Great job with the explorers. Was with San Antonio Police Explorers for about 3 yrs. Age 15-17. Those were the greatest yrs of my life. If there's anyone youth out there that are hesitant on joining there local explorers, all I can say is just go for it. It will teach u so much.

I was an explorer with a police department for a year. Man this brought me back memories when I went to our explorer academy. Such a great program for kids like that are that age who are interested in becoming LE. Helps out a lot, teaches them many great skills and leadership, and gives them something good to do and good friends so they stay out of trouble...for the most part lol.
I agree, there are some awesome kids there.
I did the Explorer program (was called Cadet at the time) for the Manteca Police Department in Manteca, California back in 1991. I thoroughly enjoyed in but ended up in the medical field as a career. I have been thinking of doing a volunteer for my local police department here. Shout out from Port Orchard, Washington. You got a subscriber...

Haha I was an Explorer here in Upstate NY. Glad we weren't the only post subjected to the "Post office uniform" lol. I tried to get our uniform to look better so many times, we weren't allowed badges, only ID cards later on! Post advisor was a cop in Florida and was run great! It seams like Florida has a great number of great explorer programs! Keep it up! A lot of agencies are afraid of the liability, my post drew in kids far outside my town and county! At one point we had a waiting list!

Preparing for the Explorer Academy this June so I'm re-watching this to prepare.
Make sure to work on push ups and sit ups. You should also start running a lot. I'm currently in an explorer academy, and it's just awesome! Good Luck!

2 weeks long? Dang. When I went to Police Explorer Academy for Maple Valley PD, it was a week long, Monday-Saturday and we stayed overnight. 2 weeks long is crazy long.

July 11-15 is that police academy I told you about. I will try to vlog it for my UA-cam channel. Updates coming soon. Also Yesterday was my last day of school. I was in the 8th grade talent show with my gold led shoes.

One of my favorite Boy Scouts of America Programs, Great job guys!! Law Enforcement is one of 15 areas that you can become an explorer in. Some others are EMS, Law, Theater, Science, Engineering. Exploring is Co-ed ages 14-21, so if your interested go to beascout.org and put in your zip to get the contact info for your local BSA council. Before I get the comments yes explorers is only a BSA program and yes I ran an Explorer Post for a decade as the Explorer Advisor. I am currently about to hit 24 years of service with the BSA, all of which is with the same council that I was a scout in. If you have questions about explorers or BSA please feel free to send me a message.

This academy is for Explorers. The academy for Police Officers is based on the need for officers.

Wow it looks so cool, i think its a lot of fun :) Im so sad that we in germany dont have such explorer groups within our Police Agencies :/ I would really like to attend such of these classes but i think its unfortunately not possible for me as an out of state citizen.
