Definitely white for the wheels. Your doing a great job on the video's, very interesting. I like the Ford pickup, cool truck. it's awesome getting the kiddos involved, also.
Fun video, Kent! I'm liking the cream colored steelies for sure! For the paint, I'd use wet/dry 1200 (after you rub it against itself (wet) briefly). Just a very little wet sanding, then to a mild rubbing compound, and then wax.... You'll be surprised how it will knock the oxidation and bring the shine back.....
Ivory white wheels. 0000 steel wool WITH SOAP. Keep the paint wet, and rub. It does a wonderful job on old dead paint. And finally, boiled linseed oil for the shine. Glad to see a new video from you and the boys. Keep up the great content.
Kent it's great to see y'all are safe and healthy ! -- Kinda worried after the storms passed your area a few months ago -- I'd seriously like to see the next version of the Blue VW Headache -- LOL ! Bless You All -- Please Stay Safe ! -- HI, JACK !
Oh my goodness. I’ve been having withdrawals. Been worried since all the storms went through. We had some pretty bad ones here in Alabama. Glad your back at it.
😊Sooo glad to see a new video from you!!!!Watching it now but I have been wondering where you've been.GLAD YOU ARE BACK!!I hope you'll do a video on the beetle soon.
Hi Kent, that's crazy amazing how that cleaned all up👍 🖐 AJ you do good work Shop Man🌞. Good job , I think Ivory White for that one 😏. Hi to Jack . JO JO IN VT 💞
Glad to see a new video! I say the ivory on the wheels. Then as others have mentioned, linseed oil, or buy the patina sauce/shine juice. It'll make a nice truck, but I would definitely sell it before the GMC. Those 67-72 GMC and Chevy trucks are really getting popular and harder to find. They also ride better, in my opinion.
I think that the white steel wheels look better without the hubcaps but that is just my opinion. As for the chrome i've always had good results using Comet on a wet cloth aand it cleans it right up. Good luck with the F100 it looks like a fun project !
Cool Kent, you put a Napa legend Marine/RV battery in that thing. It's going to look great once it's done. Glad to see you in a new video. Hopefully you can do more. How about another live stream with the boys. Those are fun. Take care all of you. Loot is my grandson Ryley and I'm Rick and were up here in NH. Please, more videos from you and Jack.
Hey Kent, I am with Jack on this one. Keep that F-100! I have a soft spot for those trucks. Definitely go with the ivory, not satin black. Black would look way off on that truck. On the old F100 that I had, it had oxidation really bad when I first got it. I just used a paste wax, Blue Poly I think, and it shined it right up. Obviously it's not going to take out blemishes and scratches Etc, but it will shine it right up. Have the boys watched the original Karate Kid movie? If they have tell them wax on, wax off and turn them loose on it LOL! Glad to see you back. It's been awhile
We always used “Liquid Glass”, it’s a polish that dealers use to remove oxidation and restore color! Most dealerships have it. Cost quite a bit but last long time.
Jack’s a smart boy! We’ve been waiting on an update on this one. (We have a ‘68 F100 as well.) If you want it to be shiny…Cut, buff and polish is hard to beat for low $$$. Just takes time. Cream/off white wheels. Here’s to hoping Jack convinces you to sell the GMC 😎
There are two different ways to go about getting some shine back. The easiest and quickest method is to first clean it with an SOS pad with soap in it. Then, after rinsing that off, use linseed oil and mineral spirits, using the spirits just to thin out the linseed oil. That'll give you a damp, rich look. The other option is to do the SOS thing, then compound, polish, buff and wax. I'd go with option #1. WARNING: wash out the rags used for the linseed mix. Soaked rags can spontaneously combust. Wash them out. Great to see you guys back!
Thanks for the tips Michael. Yikes! I had not idea about that linseed and mineral spirits rags combusting! I do think that would be the cheapest and fastest option!
@@SpeedBumpGarage I'm not sure exactly what oils and aromatics do that spontaneous combustion thing. But, I know that one, and turpentine as well. If they're discarded, like in a little pile, with some airflow... Poof! I'm glad to get that reminder out there.
Wet/dry 3,000 or 4,000 grit sandpaper. Use wet, that is what custom shops use to get down to the shine. White wheels and paint the roof white as well. Keep the GMC it will be worth more long range and will last longer.
KENY MY DAD ALWAYS USED DEISEL FUIL TO RESTORE PAINT THAT WAS OXIDATION. HE WOULD POUR IT ON A RAG AND THEM WIPE IT ON THE PAINT IT WORKED, BUT FOR HOW LONG I DONT KNOW.
That green not all eaten up with rust on my favorite truck of all time. I have to move out of the Midwest asap. They're all mangled rusted and way over priced here.
So, on the color of the wheels it look bitchin’ to have them color matched to the green truck…Having said this, the white would be the the second choice.

Either linseed oil, or get some shine juice from vise grip garage. It'll make that truck look good. White rims imo.
Thanks Tim
I was waiting for a Puddin's Fab Shop style pressure washing segment! 😂
SOS Pads with a gentle hand scrubbing will bring that paint around. Cheap and as easy as a hand washing.
lol I'm not sure I could pull that off
Thanks Troy! I will give it a try
You can use Comet Cleanser and a soft bristle brush and finish with a sponge, it will look brand new.
Someone mentioned that for chrome. I may try it on the paint also
Glad you are back
Me too! Thanks for watching
Good to see you. Hope all is well

I just found this channel the other day. I really hope they didn't sell this truck. At the start he said he always wanted one.
Ivorywheels, water pump, ignition key repair,a little more clean up and sell it!
I just picked up the parts today! Thanks for watching
I used polishing compound or rubbing compound I can’t remember which on an old red truck about like yours. I couldn’t believe the difference it made!
Thanks Mark!
For sure keep the GMC. Of course, that's all I've ever had ;)

Have you ever done a go- jo rub down on old paint? Works good..I like the white..
I have not heard of doing that but now I have to try it lol. Thanks
I have a mallard green bump side which is a darker shade. I painted my wheels international harvester white and it is a great combo.
Thanks Scott! I may need to look into that, the ivory is a little lighter than I would like

I agree. Good truck for Jack.
White steelies....clean paint with scotch brite....then rub 'er down with sweet patina sauce.
Wet sanding with scotch brite is what I was considering! The Patina Sauce probably would do the trick. Thank you!
White steelies and buff the paint. It'll look great!

Yep, I put the 67 grill on the truck. It was missing the grill when I purchased it in the junk yard.
That's right, now I remember when you did that in the junkyard

Vicegrip garage shine juice, He uses it on older cars & truck with patena and oxidized paint.

Watch Puddins fab shop he does a sweet patina or vice grip garage has some stuff out that makes them shine

I think you should restore it and make it like a brand new one ..
Definitely the white ! :)
You should keep the green truck and sell the yellow one if anything. The gmc and green one stay 🤣
I’ve heard just hand wash it and pour comet cleaner on your washing pad and scrub it and all the oxidation will come right off.
I will give it a try!
Let's us vote on it I'm with jack keep this truck sell the other one
