I like MY flat-folding firebox stove! We can bake with my model, too. The Firebox Scout looks to be plenty sturdy and stable: just not as compact as the flat folder. Camp stoves are another topic that quickly becomes "Ruckdiculous!" I have given away more fine camp cooking stoves than I have kept. This video has me revisiting my Solo gasifier round stove and etc.: is it THAT much bigger? BUT the NEW FireBox model you show IS interesting... Now what???
Brother James, I used the Scout for the first time yesterday. Just as a twig stove. My first impression, is that I much prefer my folding model! I will have to use it when I'm not entertaining my grandsons to really be able to concentrate on it's use.
I have the solo stove lite and titan. The lite is comparable in size to the scout stove. The next time I hit the woods sans grandmonkeys, I'll try the twig burn again. This time with a wind screen. Then as time permits, I'll try the other fuel options. Then I'll have a much better understanding of the stove and will have a more valid opinion of it.
Great vid! This is the only FB we don't own. Trying real hard to justify needing this one too 😁
NEED? I don't need 98% of my outdoor gear..... It's that "Pesky" WANT rascal that's always whispering in my ear that's to blame... HAHAHAHahahahaaaaaaa!!!!
@@boonedockery7220 That is sooooooo true!!!!
Great review!
Thank You! After I use it for a while I'll post a proper review!
Going to have to check that out. And thanks for the smile buddy
Thank You! I'm trying!
Well that little thing is really really versatile. You say you can't wait till you get it out and try it out and I say I am with you I'm really looking forward to you doing that so let that be your next video please. I put this comment in before the end so I owe if you quoted the price so once I hear the end I may add another comment otherwise I hope you answer this and tell me the price. Y'all think about it now. Stay vigilant!
The base stove costs $24.99.
@@boonedockery7220 so the rest of the little add-ons or extra? And what are the add-ons?
Firebox makes really good products, I've got a Titanium G2 stove and its great!
The Titanium G2 Is On my Wish List!
Firebox is definitely on my radar. Good to see their brand branch out. 💯😄
There are several more of their products I want to order! I haven't been disappointed with any of their products yet!
I hope I get to see this one in action!
I used it yesterday with my two youngest grandson's. I filmed it..... dear Lord help with the editing! It will be UNIQUE in the Boonedockery Library To Say The Least! If I get more that 10 views I'll be surprised! HAHAHAhahahaaaaaa!!!!
Bloody Beautiful piece of kit. They really thought of everything possible. I found a 4" pair of tongs at a grocery store & bought 6 of them to go with each camping stove I have. I have 1 of the original stoves I bought in garage sale. I like the idea of storing stuff inside something.
Great Idea with having utensils with each cook kit! I will have to implement that practice myself! Thank You!
@@boonedockery7220 I was at a trade show & was given a box of plastic sporks as a present. I bought some 4" tongs at a discount shop & these go with the cook kits. I found so many travel goods well suited & pinch the salt, peppers, teas, coffees + sugars & even travel soaps on my trips to keep in these kits.
i have all the firebox models and some buschraft essentials stoves. I had not try the freestyle and the scout. last summer i had use the nano and the model 5. I like more the nano than to model 5 (exception for charcoal use) because the combustion chamber is to big for my need on the model 5. The scout (and freestyle) is little smaller than the 5 and can be maybe more for my needs. This summer i have planned to use my scout and also two buschbox stove with the coupling module allows you to connect two Bushbox stoves together in parallel . I use trangia alcool and gas burner, wood, charcool, solid fuel and wood pellet. The scout work with all and the freestyle not with wood pellets. also the scout look better for solid fuel tablet.
We live in a great time for bushcraft kit development, especially when it comes to stoves! It sounds like you have quite a few great ones and have put them through their paces. Thanks for sharing!
Great preview. Handy stove & not expensive. Only needs light oiling after use. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks, you are welcome
Thanks brother...I'll look forward to seeing this pup in action!
I have had the FB Nano for quite a few years and still use it from time to time...great company!
The Nano is on my list! I used it yesterday with my two youngest grandson's. I filmed it..... dear Lord help with the editing! It will be UNIQUE in the Boonedockery Library To Say The Least! If I get more that 10 views I'll be surprised! HAHAHAhahahaaaaaa!!!!
next stove on my list, his vidoes are great and the pack goats area great idea
I agree! I love his videos as much as his products! That's High Praise! HAHAhahahaaaaa!!!!
Yeah! Fire Box stuff has been on my personal wish list for several years. Great quality at reasonable prices. Great video Brother John. Is life calming down for you?
Thank You Brother David! Life Is Still Dishing Out The Crazy! I know that the Lord Never Puts Anything On You That You Can't Handle. Apparently, The Lord has a higher view of my capabilities than I do! HAHAHAHAhahaaaaaaaa!!!! I CAN do all things through Christ Who Strengthens Me! Blessings Brother!
@@boonedockery7220 Amen! 💯
@@boonedockery7220 It seems as though our Lord is refining you in the fire. This would make one wonder just what God has in store for you. At the end of the test will be a great blessing and likely a closer walk with our Lord. All craziness aside, hang in there for there is a great reward for those who persevere. Wow! Sound just like a preacher, don't I?
Very well thought out piece of kit for sure. Decisions would be for compactness of flat folding stove or this one. 👍🏻
I used the scout stove a little bit this weekend. My first impressions are leading me to prefer the folding G2 stove. Lots more testing to do before I can have an honest opinion about it.
@@boonedockery7220 I understand
That's awesome.
I used it for the first time yesterday as a twig stove. Lots more use and testing to go!
FIRST!!!! YESSIR
Thank You Shayne!
Any effect of it being made out of tin plated steel vs stainless steel of his other models?
Can you burn wood pellets in that stove
Yes!
do you offer a intern syle education for survival for fans?
Unfortunately no. I have a full time job and a very hectic home life. It is a major effort to produce the few videos that I do with all that that entails ( planning, filming, editing, posting, reading and replying to comments and emails). It's basically a second full time job. Should my fortunes turn to the better and I can retire, I would love to do training weekends. But for now, I just keep trying to produce and post videos. Have a great day!
@@boonedockery7220 heard lmk if that option ever changes thanks sir
No body wants to do all this guess work... The position pins are junk... This whole set up has major potential, but not worth the money... FIREBOX needs to go back to R&D... because this thing is just a cheap design... My opinion of course...
David, I deeply respect your opinion and I agree with your assessment after using it for a good period of time now. It's not a serious bushcrafter's or wild camper's stove.
