Hey Phoenix! I'm TCGplayer's resident Magic: the Gathering finance columnist, and also an eBay reseller and fan of the channel =) When you're looking at Magic cards newer than mid-1998, the little expansion symbol on the card will denote rarity and give you a really good idea of whether or not the card is likely to have value. It's the little symbol to the lower right of the graphic image. Black and Silver are common and uncommon, while gold and orangey-gold are rare and mythic rare. This is basically what you need to know at garage sales, because if you flip through a stack and find some rares, the chances are good that the lot is unpicked and could have gems in it. If not, it is probably someone clearing the bulk out of their collection, which is only worth $5-$8 per THOUSAND cards. Obviously if you find pre-1998 collections, they're likely worth picking up regardless since more of the commons and uncommons have value. Magic is unlike Pokemon in that vast amounts of bulk/chaff cards have far less value, so you should be careful picking up lots like that. Happy to provide more tips if you want - I've learned a lot about game reselling from your channel!
Whys the tcg app suck? 75 percent of the time I scan a magic card.... even sometimes pokemon cards. And dont get me started on yu gi oh cards it tells me it's a different card than what it is. Theres so many resellers that find cards and use your app and it tells the wrong info.

As someone who enjoys and loves collectible trading cards of Pokémon, Dragon Ball, Naruto, Sailor Moon, etc, I am TOTALLY ENVIOUS of your find of that entire box. Unopened new packs of cards are just my cup of tea. What a DEAL!!
With magic cards there are different tiers running from common, uncommon, rare, to mythic rare. They are color coded black, blue, gold, and orange respectively on the little symbol under the bottom right of the picture on the card. You can focus on the rare and mythics out of a big lot and look them up without having to sort through and research every card.

That's not a very effective strategy if you want customers to come back though.
The “she knows too much” , made me laugh hahaha. Good video.
(He threw out the kaiba box) SMH
Idk how people can get rid of stuff like that Pikachu Gameboy. That’s like a childhood treasure. I still have some of my childhood jewels but I lost mostly everything like that in Hurricane Katrina. I Would love to go through those early chapters from time to time if I could.
@Light Dark I disagree. It looked like he was doing just fine, a yard sale is usually just for extra cash. I can understand if it wasn’t though, and they seriously needed it. You’re definitely assuming though, and I can name 10 reasons as to why he could of kept it. Money doesn’t solve everything, and having an attachment to some materialistic things is definitely okay if it brings you happiness.
Pikachu world collection! That’s a good one
Damn I had a few of those Pikachu cards as a kid crazy what the memory holds. My collection was huge! My pops threw my whole collection away when he kicked me out at 16 blessings to the soul that found them 🤣
*Pulls out lands*
"There's no lands in there"
The clips you put are hilarious 😂
I’m a magic player honestly I would snatch those up easily. Even some commons have value in them. 10$ a box would get my attention. I could have easily priced your magic cards. I’ve been playing since I was small
You flipped the Pikachu set😲 you trying to give me a heart attack?!
1:12 my jaw dropped when he open that box and that Seto Kaiba Starter Deck was in view :O 5 bucks
that pikachu collection is mad how much profit you made, if you got the birthday pikachu alone for $50 you would be really lucky. Congrats on that 🎉
That pikachu set is a rerun of all the top most desirable cards and you would get them by buying comics I believe and the first one came with a binder. Add it’s called the pikachu world collection
Dude I got so weak at the math part 🤣 funny I love it
Honestly you could probably resale each MTG box for about 15-20$ per box at most if it’s all common but depending on the set some uncommon cards are high value
Anyone who plays Magic Isn’t dumb enough to pay $15-20 for those boxes lol the only thing worth keeping are lands but even those aren’t worth much
those deals were AMAZING
Dude that started deck kiba box is worth something, the original decks with the old Konami logo is nostalgic af
Lmao @ 3:19..... Lololol..
Wake up,, wake up,, wake up!,!!!
I need them games..
1:05 Ahhhhh Kaiba starter deck 😳🤯🌋🌪☄
I like the facts about stuff that pops up reminds of pawn stars lol
For magic the gathering they have indicators if they are common. Black symbol located middle right is common, silver is uncommon, gold is rare, then if it's orange color its a mythic rare
This Pokevid was Pokesweeeet!
