I was a professional brass player in a past life .I have had that dream and they say it's called "The Actors Dream" . It can be stopped by thinking about it and keep giving it a happy ending . It happens with people that do what they do in front of others and is based on a fear of not being prepared . Thank you so much Paul for your wonderful youtube channel !

I like what you said about cleaning the mouthpiece regularly. I agree that it prevents sickness and lip pimples

Great instructional video. The clothes pins, and the wash cloth are items that I will add to my case. Also, I like the cover to keep the brass off of the shirt collar. I clean my mouthpieces after every use.

My son is taking some advanced math classes in school, so he goes through a lot of pencils and even more erasers, but he doesn’t like using short stubby pencils, which fit perfectly in the trombone case and those little pockets in the mute bag, music stand bag, and the pencil holders that attach to the horn, so I always have lots of pencils for the other folks in the section, if they forget.
About that leather gooseneck cover-great when new, but as they age, they’ll start staining the shirt collars too, at least in my warm, humid climate. Now I use white Cinelli bicycle handlebar tape, which also will impress any cyclists in the band.

Thanks for the vid. I play on a King 3B with the trigger. I have it in one of the King coffin cases…virtually indestructible but heavy as all get out.

Hey Paul which brand of over the counter earplugs do you use? I’ve been using the EarGasm brand and like them. Is there much difference between over the counter versus form fitted? I love all your videos. Thank you for sharing.

I wish I had used ear plugs over the years in big bands. I now have tinnitus as a result of not wearing them. ☹️ Good advice!

Ultra-Pure makes tuning slide grease in three viscosities,, Light, Regular and Heavy. Hetman also makes a synthetic tuning slide lube in various thickness.
I used to use any old tuning slide grease or even clarinet cork grease. I found out most of it has Lanolin in it which under the right conditions can seize up the slide so I went with Lanolin free. What ever you do don't use Vasoline or vegeatble oil.

Which trombone can switch from single slide to double slide (to F attachment) trombone as per the below video?

The trombone in the video is a Yamaha. I have a Bach 36c. The c stands for convertible. You can change from a straight horn to an open wrap F attachment. I’m not sure if Bach still makes the c model.
