Completely agree Pam! As a white woman...I find Candace so refreshing. For years I had such terrible confusion over our Countries past, our complicated racial history, systems that prevent minorities from accumulating generational wealth, etc. But thankfully Candace came along and simply told me everything is just A OK, no need to grapple with these complicated questions or feel guilty about my own disposition...I mean hell, Jim Crow was what? Like 50 years ago? And sheesh..slavery was like 150 years ago? And these ungrateful "victims" still complain? They need to be more like Candace...pull themselves up by their bootstraps...and start a lucrative career pandering to white people like me. Is that really so difficult?

Last week I believe Wednesday was the first time I told my older brother that I supported Trump. I'm hispanic, it started when we first got into how I was feeling really down and began crying that I won't be able to make it this school year and later in life. My brother would do his beast in comforting me which I much appreciated, this was about 20 min. He told me that you know you can tell me anything. For the first time I felt that now I can truly tell him anything, I always kept things to myself, and so there it came out. Aw soon as he realized what I meant, man, it was like a different person treating me. I didn't felt like crying anymore but did worry that he'd do something, now when I see warm light I can't get rid of that memory. From that talk I knew that if I stayed my brother wouldn't be seeing me the same way as before. So I ran away the next day when I kept hearing my brother say that I was wrong in my beliefs, but what surprised me was my sister's didn't care whether I supported Trump, I could hear my older sister try to defend me way that he was not being a brother to me. When he went out back I started walking and kept walking outside somewhere. I knew that if didn't want to live in a life where I'm looked at completely different from my own family. They went to find me, I stayed where I was, texted some pals of mine. Ultimately I went back when these great policemen came to talk to me and how they've experiences these similar events happen to them too. So yeah I stood by my values, at that time it didn't matter to me what was gonna happen to me, I was ready to just go, but I'm back now.

A lot has been brought to light and it’s up to my generation to keep a spotlight on the issues but it’s up to you younger people to not give up and keep patriotism and morality alive.
