P.S...I realize this will rub many wrong but it is what it is and is the truth. I have no qualms with any older folks here doing the nomad thing but when you are out there wasting your 20's and 30's away sitting in the desert, you WILL regret it in the future (no videos about this, huh?). Besides, you can always do the nomad thing while working a real job, owning a real home, etc. on weekends, vacations, etc. And if you do it right, as I did, you'll own your home free and clear AND be retired before 50 and can do the nomad thing in comfort and financial security full time then if you wish. Many vanlifers "justify" their poor decisions in many ways, including how great it is in the desert/forest (yes, it can be and is) but its not like you cant do it along the way. But hey, its great being poor out there so everyone says, so enjoy it while you can. There's no logical reason anyone in their peak physical and earning years should be sitting out in the desert FULL TIME making some meager income (yt?) that will not take care of themselves throughout their lives going forward. There, finally someone told ya'll the other side.

Okay, y’all… so, a couple of corrections to this video🤪…the black curtains have since been switched out to true blackout curtains, & the “ceramic” tea kettle is in fact cast iron.
I absolutely love it! I am a disabled senior who travels part time for suicide awareness in my 2010 wheelchair dodge grand caravan. I am a big girl so my bed and my wheelchair takes up most of the van. However I still like it to look nice. You gave me several ideas! While I try to find everything at yard sales, thrift stores or on Facebook marketplace I have gotten a lot of ideas from your video!❤ Thank you

Omg as a suicide survivor looking into van life I would love to be able to do something like this! How can I get started are there any organizations you would recommend
I just inherited the Chevy Express van my daddy bought 9 days before he passed, 6 weeks ago. Daddy was an electrician by trade and had big plans for the van, but I literally have no idea what I'm doing. Every other video I've seen has people installing solar panels and cabinets and professional lighting and I don't know how to even get started on any of that without electrocuting myself, cutting off all my fingers, or setting the van on fire. So I'm super glad I found this video, because you made it look really adorable and cozy without any table saws and drills and lumber. This project just because way less intimidating to me. ❤
My condolences for your loss.🙏🏽 I think it’s beautiful that you are going to be living your life to the fullest in a space where your loved one also spent time. I lost someone close to me years ago, and I’ve recently committed to living a life that he would be proud of! In regards to installing electrical, & using all of the heavy duty equipment, I am right there with you! A no-build set up is not only custom & cozy, but is easy, safe, and can be changed within minutes, versus having to spend days or weeks, making modifications! Best wishes on your build, & travels! Thanks for watching my video!🤍
Solar panels is the way to go. Her battery that charges her cooler has to be recharged frequently I wonder what is behind the curtains. She didn't show that. Was I missing anything? I will rewatch. A pee bottle? For a woman? Collapsible toilet is what I would use. There are collapsible toilets that are all plastic and expand to open. They don't break your skin.
I totally agree with everything this person said, and I now believe I could set myself up too! Your little van is just adorable and cozy….super cute and budget friendly. You are adorable too, so you should keep us tuned in to how this is all going for you🌷. I am totally hoping there is a list somewhere of all of what you have stocked this sweet home on wheels with, and where to buy these things or comparable. I will be on a budget too, but loving cozy cuteness myself! One last question, how to you stay ‘stealth” …meaning how to you park in a city or residential area without getting ticketed. Please tell me HOW LONG in feet and inches is your van in total? Some places where I am going determine where you can park based on how long the vehicle is (over 20 feet, sometimes).
YES YES YES!!! Finally! Exactly what I am looking for that I can do!! Thank you so much! There is hope for me finally being able to do what I have wanted to do for the last 35 years! You are awesome!
This just ignited my passion and dream for a converted van! It's beautiful, easy and affordable. I really appreciate this because one of the biggest frustrations is not having any building experience. With some flooring and installation for my cold weather in NY. I can realistically see this come to fruition. Thank you!!
Nice! We too left the metal exposed and used the magnetic options to utilize it for all kinds of things! Once you get the bed figured out - the rest is downhill! It was important for us to be able to move around without needing to change things all of the time!
@@weekendlovinggypsy1737heat can be accomplished with thick blankets and blackout curtains, as long as you're following the weather. My kids and I were living in a shed January-August 2021, and we set up black-out curtains around the bed during the cold months by putting them on a hula hoop and hanging from the ceiling. It was still cold, but it was warmer in the bed than the rest of the shed. My littles only complained during the absolutely coldest nights, but by keeping my knees bent/feet flat on the bed under the blankets, they didn't get smothered, and our combined body heat circulated well enough for them to sleep. You can also boil some water and pour it into a terra cotta pot, or set your crock pot up with some soup overnight.

