Hi
oh you are here PARMESAN
RIP Mean Gene
THEE BEST!
Lmao wtf
Rest in peace George Steele! Thanks for the Great memories
What kind of tiger is this George? Detroit! I'm dying! 🤣🤣🤣
It was like a Beetlejuice answer
Lol 😆 that was great!
I loved Mean Genes response...."he does seem a bit sleepy this season"
That must have stung some Tigers fans that year. 😂
“shiek!”
“Yes, that’s a camel.”
Iron!!!
@@dabunnyrabbit2620 Original! Ed Farhat! The REAL Sheik...who the Iron Wannabe stole the gimmich from!
The Original Sheik & Iron Sheik were friends..Also both respected each other as both of them came from Middle East
Lol 😆
camels are abundant in The Iron Shiek’s Homeland
He was a very intelligent man, great gimmick, coach, pastor, legend... RIP
I agree 🙂
Definitely.
I heard he was also an Olympic level "skier" too 👃 ❄️ ⛷️
Guy held a masters degree.
He was a corporate goon.
He ain't gone they just released him back into the wild😥
They wished him the best on his future endeavors.
Luckily in 2K24, you can have the animal Batista vs the animal George Steele.
@@stevengadzinski2802But the wrong version of Batista. A prime Batista between 2005 and 2008 would be great.
@@Lemmi7810 why do they give us new versions we only want them in there prime. This isn’t nba 2k they don’t have to be so realistic, why would I want to play with an old barista or John cena I want them 00-08 prime only
@@dcarlion yeah im a ruthless aggression era guy
Now it's George" the Rogan" steele
That's all you could think of...
That's exactly what guided me here. Haha
Rest in peace George. Thank you for all the laughter and love.
George "The Animal" Steele is a Detroit Treasure! I wish I was at the Detroit Zoo that day..."Mean" Gene and "The Animal" are Fantastic!
Wish I was alive when this wrestling was on tv. He seems so entertaining. Rip mate
I remember him well in his prime. Always entertaining, fun and funny to watch. I remember when a friend told me he was a highly educated teacher when he wasn't in the ring. I didn't believe him but it was True!
He was!
Thomas Ennis - When I was younger “Saturday Nights Main Event” was a huge deal.
so funny whenever he was on XD
It’s was great - Saturday Nights Main Event was a huge deal when it was in in place of Saturday night Live.
"Heenan!" I lost it!
im only 11 but still i have watched alot of his matches. RIP George Steele. prayers go out to his family
Fireball 2006 you're a nice, respectful, well-wishing, young man. Nice to see. I agree, R.I.P., Dear George Steele. Our prayers go out to the family. Well said... :)
@@dracomalfoy1784 lol 😂😂😂
Ik I'm late
George Steele typically resided at the zoo. He preferred to be around creatures like himself and felt more comfortable in a natural habitat.
Growing up watching WWF in the 80's my family loved George the Animal Steele. On St. Patty's day we'd use the green food coloring to dye our tongue and we would do all the Animal movements. He was great. Funny how I just recently discovered how he was more then just the goofy guy we all loved in the WWF. Rest in Peace George! We will miss you....
Ase buen tiempo ese video.
Crack cocaine era..
if someone were to see this with no knowledge of George they'd think mean gene was just interviewing a autistic man at the zoo.
Georgian Gaming no he was actually a school teacher and an intelligent man
He had dyslexia as a child.
Shareef K. It was part of his gimmick ffs!
Ahahaha. Jokes aside, RIP George 'The Animal' Steele.
Shareef K. he's dead
I love George, his character and everything fits him just right. Wrestling these days is not the same from the old days.
He lived 2 miles from my house so apparently I live in Parts Unknown Michigan
Never met a wrestling fan that didn't like this guys act. What a great wrestler and great person
He was a local here in cocoa beach, he always signed autographs and took pics with his fans, great man, RIP my friend
Absolute legend. He will be missed.
It would take someone pretty intelligent to pull off his character...
Just watched an interview of him out of character, he was.
Rip George. Your heart may have gone out but your soul is still out there!
Another great legend gone but will never be forgotten. Thank you George "The Animal" Steele for entertaining me during my childhood and putting a smile on my face. May you Rest In Peace and God bless you. 🙂
He’s was a very respected gym, football and wrestling teacher at Madison High school where his wife was a math teacher and brother was superintendent of school district. Wonderful man
I'm 55 so I go back a long way with the wwwf/wwe. I don't know if they can be found on youtube, but way back, when George wrestled Bruno and later Pedro for the championship, he used to cut some awesome promos. He was a great talker, not on the level of Piper or Heenan, but far above average. I'd bet no one else has ever made as much money in wrestling playing dumb. R.I.P. my friend. You were a great man.
This was absolutely brilliant! Mean Gene Okerlund's comments were hilarious, too. Funny lines!
George steel best wrestler ever ❤
I remember watching all this back in the 80s. RIP George.
I remember seeing his matches at Cobo Arena in the 60s and 70s. He was a great worker and human being.
His feud with Macho Man Randy Savage was epic. The green tongue and eating turnbuckles are something to never forget.
Hysterical!! I love how Mene Gene is still wearing the nice watch. And the references to Bundy & Heenan. Rip to both of the greats!! I miss the old days of wrestling.
he was incredibly intelligent for his condition
What kind of tiger is that? DETROIT! Lol!! I loved me some George “The Animal” Steele. I used to imitate him and my dad used to crack up! Great character! RIP Mr Steele!
Gene was such a great companion for the wrestlers! And George was such a favourite of mine as a kid!
