A video like that will not work because the settings depend on what your environment is like. The settings will be different for outdoors vs indoors and how much light there is indoors. If they turn off the lights for dancing, then the settings change again. You can search UA-cam video for exposure triangle that will show you settings for your t6 or any camera
We shoot outdoors all the time and never an issue if you implement the Exposure Triangle and Flash when necessary. Sharp and well lit photos every time.
Rex, how are you? I have a question. What would be your setup when you have a vinyl backdrop. I was testing few days ago and the flash reflects just in the middle or above subject's head. I have a godox MS300 with a 32" white satin with black removable cover. Thank you! I appreciate all your videos, are very helpful as always!
Great question. Vinyl predominantly is a reflective material and difficult to work with as a backdrop. Sometime we have no choice because that’s what the client gives us. If you are not able to do a green screen or upgrade them to a pillow top cloth backdrop then you can try raising the flash and shooting towards the subject avoiding direct flash on the vinyl backdrop, can also turn down flash and bump iso.
Yes, all settings will vary on location and time of day. There are no “common” settings. Best solution is to use the “exposure triangle”. It works every time. With or without flash.
Good afternoon my son is a photographer I built a photo booth for him almost exactly like yours I do have a question is there a particular reason why the umbrella or I should say baby pin is on the side and not the middle? Is there a reason for that? My baby pin will be in the mail this Friday. I don’t want to drill the hole in the wrong spot.
HI Edwin, great observation and thank you for the question. The output or the look of the photo will not make a difference whether if the baby pin holding the flash is in the middle or off to the side. The REASON we have to the side is because we remove the baby pin during transport and screw on the inside. We cant screw in the middle because that's where the camera is.
Great tips! I thought the shoot through looked the best but the least pleasant looking setup. So, I think I gotta continue using a softbox.....which like you I hate setting that thing up. It's so tedious and it looks bulky.
