Also some this video may feature products that were sent for review at no cost or reduced cost to the channel, at the time these products were presented, it was disclosed. Keep in mind that in no way, shape or form, this influenced my opinion, I'm always going to offer both the pros and cons of any product we feature or use and leave the decision to purchase such product to you, yes you, you decide.
Need to move the battery into the dry storage under the seat to move the weight forward. If that doesn't do it move it to the front storage area. It's just a balance problem. It was digging in moving in reverse. If that doesn't fix it, it's a design problem and either don't buy or live with it knowing the short comings of it. If you are using a 50# leader it was a Cuda that cut the line, or a small shark.
The rear was never an issue for me since I don’t go fast in reverse. I also put Blocks(starboard and sealed edges) on the sides of seat hatch. Water doesn’t get past them. Basically a wall to cutoff the rear section.
What motor you have on yours?
@@AliexFolgueira Tohatsu 6hp.
There's this guy...then i just watched a vid of a different guy take his 25 miles offshore catching fish and not complaining.
I'm real
If I fish from a boat I want to fish not swim, to wet !
Try this, you need a bungee and a nylon cord. Loop the cord over the bar at back and tie a loose loop around the shaft of the lower motor leg. bring the cord to the front. hook the bungee to the cord so it pulls the cord up to the top by the motor controls when the motor is down. Then pull the cord. The motor will be lifted to the bar. The cord will slide down the shaft . When you release the cord the motor will drop down to running position and the bungee will pull the cord up away from the prop.
Couldn't find a Solo in Oregon so Couldn't buy one. Good thing, its cold here 42 degrees water temp. My Old Towne keeps me dry and its probably easier to deal with the 45lb thrust motor than the expense and hassle of an outboard motor. Good video.
I Would Extended Out The Cross Bar Out so It wont Interfere With The Propeller From The Motor
yup and it will be easy to do
Yep. Risers under the rear bar attachments and you’re good to go.
That shakes on the water way more than my Titan X
it is a titan bro haha, how is the model search going?
You should call Tom...the designer .....
I almost bought one of these. That's too much water coming in for me. I can't imagine using that in the winter up here. Looks like NT300 pushed it well. Mine just arrived. Can't wait to use. Is yours the standard shaft or long shaft?
the small shaft is 21in something, the other over 24, i have the smallest one, any small fast watercraft gonna be wet for sure, hope you get the nk300 soon, thats what i wanna see on the pa haha, hey do you think the 360 was a failure or not? is it worth the extra $1100?
Cuánto pesa la batería, ese podría ser el problema
He doesn't have the boat trimmed properly. People run Solo Skiffs with 6hp outboard motors and this does not happen.
What’s that black tub with the red cap you had by the standing area?
Can you review the Brooklyn Kayak Company sk12 skiff?
What's your top speed? I'd love to see those new cheap 5hp Amazon electric motors in this!
Between 6-8 moh depending on current
I feel if you spending all that money on that boat it should not have water coming in getting all your gear wet
price you pay for speed
It will flip if you reverse fast and turn at the same time
I bet haha
Hi Alex want some advise I’m thinking about purchasing a older predator with minn Kota it’s all set up fish finder asking price 1750 seems like a good deal what you think about this kayak, love your vids enjoy the vids when you go out and fish
That's a very old kayak and it is winter, should be under $1500, how many hours that motor has??? Could be close to a brush replacement, see if you can get a better price
Thanks Alex, I’m going to do an inspection on it this weekend don’t know how to check hours of operation on motor, but will do a full inspection
Greetings again, seniors, thank you for the good video giving us important information about fishing boats
Glad you like them!
@@AliexFolgueira Thank you senior, always healthy
15 pound test for trout is more than enough man
if only trout's live there
@@AliexFolgueira of course but not sure why you would ever think a trout was doing that to a 15lb leader and then a 50lb lol
@danc4454 broo I kid you not, I saw a gator trout it was not a Cuda, it was a giant trout, I think that's what cut the line, maybe a lucky shot, but it wasn't a Cuda of that I'm sure
I’ve had mackerel cut mono easy like that before. I use braid and a fluorocarbon leader now. If I had something cut my line like that I’d cut the leader and go straight braid they’d have a harder time cutting that I think.
Yikes this is why everyone loves your channel not only you tell it like it is but you also show it on video too 🙌 you just saved a bunch of people from getting this boat/kayak not a well thought design needs to go back to the drawing board and more R&D imo nobody wants to go swimming with the sharkies out there in deep water 😱🙄😁 p.s. companies should hire you as a consultant or tester before putting stuff in the market 🤔🤞
I often wonder why the solos aren't as popular as they would be, people learned two things, they are wet and teepy, and I think that's by design they wanted to be light and fast and kayak like...
I don’t like this either for the same reasons
Your weight is not properly trimmed, I have one with a bow mounted minnkota and a 6hp Nissan ob
what weight?
Your weight. All the weight is rearward. Who blasts in reverse anyway?
I bought one of these turds as well. Can’t believe they make these for so long and have not fixed this issue. Just make the rear end 3 inches higher for God sakes, and put in a couple of scupper holes. Why can’t they figure this out?. purely crap design
scupper create drag, it is like one of those trade off, not sure if this will always be "perfect"
I feel like that Skiff isn’t really made for fishing. There’s no room and the water issue in reverse is a no go! But man that sucka flies on the water, that motor is insane…
it was probably made to run to a spot and get off and start fishing, popular in tx marshes. I think we can make it a fishable boat by adding a bow motor, and some rod stagers on the side, maybe seat on the deck when going fast.
There’s a lot of room for gear and to fish. You can stand on the bow or midship to fish. Loading it with gear was never an issue for me.
Where are you getting no room from?
I kinda liked them when they first came out. But after really looking at so many videos on it. The skiff is really a little too small in my opinion.🙂
