I believe that is the sensing bulb for the expansion valve. It allows the expansion valve to sense the heat load on the evaporator. It should be wrapped to the suction line with insulation tape.

I am guessing that copper wire is a "temp" probe type thing that should be in the evaporator air box, or toughing a metal line at the evaporator? and the probe opens and closes a variable orifice metering type device to regulate the amount of R12/R134a coming through that part of the system?

I appreciate expecting people to work for their goal on any subject in life. But you pass up so many opportunities to explain stuff fully by "making someone search for the answer". They are almost gaureteed to notngo through the trouble. For one they don't even know what it is. It doesn't apply to most modern ac systems. I'm enjoying learning from your videos. It would be so much more informative if you gave the final pieces of the puzzle after criticizing everyone for their lack of knowledge 😅

@@kaseycoleman993 there was no criticizing in this video. It was all teaching the student. No I will not lower myself down to snowflakes. Don’t want to do no work at all for learning something..
Little bits and pieces of information later on and other videos if they give up that easy, they could go flip burgers . 🍔
If I catch somebody’s interested, who’s really interested if they’re serious, they will work for it.
I know there’s many who will not search or work for it. Then I don’t want them as a student..
I’ll take somebody by the hand and walk him and explain every procedure and step and repeated it until they get it.
