Ian Anderson. Well not just Ian with Jethro Tull . Kansas had a flute guy .Marshall Tucker had a flute guy. Tim Weisberg was on everyone's record for awhile. All I can say is flute solos were very big at one point.
ZZ Top formed in 1969 and remained the same line up, the same 3 guys until Dusty Hill unfortunately died in 2021. Imagine being a 20yr old and being in the same band until you die at 72, mind blowing to think🤯
0:34 hope yall get well soon 😂 Mike is cracking me up lately LMAO "guitars weren't invented when i was born, we had flute solos... thrashin' out on the mandolin" 😂
It's super neat to see how guitar changes throughout the years, as well as how one instrument can be used in so many different styles. Incredible, great reaction guys!
Paul Davids is a great guitar player, and he makes amazing videos. Very high level production, and very creative, and very tasteful in everything he does. He strikes me as a class act. I used to love his videos, and it's nice to see that orange Strat again.
He’s so professional yet friendly and encouraging in his videos, he’s proper class 🤘🏼 he’s one of a few music YTers I am always impressed with their video quality
He had Ozzy twice but we have to let that slide since the first one was Black Sabbath and the second was solo. That was really enjoyable guys. Thanks, as always, for the great video.
I heard a story about Bono. U2 was performing live and during a break, he started clapping wlowly to draw attention to famine in Africa. He said, "Every time I clap, a child in Africa dies of starvation". Someone in the audience Saud, "Well then quit fucking doing it!"
The fact that this guy is playing all these intro's using just one guitar and not changing levels or messing with an amp is amazing. Granted he's using effects pedals, but it takes a real pro to pull this off.
They didn't play Fleetwood Mac twice, though "Big Love" was a slight cheat. The song was released in 1987 by the whole band, but the one he played was the acoustic version which was released in the 1990's. "Seven Nation Army" was played correctly. And, I would've loved to have seen the camera pointed at his feet. He must've had quite a few foot pedals for all of those different tones!
Around #51/52 on the list at 6:24 when asked if he had repeated any of the artists at that point in the list, technically he had since Eddie Van Halen was actually the guitarist on Michael Jackson's "Beat It" (#41), and obviously performed on "Ain't Talkin Bout Love" (#31) as well.
He definitely played seven nation army in the right key. He played other ones in different keys though. gotta do what you gotta do to nail 80 songs man😂
HEY!! That's my guitar teacher from the Netherlands, Mr. Paul Davids! (online course, of course). He also did a great montage of acoustic guitar songs you might like a lot! If you ever want to learn the guitar, Paul gets my recommendation. Look for 'Learn - Practice - Play'.
FYI I graduated high school in '86. This video is great and I think there were 3 I couldn't get and they were towards the beginning. Loved when he played Stockholm Syndrome by Muse. Thanks guys!
The first one that popped in my head was Sweet Child O'Mine. I'll admit I didn't know all the earlier ones but it's weird that on Beat It, Eddie Van Halen wasn't credited. Eddie did all of that almost last second on the spot, Michael had nothing to do with the guitar stuff.
Eddie specified that he didn't want to be credited, or paid for it. He knew it would only create arguments within Van Halen about him playing with other people, and making money without them.
Holy S**t, guys, this is the best “feel good” video I’ve seen for awhile. That guy had the perfect idea for a video and between his riffs and your reactions, I had a big smile on my face the whole time!
Lots of iconic intros, but I think world wide Seven Nation Army would probably be the most iconic. It's played in just about every sports stadium across several different sports in every part of the world.
20:24 “no one’s perfect i suppose” bc he’s playing all these songs in standard tuning this track is in drop d tuning lol he did a fucking great job adjusting these songs to work in standard and 21:48 he had to pitch shift his guitar down like the original track lol it was right whattt
Little wing might be my favorite guitar song of all time… so killer. Hard to choose between Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughn’s versions, but I gotta go with the original
Unfortunately he played a U2 song, that you had to be so hardcore of a fan if you followed them into Auchtung Baby. I’d say Joshua Tree for me was their last great album. Unforgettable Fire is probably my favorite one, but all their early punk era music was killer.
