Delhi's peak power demand reached an all-time high of 7717 MW on Tuesday afternoon, amid the prevailing intense summer heat, Discom officials said. According to the State Load Dispatch Centre (SLDC) Delhi real-time data, the peak demand of the city broke all previous records. Heatwaves in parts of Delhi on Monday pushed the national capital's peak power demand to its highest ever for May. Realtime data from the State Load Dispatch Centre, Delhi, showed the peak power demand at 7,572 MW. This was the highest-ever peak power demand for Delhi in May. It was also higher than the peak power demand recorded last year -- 7,438 MW on August 22. According to the power ministry data, the peak power demand met or the highest supply in the day has already reached 233 GW on May 6 compared to 221.42 GW recorded a year ago. Earlier in the month, the power ministry estimated that the power demand would peak at 235 GW during the daytime, 225 GW during evening hours in May; and 240 GW during the daytime and 235 GW during evening hours in June 2024. मुझे लगता है कि तापमान बढ़ने का एक कारण एक बढ़े क्षेत्र में पक्के मकान, पक्की सड़कों का निर्माण भी है क्योंकि पक्के मकान और सड़के कच्ची मिट्टी वाली जमीन की अपेक्षा जल्दी गर्म हो जाते हैं जबकि ऐसा क्षेत्र जहाँ बाग हो या मिट्टी वाला क्षेत्र वहाँ का तापमान उतना तेजी से नहीं बढ़ता क्योंकि सूरज की गर्मी पेड़ पौधे और मिट्टी में मौजूद नमी को वाष्प में बदलने में काम आ जाती है इसलिए हरे भरे क्षेत्रों में तापमान अपेक्षाकृत कम रहरहताता है।

Some steps should be taken by Govt on Climate Change:
1) Deforestation and cutting of trees should be strictly banned both for Private & Govt enterprises ( infra road buildings etc).
2) Every carbon emmiting sources such as Mfg Industries, Automobile manufacturers etc should be compelled to plan trees as in ratio of their contribution to the emmision.
3) Counseling to Citizens at National level.
4) A Seperate expediting and vigilance dept to be setup for taking follow up of above and anti corruption dept for the same as there are chances of corruption as it is connected to industries.
5) Ecological hotspots (Ladakh, J&K, Wetlands, Some place in South India, Sunderbans) should be protected from industrialisation and private players.
6) Water charges should be high for the payables so that the water wastage would be automatically controlled.( Based on Section amounts of wealth)
7) Focus on rain water harvesting (on the basis of estimate of need of water in future) as severe droughts can easily be faced.
8) At least Once In a month , All industries should take rest for carbon emissions and should be closed for one day compulsorily. (This can cause economic slowdown but it should be done globally).
9)Focus more on Solar energy and the conutry should be less dependent on thermal sources.
10) Incentive based electrical charges, if less consumed electric units should be charged at lower rates.
11) Frequently seen wars with lot of pollution by explosion such use of explosives should also be controlled at International level.