Love the no build. I am gathering you don't need a lot of internal insulation based on where you are located as would be really cold 🥶 in the winter. I part-time car camp in a big car transition was this July from a tiny car. The bigger the space I think you feel the chill more so I have added things to ensure comfortablilty. Love my new space but not cluttering so thought about my no build more which is packed away once my car camp is over. 🇬🇧 solo female car camper. Stay safe and blessed.
Thanks, Happy Days!🙏🏽💛✨ Initially, I didn’t think I would need much insulation, as it typically doesn’t get too cold where I live; however, the chill in the air has me thinking of viable options to stay cozy when inside of the van. I do have cold weather preps, but may add some Reflectix to the interior as well. I don’t want to add spray foam, or any insulation other than that in this rig, as I only travel part time currently. I will definitely add insulation in a future build, once I travel more frequently. Thanks again for your comment! Safe travels & God bless!✨

Thanks so much, C!✨ I purchased the futon chair about six years ago from Overstock. Although they no longer carry the same style, they have a vast selections of similar styles, with similar dimensions.

Laki, i am legit watching this with my mouth agape. This is unreal. You did an amazing job with this van. Wow! I love the multifunction of everything. Girl you got thinking about living in a van and just drive my Mini to go to work and get around. 🤔
This is actually pretty brilliant! You could also add an outdoor shower off the back door, but you'd need a larger water tank. There are also fold up awnings that you could attach to the side of your van for covered outside area. Trent and Allie have one that they've used in many ways. Everything is so beautifully compact and you've got it pretty well ordered. Honestly, the only changes I would make to your clever set up is to arrange it for my needs. I will admit that the bamboo-topped box is a little iffy to me, but, honey, I outweigh you muchly, so there's that. You have created a lovely setup and I hope you enjoy it thoroughly!
So cute! I love your set-up! I put some of your items in my wish list. I love the lamp with the timer so much! I also love your storage containers! It looks so comfy in there. Just beautiful! Thank you for giving your tour! 🌹

I have a truck with a softopper now but one of my best campers was my Honda mini van. I had more head room when sitting on the bed eating or making a sandwich or getting dressed.

@@lakikaia lol I was going to ask you about how you setup the projector but I saw the other video you have about it. Looks like the projector has pretty good reviews as well. Do you ever use it in the daytime? If you do, how's the picture when there's a lot of light?
@@TravelingGamer_ It’s a pretty good projector for the small space that I’m in. I have blackout curtains in the van, so I can’t speak to its picture quality in the light. The only con I can speak of is its limited volume. For the van, it’s perfect; however, if you’re using it in a larger space, I would definitely recommend pairing it with a Bluetooth speaker. Overall, I would rate it a 9/10! 🙌🏽
Lol no worries I'm in a van as well, I mounted a monitor on a swivel mount but I have been thinking about projector as well for bigger picture. Thanks for the info and thanks for sharing, maybe I'll get around to posting stuff again. 😅 Happy travels 🤙🏾
I’m excessive weight as I lay… Lol 😂 wow you got a lot of modular items into that small space.. I like the no build concept.. I did something like your build .. Do you have a heated blanket or something for warmth ? So for more storage overhead.. try using a net that attaches to your magnetic hooks 🪝.. you can find trunk nets or interior tent nets .. good luck 🍀
Oh goodness!😁 Yes, just this past weekend I’ve added an electric blanket; storing it inside of another pillowcase. I’ve also ordered a small 200 watt personal heater. I also have a modular sleeping system to use if it gets too cold, but will probably use this as a last resort because it is an absolute pain to get back inside of its packing bag. Thanks for the suggestion on overhead storage!!!🙌🏽✨
Just come across your video. Thank you for all your info! Love your home and you are adorable. My wife and I are going to "binge" watch some others. Blessings!
If you wanted to make your bed to where you don’t need the tote underneath. And make it sturdy with added weight; take two blocks of wood, and measure your leg depth. Then use a wood boring bit the size of your legs on your sofa and drill to that depth. Great job on your no build van build. I wish you the best.
I definitely switched to true “blackout” curtains since this video was made (if you’re referring to the black curtains). If you’re referring to the beige curtains, I loved those as well 😍 They just became a bit of a headache when adjusting the curtains, or when navigating from the front of the van to the back of the van. I’m storing them in case I ever want to use them in the future. Thanks for watching the video!✨
Whilst i appreciate its a no build but its of no use in cold or hot weather because of the lack of insulation. Im in the UK and if the weather is under 15°c during the day, it gets to 0-5 at night. With me and the dog the van would be freezing but also have lots of condensation, longer term mildew and mould. Super pretty and love some of the storage ideas.
There are some regions of the U.S. with similar conditions to yours in the UK. I’d definitely recommend insulation in such climates. Where I reside, such extreme weather conditions are rare. Thanks for watching!✨
Here from winterisblu 💙. Your little tea / kitcheny spot is so cute 🥺. The collapsible sink 😮 The whole space is so cozy. I might invest in something like this in case i have to start physically working in the office again. I struggle with fatigue so i often need a cozy nap space. This would be perfect.