I'm 40 and I remember being young and watching the animal wrestle .he never did much but if he was on that night ,it was a packed house .rest in peace brother
A true money maker gimmick!!! I wonder how much money he made not just himself but the business of wrestling..he was golden, and i also wonder if he created it himself...?
Thank you for making my childhood exciting! You will be missed
This is classic. I remember watching this some 30+ years ago on Saturday Night's Main Event. Still funny to this day.
"How now, brown cow?"
...and coffee passed through my nose.
This is a great bit. Jim Meyers had a long career and really pulled off the animal gig to perfection.
I work at the Detroit Zoo it's looks exactly the same lol
Famous tag team wrestler of the 50s and 60s Ivan Kalmikoff also worked for a number of years at the Detroit Zoo. He was head of maintenance and a great human being and friend.
George had such unique facial expressions for his character, not a single one of his pupils ever recognized him on tv as their gym teacher
George was the best thing in the WWF ! If he was on the card I would be at the Phila. Spectrum to LMAO ! Never be another Animal God bless you George Steele ! Thanks for the memories !
Very entertaining back then. RIP George.
The Animal was always one of my favorite characters. RIP George, thanks for sharing your amazing talent with the world.
wwe could never be this good anymore
"Looks to me like they're half monkey and half weasel."
"HEENAN!!!"
😂
Oh those were the days as a kid in the mid to late 80s watching WWF every Saturday and Sunday. The plot line w Steele getting the electro shock therapy still cracks me up. Truth was Animal was a very bright man, nothing like the character he portrayed.
He was great. RIP
I miss George I live in Detroit I wish I could meet him

*Runs 5 feet away from her into the bushes and stares*
Jim Myers was terrific playing George The Amimal Steele, one of the most memorable characters in pro wrestling history.
My favorite character---the funniest of all---one of a kind!!!
very sad to hear of his passing..another legend gone..:(
I lived in Madison heights for a few years in the late 80s and early 90s, we would have huge D.A.R.E rallys and he would attend until one year in 92 when I think he has his first cancer bout. When he calls it a Detroit tiger and mean gene says they are a little sleepy this year..ouch..lol. it was one year after they had won the world series
I remember when this was first on TV. George The Animal Steele & Mean Jean were awesome! Always funny.
George the Animal was one of my all time favourites. I remember this. classic
George The Animal Steele Was One Of The Craziest guys in TV In 1980s
He Was Really Funny Back Then
R.I.P George "The Animal" Steele
The Animal vs. Macho Man with Elizabeth at WrestleMania 2, plus The Dragon with George vs. Savage with Liz at Mania 3, will always be my best memories of this Legend!
"How now brown cow!" LMMFAO .. Eatting turn buckles with that green tongue.. I was sold.. R.I.P. George
Oh,the 80’s. Life was just better back then.
George the Animal Steele is one of a kind..l remember watching him on t.v. back then..how can anyone not love the Animal..Eating turnbuckles, green tongue..hairy AF..YOUU!!
entertainment at it's best!
"Jungle" Gene Okerlund... LOOOOOOOL
Rest in peace legend
George we all miss you so very much rip 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Mean Gene was the best at what he did and Steele an educated hus- band & father provided all his fans, me included with countless outbursts of laughter, mostly hystericall. If I may say in jest he may have gone over the top on turnbuckle consumption! God rest his multitalented and loving family man soul !
Genius. He really was
r.i.p thank you for the good shows 1985 I was 5 years old or 4
Thank you, George! RIP!
amazing gene's mic wire was so long.
Man, the 80s were such a different time it seemed. Much more lax, more human.
Man played his character so well, it was scary.
This is hilarious!
George "The Animal" Steele played Tor Johnson in Ed Wood(1994). Man of Steele.
Am I'm wrong to say Mean gene would been perfect narrator for some aniaml life show
Elephantus maximus also know as the elephant. 😂
This is more good than today s era
just googled him a few days ago and now he's dead
Who'd have ever believed that in reality he was an intelligent, college educated teacher who was also a devout Christian. Miss you George, you were the best.
George pays homage to his first promotional boss when he points at the camel and says "Sheik"! Not the Iron Wannabe, but the REAL Sheik! Ed Farhat!
George naming the animals through wrestlers names
Shiek!
Heenan!
Bundy!
R.i.p king of Detroit
George the Animal; King Kong Bundy; Adrian Adonis, Andre the Giant and Macho Man. These were great gimmicks. I miss those days.
😢 I miss him he’s my favorite wrestler and my dads favorite wrestler
I find the fact he wrestled on weekends and did PE during the week hysterical. I find it even funnier the kids caught on.
Rip George, thanks for all the laughs.
1:59 Heenan
My green MP trainer... RIP The Animal
Bye George! Thanks for the memories!
God damn, that Detroit Tiger joke made me laugh harder than it should. RIP George Steele
They loved The Animal on Belinda Avenue. I can still see Brian's grandfather screaming at the television with a handful of saw dust and lighter fluid, and that was before they turned it on.
R.I.P
0:58 when school is out for 108 days
Classic. I remember watching this way back when.
i remember watching this as it aired oct 5 1985 priceless
His wrestling tights with the red stripe down the sides along with his green tongue 😂
RIP
He was a teacher. Despite the weird character he played, he looked good. You could feel that he was a nice person!
A bygone era. RIP George!
This would have bin a great idea for a kids show . Gene the adventurer where gene went on adventures with different wrestlers learning about different cultures and animals .
They should have done a Tape called mean gene adventures .
1995 when raw was better than smackdown
me to
Not really. I mean there was no Smackdown
meekail there was you dumb duck
Smackdown's first episode was in 1999 lmao
ok,but it was thoght of in 1995 by vince.
"Goodbye George, goodbye!" RIP
Rest In Peace, George. I still miss you.
