I've owned my 2010 R/T metallic black for 14 years, I'm never getting rid of it, I love it! Not ever going to drive it in the winter, even tho it has a block heater and nice heated seats.
@@Billk2978 I’m wondering the same thing. I also wonder if people, even many years from now, will continue to wonder...hey future people, did Elon send us to Mars? Thanks
@@MrDickiemarleyIf I recall, these things had a crappier time driving, even though the 10+ Dodge Challenger SRT8 manual coupe, and 07-09 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500, both had nearly identical Tremec TR-6060 manual (6MT) transmissions. Of course, GM took the same route and stuck that same trans into many of the Cadillac and Chevy V8 sports car, like the Corvette, CTS-V, and Camaro SS. The Dodge Viper of that era, as well as the sport cab RAM SRT-10, also had the same TR-6060 trans, but the Corvette’s transaxle design blew everything else away, performance-wise (for the tradeoff of more complicated, expensive maintenance/servicing).
Hey Josh, you're absolutely correct. I recently test drove a Challenger R/T Classic with a 6 speed manual and the 3.91 gearing and it definitely didn't feel slow at all. Even one of the crappy magazines ran a 13.5 @ 106 mph through the 1/4 mile with this car. For stock, it's plenty fast. Plus the updates made to the suspension for 2011 actually make this car handle really well for it's weight. It went around the skid pad @ 0.87G (Avg) in one test and 0.89G (Avg) in another. Not bad for about 4100 pounds.
By far, this is the retro muscle car to have...the Camaro and Mustang guys can fight about who's car is faster and better handlind, but everyone stops to stare at the Challenger! Later.
I'd take this over both camaro and mustang even if it is a second or so slower than both of them. I'm a sucker for the old school look, and this car captures the 1970 challenger to a T. It's fucking amazing. This is what a muscle car is supposed to look like.
A muscle car with an automatic transmission is not good to me... finally someone listened to my prayer I´m getting one of this... but it may take a while
My RT Plus Shaker 6 speed is insane fun, and killer looks and sound. Modding can bring it to the higher trims, but plenty of street able performance as stock tune, in my experience.
i love this car. looks and feels like a old muscle car. has a good engine, interior, transmission (6 speed manual) good looks huge trunk why not buy this? has 4 seats idgaf about gas mileage 23+ is good enough for me!
2010 RT manual was great. Still have mine. 34k with a blower & SRT8 springs. Not going anywhere. I cant remember a 2-SS being that cheap back then. He had to have meant 1-SS.
I need y'all advice need help Iam getting a challenger soon I need find color that an eye catcher like Yellow rt black strips or Orange RT Black strips or Pink with White any other colors Plz help hard option I hate ALl black cause everyone have Black challenger
@whiteboy5480 Yeah, the v8 mustang is the lightest, has the best handling, and obviously fastest of the three. I was just talking about the looks though. I like how this car stick with a real classic look and the camaro has this futuristic look and at the same time incorporates that with the classic look. I think the reason the mustang doesn't appeal very much to me with looks is because they've looked almost exactly the same for the past 6 years.
Just drove the auto version of this 15 min ago...great sound, great looks, but.... it's so numb and heavy. I'm used to japanese and european sports> cars, and man this felt like driving a truck or an 'angry coupe' version of my mom's '78 oldsmobile station wagon.
i didn't expect anything, really. Was a loaner to my friend while his car was in the shop (possibly a slightly knackered rental, obviously)...was just bummed that it wasn't more fun/capable than a truck or station wagon.
@BULLITTx357 For some reason i like the Challenger, even though it's a horrid car from my point of view. I still like it. But i would love a Camaro/Mustang price on it. Oh and i would LOVE those prices here in Europe. 23 thousand bucks for a 300 bhp car, that is value let me tell you that.
@Nightowl358 He has a lemon or he doesnt no how to maintaine his car. These cars are really in the shop. Now the new 5.0 on the other hand lol cant keep them running.
@TwoFacedScarecrow13 dont look at it that way...education is something more than money. I'm going to college this fall because I want to do something useful in life and not to get a 392..
I like how this car and the camaro looks over the stang. It's only a shame that this only puts out 378hp with a hemi tsk tsk. If only this were faster and not so damn massive I'd take it over the camaro.

