Thank you for all whom are working to cure Cancer. Leukemia is brutal and AML is so fast that the patient barely has time to process when sent into induction chemotherapy. It is terrifying and I wish more people went into the field of medicine to help people not just because they want to make good money. The difference in how they treat patients is obvious.
I have Hodgkin's Lymphoma, currently doing rounds of chemo. It really sucks, although I consider myself one of the lucky ones. That said, I was having symptoms for YEARS, and every doctor, and I went to at least 4 or 5, basically misdiagnosed and minimized my concerns. They told me I had "anxiety" for shortness of breath, "eczema" for body itching, "just a bit of diarrhea" for digestive issues, "depression" for mood changes, I was always asking about cancer, and they were all wrong until I had a serious red flag of a hardened lymph node by my collarbone, and a new young doctor as well. I'm so happy it was caught at stage 2a, although if the doctors had taken my issues more seriously, they could've caught it at an earlier stage. One round of ABVD chemo and all of those other symptoms and conditions went away!
Same thing happened to me in regards to my 1st cancer, prostate cancer. At the age of 42 I went to my GP who told me I was working too much and drinking too much coffee! When I was 45 I went to another GP for my symptoms and he said the same thing. 2 years later I was dx with advanced stage 4 prostate cancer with a PSA of 3,280. During those years it had spread throughout my body with my 1st bone scan showing several dozen tumors in my bones.
@@thomasfholland I'm so sorry to hear of your story. It's sad that doctors often don't take the small signs as something to at least get checked. I hope you're doing okay and stay strong.
a wonderful video, very informative. My wife died from breast cancer about two years ago. I think I am healthy, I do wish that doctors would listen to the patients and have an open mind...hope that they will be able to REALLY HEAR what is being said, so many do not do that.
