Congrats to Christine in christening that Garrett with gold on the first dig. That's amazing. That's very generous to be giving her her choice in detector. I don't think she could go wrong in either choice. Keep it up guys! Happy hunting.

Great video. When the hunt starts out with gold, it doesn’t get better than that! Tent stakes galore. Glad to see that cupcakes were available for fuel. I would think Minelab has already won over Christine! Stay safe.
Thanks.... Gold is a rare find at a park so when it shows up, it is a beautiful thing!!! But, those tent stakes...now that is real treasure.... I agree, she does love her Vanquish....
I've owned and used several Garrett Metal Detectors. Then I found the Minelab Vanquish 540. Love it! It would be interesting if you would place the gold you found a few inches in the ground and compare the readings using the Garrett Apex and the Minelab Vanquish 540. Hi from Sandpoint, Idaho USA
Check if that ring is made of meteorite. They make rings of meteorites and most of them have small portion of iron that makes magnite touch them. Good finds
The Apex and Vanquish are so different. I have the same problem the numbers are crazy for my brain but Ronnys brain does well with it. They are both fantastic machines. Fun hunt you two!!
I only had it down there for a short time but had no issues. I was told by Ronny "PNW Dirt Digger" channel that he uses it at the beach and loves it and it does not chatter. Hello, I'm considering swapping out my OEM Equinox shaft with the Steve's shaft like you have. What do you think about that counterweight? Is it worth it? I'm thinking it counters all the weight savings you get with the carbon fiber.
I bought the counter weight and when I went to the beach for the first time, I kept dropping the detector because I always balanced it off my bag/hip while scooping. The extra 6 inches really messed with me and I took it off. I haven't used it again and should really give it a try before offering an official opinion. That said, I do fine without it and yes the shaft is slightly lighter.
Great day, great finds. Why do people wear jewelry to the beach she asks? For them to lose and US TO FIND!!! The Apex looks really light! Amazing first find. Gotta love it when you unbox it, ping a target and BLAM do the gold dance, but yet, I saw no gold dance. Does no one gold dance anymore? LOL

Yes... I was on MS at the beach. I have not noticed any issues with the Apex so far while moving it around the sand. Haven't really hit any rocks yet. That is a tough decision. I need to use it more before I can say which I like better. It is lighter than the Vanquish.