Dodge seriously nailed it in rebuilding this classic. Awesome work.
A Challenger R/T 6-speed WILL be my next car!
By far the nicest of the 60's muscle car recreations.
@@Billk2978 I’m wondering the same thing. I also wonder if people, even many years from now, will continue to wonder...hey future people, did Elon send us to Mars? Thanks
How's the car after all these years

Love that detonator yellow with the classic package.

I remember watching this review in 2010 , just last July I picked up a 2021 Challenger T/A , such a joy to own.
That’s awesome! Congratulations.

The first models were very modest and functional.
I LOVE those wheels
I just bought this exact same car, color and everything! ❤❤❤
Good choice!
How's the performance, and does it feel different from new models v8 RT
actually a 1970 challenger with a 440 weighed in at 3800 lbs
A muscle car with an automatic transmission is not good to me... finally someone listened to my prayer I´m getting one of this... but it may take a while

Great looking muscle car!! I like the 2011 updates as well.
Nice car Steve hiwd it I'll do holding up?

Nice video! I am owner of 2010 R/T Furious Fuchsia. 2010 & 2011 were best years of pre-facelift gen of Chally
I still think the one made in the 70s look way better , But as long as they are black the new ones are not so bad .
I need y'all advice need help Iam getting a challenger soon I need find color that an eye catcher like Yellow rt black strips or Orange RT Black strips or Pink with White any other colors Plz help hard option I hate ALl black cause everyone have Black challenger
i have the same exact model , color and i love it!
Yeh but in 1970 that 370 hp wasnt linked to 4000 Ilbs the car was a very light girl then
3800 lbs? Not by much.
I love Dodge Challenger 2010 r/t
I just bought one. My 2001 mustang gt got to 300k miles so it was time for an upgrade
A Hemi V8 day?
I love this car

why am i here!!! i drive a subaru lol
15 mpg city thats like a H1 oh my god
@vboytan
are you kidding me the Challenger R/T takes the Camaro SS with no problem
Might be able to pull one for my first car lmao
I saw one for sale in the uk for £27.000 370hp if you wanted to buy a car euro car it would of cost twice as much
@MyBoondockSaint I'm a huge Mopar fan, but this is simply not true. If you want to compete with the Camaro SS, you need the SRT8, or the 392
Or a "Demon " or "super stock hellcat " .to dust them all ..
@TwoFacedScarecrow13
exactly.
Dodge should have made this one the Charger based on it's size and weight.
Hi. If i ever need your help?

its an oversized tire roaster ... what did you expect?
i didn't expect anything, really. Was a loaner to my friend while his car was in the shop (possibly a slightly knackered rental, obviously)...was just bummed that it wasn't more fun/capable than a truck or station wagon.
shaft9000 it's all in the drivers skill set... I grew up driving 4,000 lb Rwd V8s... it just takes a little bit more effort to go fast..
@BULLITTx357 the srt8 is almost corvette money
Very necessary!
@BULLITTx357 For some reason i like the Challenger, even though it's a horrid car from my point of view. I still like it. But i would love a Camaro/Mustang price on it.

3.92 gearing, sorry.
Don't smoke that shit anymore.
I would just get a job, save the money, so then i could drive to college
Why would you go to College to get a Challenger... College USES your money. :P
The 1 person who Disliked this bought a Neon
@TwoFacedScarecrow13 dont look at it that way...education is something more than money. I'm going to college this fall because I want to do something useful in life and not to get a 392..
The car has break paddles ? no shit ?
I like how this car and the camaro looks over the stang. It's only a shame that this only puts out 378hp with a hemi tsk tsk. If only this were faster and not so damn massive I'd take it over the camaro.
