    Wow! I’m sure of reiterated this point, however, it bears repeating: I can only imagine what a Herculean effort it is to do all the research for these types of videos, but it is certainly both appreciated and so very inspiring! I love this season’s StyleMaker Fabric’s new releases and have tried so hard not to purchase anymore new fabrics or patterns this year. Seriously, I tried, but happily I did not succeed! I love your interpretations of the ready-to-wear looks and, Whitney, I LOVE, Love, love the fabrics you’ve chosen for each!

    Whitney, I so, so, loved this video!! Coordinating fabrics and patterns to create “the looks” is an art really and you do it fabulously!!! Often this is the step that when done creatively, artistically, yields that spot on outfit instead of a candidate for the donate pile. The video was so much fun and I love that the fabrics are all available now, so we can actually recreate the outfits in time to wear this season. I love your technique videos (well all of them really) but this one was just FAB. Please do it again for the Spring Style Maker fabric release. Thanks for the inspiration… ❤ Teri in Florida

    Oh my, did you open a big can of worms for a lot of us. I love every ‘look’ and your interpretations are spot on! Did you notice the Monochromatic shirt/pants how the crotch of the pants is dropped - very sleek look. Style Arc has several pants patterns with this feature. I have made one pair of the Ethel pants, elastic in a waistband and pleated front with pockets(yay). I found the drop and little too much in the first pair, but currently making a second where I raised it 1/2 inch. I also straitened the bell of the leg some. Thanks for your work and mess to recreate these looks.

    • @TomKatStitchery

      I have noticed that on the flowing pants. I think that might make them easier to fit as well!

    Great inspiration!!! I was hoping you would have the double sided Sherpa fleece because I bought some last year and I have no idea what to make. 😂 Bought it with my birthday discount and am at a loss. 😆 Thanks for the video! The swatches are such a good idea. I need to order some more. It’s so helpful.

    • @TomKatStitchery
      @TomKatStitchery  2 роки тому +1

      That swatch was in my pile, but I just had make some cuts! I have, however, used that in the past and made a Wardrobe By Me Fleece Jacket and it worked really great. That one was for my son, but I think an Itch to Stitch Bainbridge would be good, a Cashmerette Stanton with the 1/4 zip expansion, or there are a number of Jalie jackets that would be great!

    Never too much Whitney! Love all these ideas!The worsted wool for the Logan coat,can you use worsted wool suiting fabric?

    • @TomKatStitchery
      @TomKatStitchery  2 роки тому +1

      The fabric for the Lagan was called worsted, but I would have termed it more of a loose weave coating. It was not the smooth worsted suiting weight (like the first charcoal wool was). That being said, I think you could make the Lagan out of worsted suiting for a lighter weight coat.

    I am eyeing that boiled wool for either a Metro blazer or the Jasika blazer will that work?

    • @TomKatStitchery
      @TomKatStitchery  2 роки тому +1

      I think it might be too open weave for the Jasika and all the interfacing that's required for that one. It has about 25% stretch, which is the smallest stretch recommended for the Metra so that should work!

    Here a tiny twist at my house: the Pantooli --for fabric, either use stretch silk/lycra or stretch nylon/cotton/lycra tight fit leggings (w/ panty 'saddle') for an option replacing panties and pant lining--all in one. Panty + Pantaloon + Leggings = the Pantooli. In my house, bulk is out and comfort in. Whatcha think? ~ L

    As usual, I enjoyed looking at your choices. Questions: 1) If I have the Freya pattern, is there a big enough difference to warrant buying the Hepburn? 2) In your opinion, can the Canvas pattern be used to mimic the look of a jean jacket?

    • @TomKatStitchery
      @TomKatStitchery  2 роки тому

      I'm so glad you enjoyed it! To answer your questions 1. While I haven't made the Freya, I would think that it's pretty darn similar to the Hepburn. 2. I think the Canvas pattern could definitely be made in a denim and take on a jean jacket look!
