret job. I can buff out the buffer scuffs so looks wise its not bad. I should also add I had to actually sand some of the thickness off the heel of the neck because the bridge saddles were at there highest level and the strings were too high off of the pick ups even after adjustment. Don't buy this unless you want to put a lot of work into it.

i have a blue one, the profile is strange its flat on the back but still has rather thick contours on the top and bottom.. basically its a fat neck that has been sanded flat in the middle on the back. i would like it thinner as well.
