I remember when Tracy Chapman's 1988 version of "Fast Car" was so popular. I think I have her LP somewhere among my collection. I listen to your version almost daily. Love it and so glad another generation is hearing this wonderful melody!

Wow Wow Wow ! Marnie, this is such a departure from what I typically hear you play. Just today I was listening to your performance of Debussy's Girl with the Flaxen hair, a piece I've been working on for the last several months and entirely inspired by your video. Then later today I stumble upon this ! I've always loved this song which seems to me, to have a rather unusual syncopation, much like Marc Cohn's Walking in Memphis. I think the syncopation alone would make this a difficult piece to learn, but I am inspired none the less. Once I've mastered Girl with the Flaxen Hair (I've only been playing three years and am self-taught) I've been considering three pieces as my next piece, Chopin's Nocturn in C Sharp Minor inspired by the movie The Pianist, Vangelis' Memory of Green from the movie Blade Runner, or Teddy Leong-She's version of the theme from Romeo and Juliette, A time for Us, which has many tremendous walk up's. I do feel like Girl with the Flaxen Hair has really stretched my abilities as it was far beyond my level when I attempted it, but I've risen to that level. Thank you soooooooooooooooooo very much Marnie for inspiring me to stick to learning this thing called piano. I started late at 60 years of age.