Technically Office Bloke Mike was right about the beginning to seven nation army, but if you listen he clicked two paddles before he started playing it and one of them might have dropped the whole guitar one octave. The real way to play it is to turn down the low E one octave.
Talking of Flute Solos, There's an Indian Folk Metal Band Called Bloodywood that have a Flute Solo in one of their recent Songs. It's titled Aaj which translates to Today.
Didn't make sense not doing more than 1 song per year during the best guitar era (60's-80's), then having multiple songs per year in the early 2000's. Cool seeing two Steve Lukather-played songs (TOTO & Michael Jackson) on there though.
Apache-- by the Shadows, a popular British band right before the Beatles that played mostly instrumentals on Fender Stratocasters (some of the first in rock), Billy Gibbons of ZZ top was one of Hendrix's favorite new guitar players in 1969-70.
Musical videos don't get the same amount of views as they used to back when they started the channel. Check out their older videos if you want music or join Patreon. Cheers!
can almost say there was another two band... Black Sabbath and Ozzy... I am stretching that I know.. I was surprised how many 90's songs I did recognize, but after 2003 forget it.. #apster was n my life and I was using for old/classic and finding my love of some metal bands.. loved seeing Hocus Pocus by Focus was on this!
I like different kinds of rock and know most of these songs. My favorite genre is punk. I like punk from the 70s-now. My avatar is a Bad Religion album.
I completely forgot that “Message in a Bottle” is as old as I am. I always think of it as mid-80s “Seven Nation Army” doesn’t sound right because I think Jack White used drop D tuning on the original; I feel like it would be difficult to play all of these songs with that tuning, so he transposed it. But I’m a violin and cello player, not guitar 😊 If my ears serve me right, he transposed “Sweet Child O’ Mine” as well, but it could’ve just been the key leading into it that threw me off. Idk.
Bravo and well done for whoever requested this one! Paul Davids is a brilliant guitarist UA-camr, his recent cover of Under the Bridge is addictive and mesmerising
Sorry to double up, but wanted to say thanks, just added that Papa Roach song to my playlist. Glad he moved forward into the 90s because I never really dug into that decade or beyond. Hopefully some of the other viewers are finding new bits they like in here as well.
Funny that you mention Jimmy Hendrix's "All Along The Watchtower" is a cover. In reality, it is a cover of Bob Dylan's song. But Dylan's admitted that Hendrix did the song best and says the song belongs to him!
“Just enjoy them you f’n miserable old bastard”. 😂😂 Quite possibly the funniest Daz one-liner ever
agreed haha
I fucking lost it! His off-the-cuff one liners are great.
22:12
I love Daz 😂
Lmao Mike saying they did flute solos back in his younger years had me dying 😂
I just assumed he was talking about Jethro Tull LOL
Ian Anderson. Well not just Ian with Jethro Tull . Kansas had a flute guy .Marshall Tucker had a flute guy. Tim Weisberg was on everyone's record for awhile. All I can say is flute solos were very big at one point.
😂 I didn’t catch that ,but now I’m crying
And "thrashing out on a f-ing mandolin". lol
Probably some straight heat though 🔥
ZZ Top formed in 1969 and remained the same line up, the same 3 guys until Dusty Hill unfortunately died in 2021. Imagine being a 20yr old and being in the same band until you die at 72, mind blowing to think🤯
0:34 hope yall get well soon 😂
Mike is cracking me up lately LMAO "guitars weren't invented when i was born, we had flute solos... thrashin' out on the mandolin" 😂
I love seeing Mike crack up. He looks so happy lately 😂
It's super neat to see how guitar changes throughout the years, as well as how one instrument can be used in so many different styles. Incredible, great reaction guys!
The look on Mikes face when Dave asked isn't that your ringtone? That had me laughing my as off.
Does he or has he played in any bands of note? He's so good I'm sure he must have in the past.