I like how you make it happen. Wow you are inspiring.
Thanks so much, Fonz!💛✨
I love some of your ideas. The table is cute and stores easy. And I love the light
Thanks so much!💛 I found the table at a local Homegoods store. I loved the design & aesthetic of the natural wood!😍Plus, it fits perfectly snug beside the futon chair.
You’re welcome. You’re way younger. I’m much older need a bit more space for storage. But your van super cute
I didn’t see the bed listed in the description box. Great idea. Very cute little space. Love the little table! Nice job!
Thanks so much, C!✨ I purchased the futon chair about six years ago from Overstock. Although they no longer carry the same style, they have a vast selections of similar styles, with similar dimensions.
@@lakikaiaare they called sleep mode futons?? Im searching and cant find!!
@@lakikaiai have same van. Do you know dimensions of bed?
Very stylish and practical. Nice job!
Thanks, Linda!✨
Love this no build van! Best one I’ve seen. ❤
Thanks so much!💛✨
I absolutely love your Ford. I am literally getting ready to buy one and do the no build as well!
:) :) :) Thanks for sharing
That’s exciting!!!🙌🏽 So happy you’ve found inspiration in my no-build!💛 I love the versatility of a no-build! Safe & happy travels! Feel free to message me should you have any questions when you’re setting yours up!✨
Laki, i am legit watching this with my mouth agape. This is unreal. You did an amazing job with this van. Wow! I love the multifunction of everything. Girl you got thinking about living in a van and just drive my Mini to go to work and get around. 🤔
Girl, you got me over here cheesin’ like it’s picture day!! Thanks for all the love!🥰
Thanks so much, Jane!🙏🏽💛✨
Thank you so much for your detailed list of "ingredients" and where to purchase them! Excellently done! ❤🎉❤🎉❤🎉❤🎉
Thanks!
So cute! I love your set-up! I put some of your items in my wish list. I love the lamp with the timer so much! I also love your storage containers! It looks so comfy in there. Just beautiful! Thank you for giving your tour! 🌹
Awe!✨ Thanks so much!🙏🏽💛 It has become one of my favorite spaces. It’s a small getaway from the daily grind. Looking forward to traveling even more! Thanks so much for watching my videos! And you’ll love the dimmable light… it’s so convenient & aesthetically pleasing!
@@lakikaia I bought your 🥰 cute lamp with the timer! Just had to have it. Love it! And want to buy the storage things with the zippers. So nice! I wish I had your van. I'm outfitting my 2015 Honda CRV. LOL 🤣 MY HUSBAND got freaked out at first but he's better. Today I bought a cute shower curtain that is not black to cut in half to leave in the car to go behind the front seats. He laughed at that but it's ok cuz I love it! Hahaha. I'm so glad I found you. How exciting it is for your travels. XO following. ❤️
@@thereseshine7506 Love that!💛 And thanks so much for the love! Honda CRV’s are actually pretty stellar for a conversion! So funny about your husband!😂 I’m glad to hear he has warmed up to the idea! Wishing you the best in your adventure as well. Feel free to message me should you have any questions along the way! So happy for you!!! 🙏🏽🙌🏽💛 Blessings! Safe travels!
@@lakikaia Thank you. Safe happy travels to you!
I love every single thing about your build! You are a lovely inspiration. I'm definitely going to follow you, and utilize some of your creative brilliance. 🧡
Awe!💛 Thanks so much! 🙏🏽✨
I have a truck with a softopper now but one of my best campers was my Honda mini van. I had more head room when sitting on the bed eating or making a sandwich or getting dressed.
Very cool!✨ Head room is definitely a plus! I prefer my van camper to my suv setup for that exact reason! Thanks for commenting. Happy & safe travels to you!
OMG! This van tour is giving HGTV status. I looooove this!!
Don’t have me over thinking I can call them up for a photo op! Lol! Girl, wait until I get another van! I’ma have it looking like a luxury studio, lol! Thanks again for all the love!!🫶🏽🙌🏽
@ Absolutely! You should totally do it too!
Amazing accent!!! 😃lol plus I've never seen a no-build look so well put together! thanks for the major inspiration!!!
Thanks! 🥰
Im glad i finally found a video that the metal was not covered up.ive been looking for a simple way to make it liveable and best use of storage without spending a lot of $ because my 2011 tc has 287k miles..i want everything removable in case the motor or trans goes..i got it for free . I have an old futon i was gonna get rid of but im gonna go see if it fits in here.right now i have a very comfortable cot..but its nit set up for best use of storage without moving stuff around and im travelling with my dog for first time in 2 months..thanks again..got some great ideas.
Thanks, Janet!✨I completely agree with your plan for your Connect! All the best with your new setup and travels!💛
This is the best video setup I've seen for this model,,thank you for ideas
Thanks so much!💖
I love your accent... very lovely no build van build!
Thanks so much! I’ve always had the most country accent, lol. But thank you so much for appreciating it! 🙏🏽💛
I really like your simple set up. Classy, comfy and affordable. I would have to have a van I could stand up in, but great ideas. 😊
Amazing. Thank you for sharing your precious & charmy Van images. It's beautiful.

