Great conversation. Carlos and Yolanda have so many thought provoking things to say and they're a load of fun. Some of the best videos on Booktube. Just sad I couldn't flip this up to 3.5x to get the most out of it.
Such a great chat to settle into on replay after a long work week!
Thanks my dude!
Greatest duo on booktube and the best host on UA-cam. This was perfect. ❤
Thank you friend!
Just catching up to this one and really loved this conversation. You are all great!
Thank you!
We’re sucking diesel now folks! Three of my favourite people chatting for a couple of hours, it doesn’t get much better than that! 😂
Let’s hope we all will chat in person soon mate!
Don't worry LitFic Jim (and Storytoob), i wouldn't be taking the piss out of you if I didn't like you. Yous are great craic.
Likewise lad! ❤
Such a great chat to catch on replay. Greatly admire you all
Thank you my friend ❤️
Nice chat and all, but MANY-COLORED LAND! 😲😀♥️ Read those multiple times as a teen and LOVED them. You’re in for a wild ride Jimmy. May has so disappeared from the SFF radar, I found myself recently completely unable to remember the book titles, and had to really do some research. Can’t wait to re-read them again, maybe soon(ish).
So far I’m loving it!
SOOOO disappointed I missed this one. Catching it on the replay. Some excellent topics covered in this one. It's funny even in my Goodreads reviews I state "in my opinion" and I've said it a few times in the few videos I've dropped. The internet is a fickle bitch. Excellent stream Jimmy with some of my favorite booktubers. Cheers.
Thank you Dan!
Does Jimmy and Allen not count as a booktube duo because if it does than I still don't know who I'd pick 😅 Great chat guys
😂😂😂
Jimmy I have to tell you I'm so happy that I stumbled onto your GOT stuff. I read all five in the past few months and I was amazed.
That makes me so happy
SAAAME!!!!!!
I know you love R Scott Bakker and I feel like we usually line up with book tastes, but I absolutely loathed Bakker. I don't want to go into details because I don't want to rail a book that you really liked.
I’ve heard it all before 😂
@@thefantasynuttwork Just know me and my friend ranted about our dislike about it 😂
@@currangill430 most do lol
How lovely to see Many Coloured Land mentioned. I read them all and the follow up series as a teen in the 80s. Loved them. Would really like to reread them at some point.
For Celtic fantasy, there's Juliet Marillier and someone who really has been forgotten Patricia Kenneally Morrison. And of course anything Arthurian has at least a fingertip on Celtic culture.
Great chat all, as I listen and struggle with insomnia after the UK time change :(
Time change is the worst!
2nd best guest spot for CWN! (1st is Allen by default). I'm currently reading Outer Dark by Cormac McCarthy and picked up A Little Life at my local bookshop today. Also found Ohio by Stephen Markley (Thank you Yolanda for shouting it out on StoryToob) at my local library too so I'm having an incredible day!!
It's been a while since I read Cormac McCarthy now and I'm again just floored by how good his prose and voice is even though the content of Outer Dark is pretty grim, at least the premise of it. Very excited to get to the other 2 previously mentioned books after.
Outer Dark is a really really interesting book. Ohio is fantastic!
I'm so glad I have listened to your conversation. There were so many interesting topics, and Yolanda and Carlos are always fun and cool. This is now one of my favourite CWN episodes.
And, Carlos, Perfect Days is in my top 3 of 2023. Such a delightful film.
This was one of my favorites as well!
Film UA-cam is a cesspit tbf. Carlos has a point. I'm a massive Doctor Who fan, but i borderline hate the online fandom so i stopped interacting altogether and sad to say i don't miss it that much.
Lots of toxicity
Couldn't agree more, they are definitely the best duo on booktube!! Exactly the type of chill chat I needed this weekend, thanks ☺
Our pleasure!
This was a great episode!
I got to see it live so no wall of text this time. I left that in the live chat 😎
Hahaha thanks bro!
The Chad and the Chads
100%
Wow , your discussion on Dickens and the cadence of chapter release and how it was meant to be read relates to my love of One Piece chapter releases and the wandering inn chapter releases. Mind. Blown.
Great point!
Excellent conversation. Yolanda and Carlos deserve loads more subscribers!
I agree!
I practically run the unofficial SFF bookclub at work 😅 Got some of my coworkers to read Piranesi and Farseer
Good stuff!
@@thefantasynuttwork and I got them to try Malazan but now I own them and have to try Rift War Saga and Legend.
Red Leopard is convoluted as fuck though
Very very dense
Loved Carlos talking about film in this episode. Im also similar in that I probably know most about film out of my interests. Also, Cabinet of Dr Caligari slaps
I just know I like explosions in movies 🍿
I don’t know man, your reading taste is becoming more and more refined and you read a lot of unique books. I think you’d probably appreciate quite a lot of what older world cinema has to offer
@@calvinstarr5228 probably true tbh
Great conversation 😊
Thanks!