“Just enjoy it, you fuckin’ miserable old bastard!”. Best laugh I’ve ever had on the channel.
Wow, this just flew by! I wasn't expecting him to do it all in one take and so smoothly. Amazing talent.
7:51 Half your audience just said "Turn it up" instinctively when they heard the chords to that song.
Yep exactly 😂
He had Ozzy twice but we have to let that slide since the first one was Black Sabbath and the second was solo. That was really enjoyable guys. Thanks, as always, for the great video.
Dave must have an employee evaluation meeting dressed like that. Lol
This is one off the best UA-cam videos I’ve ever watched
I heard a story about Bono. U2 was performing live and during a break, he started clapping wlowly to draw attention to famine in Africa. He said, "Every time I clap, a child in Africa dies of starvation".
Someone in the audience Saud, "Well then quit fucking doing it!"
The fact that this guy is playing all these intro's using just one guitar and not changing levels or messing with an amp is amazing. Granted he's using effects pedals, but it takes a real pro to pull this off.
Mike was right. Some of those tunes were in the wrong key. Some songs require custom guitar tuning, so he transposed them into a different key.
Born in 1967 and proud of the ones he used! I like all kinds of music. Great job on this one!
Sunshine of Your Love--perfect riff. Thank you England for Clapton, Baker and Bruce!
Oops and Scotland--Jack Bruce!
he stumbled on the Stevie Ray song, but who wouldn't? He's the true guitar legend
Watch some of his other videos about SRV, he nails it.
Mike having Black Sabbath as a ring tone. . . you are SO COOL! 😎
There was only one repeat artist in there, he first played Black Sabath and later also played Ozzy Osborne solo
What England did for rock music could never be matched 🏴
Rock music is American music, f*ck off!
Its amazing how many of these great guitarists were British!
Surprised that ACDC Back In Black didn't make the cut.... iconic.
That riff in particular was played by Steve Lukather actually, Eddie only did the solo.
The greatest guitar intro for me is Scorpions - Sails Of Charon, don't really consider myself a fan of the genre but there's just something about it
FYI I graduated high school in '86. This video is great and I think there were 3 I couldn't get and they were towards the beginning. Loved when he played Stockholm Syndrome by Muse. Thanks guys!
Just saw The Killers last night in Chicago- Mr. Brightside was the last encore- the whole place exploded it was awesome
I agree, Dave...that was the best out of the lot.

I am subscribed to you and the more I listen to you all, the more I understand your type of English😀
How is along the watchtower not featured? It's such an iconic guitar intro.
Enjoyed watching this with you guys. Inspired me to pick up my guitar for the first time in months.
That was a great journey. I got a lot of goosebumps 🔥🔥🔥 it’s 2:52am here in Japan and Now I want to pick up my guitar!
I've got a fever and the only prescription is more cow bell.
y'all all responded to Sweet Home Alabama at the same time! Love it!
its interesting to hear all these songs with the same tunning and amp settings.
I can't hear Don't Fear The Reaper without thinking about the SNL sketch with Christopher Walken.
Holy S**t, guys, this is the best “feel good” video I’ve seen for awhile. That guy had the perfect idea for a video and between his riffs and your reactions, I had a big smile on my face the whole time!

Little wing might be my favorite guitar song of all time… so killer. Hard to choose between Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughn’s versions, but I gotta go with the original
Seven nation army was perfect. He even used the pitch shifter to drop it an octave.
Unfortunately he played a U2 song, that you had to be so hardcore of a fan if you followed them into Auchtung Baby. I’d say Joshua Tree for me was their last great album. Unforgettable Fire is probably my favorite one, but all their early punk era music was killer.

That boy can play! That was amazing, I haven't seen any cuts either, seems like this is one take? May be wrong but still awesome.
Talking of Flute Solos, There's an Indian Folk Metal Band Called Bloodywood that have a Flute Solo in one of their recent Songs. It's titled Aaj which translates to Today.