Awww Epic Legendary out of this world build you got there !!! If I look at your van too long I suddenly start liking my no build less lol just kidding ...you really nailed the build perfect!!
Oh no!😂 But thanks!😊
Dang, very old school with the DVD player, I love it 🤙🏾
🙌🏽💛✨
@@TravelingGamer_ Oh, yes… now I see! Prius traveling, right? Prius’ seem to be great for traveling! How do you like it?
I’m excessive weight as I lay…
Lol 😂 wow you got a lot of modular items into that small space..
Awesome. Lots of great ideas. Now I'm going to see the updated one. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks so much!✨ Happy & Safe Travels to you!
This van build is "Everything"!
Thanks so much, Jane!🙌🏽💛✨

Wow, great job for such a tiny van..
Thanks, Julie!🙏🏽💛
Fabulous Laki. Great use of a small space!😃😃😃
Thanks so much, Fiona!✨🙏🏽💛
String some small hammocks for extra storage. Can get them at marine supply stores. Place along walls.
Awesome suggestion!✨ Thanks so much!
This was GREAT ! I enjoyed this so much, Laki.
Thanks, Tasha!!💛
I use to spend summers in Asheville 😂 you are definitely ready to travel ❤ enjoy stay safe.
Thanks so much!💛
If you wanted to make your bed to where you don’t need the tote underneath. And make it sturdy with added weight; take two blocks of wood, and measure your leg depth. Then use a wood boring bit the size of your legs on your sofa and drill to that depth. Great job on your no build van build. I wish you the best.
That’s a wonderful idea! 💡 Thanks so much for your suggestion!🙏🏽💛✨
Great job on your simple, beautiful no-build van! Enjoy your adventures!!
Thanks, MM!✨
Pretty. It looks like a little home.
Thanks so much!💛✨
Very beautiful design Laki!😍 I love it! A small oasis to retreat to..😎👍

Thanks, Thommy!💛✨
😉💚 You're welcome! 😊 😁🍻
simple but perfect. well done.
Thanks so much!💛✨
This is beautiful!! You did a great job!
Thanks, Lisa!🙏🏽✨
Magnetic baskets is a fast easy way to add extra room, and is very mobile so you can play with the placement.
I absolutely looove those sheer curtains!
Thanks for watching the video!✨
the Loungers club approves ,great insight on van life living etc etc tatally enjoyed the representations
Thanks, Fernando!🙏🏽💛✨
Very nice, great choice of vehicle, and well presented.
Thanks, Allegro!🙏🏽✨
Whilst i appreciate its a no build but its of no use in cold or hot weather because of the lack of insulation. Im in the UK and if the weather is under 15°c during the day, it gets to 0-5 at night. With me and the dog the van would be freezing but also have lots of condensation, longer term mildew and mould.
Super pretty and love some of the storage ideas.
There are some regions of the U.S. with similar conditions to yours in the UK. I’d definitely recommend insulation in such climates. Where I reside, such extreme weather conditions are rare. Thanks for watching!✨
Awww what a cutie, easy no build van that looks good 👍
Thanks so much!💛✨
Love, love, love it!!!❤❤❤ Great job on your creation🫶👍
Thank you so much!!💛🙌🏽✨
Here from winterisblu 💙.
Your little tea / kitcheny spot is so cute 🥺. The collapsible sink 😮
The whole space is so cozy. I might invest in something like this in case i have to start physically working in the office again. I struggle with fatigue so i often need a cozy nap space. This would be perfect.
Thanks!💛 I love it! Even when I’m not traveling, I find myself curling up in it for power naps!🙌🏽
