nice to see the pub again, it was my first local so to speak, as in every weekend for 2 or 3 years from 74 to 76, some good memories and one or two proper horror stories tnx
Left for Australia in 70s as a child great memories playing in and around the town castle train station thanks for letting me into the history amazing stuff let’s hope we can stay up
Just found your channel but loving each video! Natural on camera and an encyclopaedia for the north east would be interesting to make videos about the castles around! Great work!
Great video Eddie! Good to see you walk along the Tyne showing off our beautiful city - really enjoyed that! The Old George Pub was one of my favourites when I was a young lass out on the town.
Love your dogs Eddy and so well behaved and thanks for another good history lesson and your adventures abroad. I lived in the beautiful Island of Jersey for 25 years and was a driver guide for a couple of seasons. When Charles the first was executed his young son escaped to Jersey with his mother and a very large group of servants and stayed on Jersey for a short time. During the short stay it cost his hosts a fortune for such a large group and were glad to see him go at the end before going to France. There he stayed until he returned to England to become Charles the second. When he was king he never forgot the kindness from Jersey and granted many privileges to the Island.
not been to Old George for years..probably 8 or 9 years..love the pub...dunno if they still have the fireplace...they used to have a real fire and in winter you just did not want to leave the pub !!...just sit near the fireplace
Love sitting outside the Old George , even funnier when my dad who’s 66 always turns round after a few pints and says “ya na this is the oldest pub in Newcastle son “
Really enjoying your videos Eddy, very informative and entertaining! Keep them coming old bean, hope to see you around when im in the town meself some time and get a selfie!!
I've recently stumbled across your UA-cam channel, and just got to say I absolutely love it, I'm currently going back through your vids and look forward to all future ones.

Love your videos Eddie. I live in Australia and its great to see the lifestyle of Newcastle and also enjoy the football news of my great club. Kerp them coming.
Good video again Eddy. I really enjoyed that. Fingers crossed for the Toon against Cambridge. The Old George looks nice, but will never go in there. :)
Always loyal to our home footy team Eddy.Sometimes,I use loyal to the bitter end. Quite a common occurrence supporting Newcastle. Just the odd great feeling. :)
Awesome mate, currently studying human geography at Northumbria Uni so I've found myself watching your vids a lot as I love learning more about the city
Just watched the video about the OLD GEORGE and in it you mentioned Cumberland. My maternal grandmother comes from Aspatria. I was wondering if you did any videos of Cumberland and Aspatria in particular, plus where can I find them if you did.
Another history lesson Ed ,nice one ,yes the old George was one of the first pubs I tried when I was a young kid ,it didn't look like that ,lol.Looks really nice now .Im expecting the lads to give Leicester a game on Sunday, going for a win.Glad those sports redirect signs coming down ,end of 14 years of being chained.Enjoy the game at the weekend mate
I forgot Bill Quay Farm existed. Lived in Pelaw before moving to Darlington later on as a kid. I remember spending a lot of time there now that you brought this back. We got burgled once and they stole a case with the family documents, we found out when Bill Quay farm rang us about our passports thrown all over the place in the morning (they ditched the case).
I'm make a mental note of all these pubs & cafes you visit Eddy. Will certainly visit them whenever in town. What's the story with the climbing rope over the shoulder ? Is it the lead for the dogs ? Seen it often in your videos
Just watched you at the South Shields Football match on the television son...I am a European Cup Winner with South Shields Football Club In Maastricht Holland In 1989...I would have thought with our connection you would put South Shields up as fast as humanly possible...
I'm delighted for you Guys that those Eyesore tacky signs are coming down. The Everton fans make me laugh, I'm sure that they are just so jealous of Liverpool. I have seen my team nearly go out of business, relegated to league one and in 2016 bought by a Mad Man but I never considered walking out. The Old George looks great, I do love Pubs with character. You have those Dogs well trained Eddie.
Ahh you ask a good question! The bus was taken to the Bill Quay Cafe earlier this year and then scum burnt it down 🤬 I mention it in the video I did at Bill Quay cafe and show a couple of pictures. Check it out 👍🏻
Growing up in Merseyside and living in the North West I have to say I know a lot of Everton fans personally and I always find it hard to listen to them when they moan about the lack of trophies being a Toon fan they want to walk in our shoes 😂 on record I sometimes say that to them Haha
Cheers Davey. Most of the other channels are carbon copies of each other and I think it’s best to be different and I’m trying to stamp my personality into this business 👊🏻 I’m still learning every day and loving it. Better videos to come for sure! Thanks again Davey 🙏🏻
