It surprises a lot of people when they discover that Geoff can sing tenor with ease. Geoff has worked hard to expand his range into the lower bass notes.

I grew up listening to Jim Croce and love what Geoff did with the song. I live about an hour away from where Jim Croce was killed in a plane crash. That was a very sad day for us.

With Geoff you should watch to the very end.
Geoff does a little thank you speech and does a running thank you list of most of his Patreons.
In this one he also showed and mentioned his new dog Tommy. He and his family adopted Tommy last month but is very attached to Geoff. Follows him everywhere in the house.

I always think that Geoff is a master storyteller, and he tells it through the songs. He tends to favor a lot of story type songs on his solo channel and this is another one. Jim Croce was very popular when I was in college. He died in a plane crash and I don’t believe he had gotten much beyond 30 so it’s no surprise you haven’t heard of him.

This was one of Jim's fun songs and I am so happy Geoff is doing this one. Jim Croce died when my husband and I were only 23 (1973). Check out Time in a Bottle or Operator which are both some of Croce's best and most beautiful songs. Croce's son does play some of Jim's songs to keep them alive. This with Geoff also does that.

Croce is pronounced 'Crow-chee' He did a couple of songs that focused on 'tough guys', but probably his best remembered song would be "Time in a Bottle". I really love what Geoff did with this. He gave it a bit more menace than the original but also a kind of funky swing to it.

I really like this cover. It's not surprising you don't know Jim Croce he passed away in 1973 , this, Bad Leroy Brown , Operator and Time in a Bottle were his most known songs.

Jim Croce was popular during the hippie era of music in the States. This song was very, very popular. Geoff did a great job on this one. The "scat" he did at the end was done by the original artist, much earlier in the piece and at least two octaves higher. Great reaction!

So, it was kind of hard to tell, I guess you liked this one just a little bit more than 'Sound of Silence' 😉😉😉
I love so many of Jim Croce's songs, he was a unique singer and songwriter who died way too soon, but Geoff really did a great job with this arrangement, making it fun and grabbing you in instantly with that foot-stomping and clapping and then you get that delightful upper range of his as well as those incredibly deep bass notes.

a professional singer tested his voice on a few of his songs and messured his lowest notes using a program and he hits a C1 base note
