Wow! For years I've been on a mission to watch every Just Like Heaven cover on You Tube. I can't believe this one has been on here and eluded me for so long. I love this one! Great arrangement, great vocals, creative video. One of my favorites.
Only other one I prefer slightly to this one is th one AFI did at the MTV tribute show for the cure. Always thought the dinosaur jr cover was chill too.
So I was raised by my Grandparents---- salt if the Earth Hillbillys from St.Albans WV. I was a Punk Rock / Skater kid who was raised on Kitty Welles, Johnny Cash, Patsy, Hank 1 and always found a connection to the Cure, Depeche Mode-------- so I was having dinner and your version of Just Like Heaven came bbn on. I was GOBSMACKED !!!!What a great take on the song. Sending my twenty something daughters this link and cant wait to hear more of your stuff!!!!!
So, I have been longing for a country or bluegrass version of this song for over a decade. If I had any talent whatsoever I would have recorded it myself. I REALLY love the instrumentals, but the vocals need to be country, too. You gotta think how someone from the Deep South would pronounce these words. It would make this cover 10x better.
The music is fantastic but the VIDEO? As "The Mothers of Invention" composed by Frank Zappa sung "Brown Shoes Don't Make It" This is so fake and pandering to the lowest common denominator when your music is so very good.
Horrible is the holy grail of words to describe this shittiest of shit songs played by another band. Completely ruined it, beyond amazing. I'd rather listen to The Cure's 2019 version. At least they got the instruments right.