Going back through this and making a new playlist
Love this you guys need to react to the best that rock and roll has to offer definitely do a top 100 rock songs or music video reactions
amazing talent
Didn't make sense not doing more than 1 song per year during the best guitar era (60's-80's), then having multiple songs per year in the early 2000's. Cool seeing two Steve Lukather-played songs (TOTO & Michael Jackson) on there though.
Haha love how he put the capo on for Wonderwall
Paul Davids killed this opening riff video
Apache-- by the Shadows, a popular British band right before the Beatles that played mostly instrumentals on Fender Stratocasters (some of the first in rock), Billy Gibbons of ZZ top was one of Hendrix's favorite new guitar players in 1969-70.
I hate to say, I think the Brown Eyed Girl into is very iconic and he sounded just like the recording 👌
He played Black Sabbath and Ozzy, but it was two different guitar players (Tony Iommi and Randy Rhodes respectively), so I don't think that counts.
He'd have to retune his guitar to do a mess of these but great job.
Loved it. ty for this.
Paul played ‘Satisfaction’ by the Rolling Stones, iconic!
Hey guys, you could do more like this please. This was awesome.
Musical videos don't get the same amount of views as they used to back when they started the channel. Check out their older videos if you want music or join Patreon. Cheers!
By a LONG shot, Deep Purple's "Smoke on the Water" is the most iconic riff.
Mike's ringtone being paranoid by black sabbath is for some reason really funny to me. 😆
Mike was playing the skin flute back in the day
can almost say there was another two band...

Feel good mood is the perfect way to describe this video
"Just enjoy it, ya miserable old bastard" 🤣🤣🤣
Best 1980s guitar intro - Money For Nothing by Dire Straits
Nile Rodgers was in the Taylor Hawkins tribute concert
Dave sure says a lot of words without really saying anything
Quite nice to see that Paul Davids can't make an acoustic Simulator sound any more convincing than I can.
All Along The Watchtower is a cover. Hendrix covered Dylan on that one.
So many iconic tunes... I'd love to know how to play all those songs.
I completely forgot that “Message in a Bottle” is as old as I am. I always think of it as mid-80s
“Seven Nation Army” doesn’t sound right because I think Jack White used drop D tuning on the original; I feel like it would be difficult to play all of these songs with that tuning, so he transposed it. Lol ever notice when a brit tells a story it always starts "I went to the pub last nite..."
The end was just pure flexing lol
Wow. That was great, guys! Top Man him.
Paul David’s is a incredible guitarist he’s one of the best on UA-cam he’s one of the best out there please make more reactions to his videos
I can think of 80 more that could go on this list
Bravo and well done for whoever requested this one! Paul Davids is a brilliant guitarist UA-camr, his recent cover of Under the Bridge is addictive and mesmerising
Oh. The number of movies these songs have been.
America 🇺🇸 England 🇬🇧
Love ❤️
Proper Ace video on this one Blokes. Keep em' coming lads.
Sorry to double up, but wanted to say thanks, just added that Papa Roach song to my playlist. Glad he moved forward into the 90s because I never really dug into that decade or beyond. Hopefully some of the other viewers are finding new bits they like in here as well.
As for Oasis, and I love Oasis, I also think of Rock And Roll Star and Some Might Say.
"Isn't that your ringtone" LOL
Seven nation army transitions from notes to a glass slide
Wow. Music took a nosedive right about 2000. I never even heard of that last song/group.
You guys always crack me up! 😂
A lot of good new songs but the intros from the older intros beat down the newer ones.
I would love more music reactions!
14:27 thrashing out on the mandolin 😂
Great video guys! Content was awesome and you blokes were hilarious.
#29 needs more cowbell
GOAT is awesome!
Apache was the one I didn’t know as well.
Papa Roach one seemed perfect to me!
Funny that you mention Jimmy Hendrix's "All Along The Watchtower" is a cover. In reality, it is a cover of Bob Dylan's song. But Dylan's admitted that Hendrix did the song best and says the song belongs to him!
