@Digital DJ Tips If you go to your Engine mode on the MCX8000 choose your usb drive.Click the first selection which is "ALL". Then you can choose to sort by title bpm range key or artist album and genre.
I personally like to use the pitch sync, and when the one track drops, turn it off right as the vocals come in. It seems to make for an almost natural sounding key change.
I learned a lot a year ago with this beautiful and I’m here again because I’m having problems to make my music work from the serato, I just wanted to say thank you for this great video
Hello Phil, I am debating between the Pionner DDJ-SX2 and the Denon MCX8000. While the decision is ultimately mine, I really respect your knowledge and experience. If you were to choose, which controller as a mobile DJ would you select as your new controller. Perhaps this could be the basis for your next video (pro and con of both). Thanking you in advance for the excellent videos you produce. Respectfully, Marcos Miami, Fl
Hey Marcos, they're honestly both solid controllers. The 8000 is powerful, but pretty big.. Here's our full thoughts on the SX2: www.digitaldjtips.com/reviews/pioneer-ddj-sx2/
I'm curious did you get the denon or pioneer, I'm debating right now the same, guitar center had this out and it awesome but I'm worried about the reliability of it.
Hey Phil, in regards to the mcx8000, it is worth buying it in 2023? Do Engine 3.0.0 available / compatible to mcx8000? I'm asking because GC show that they have one (open box) available for $1,299.00 Or should I keep waiting for Denon DJ Prime 4?
We haven't fully reviewed the RZX yet so hard to say - but it really comes down to if you want to use Serato DJ/Engine (Denon) or Rekordbox DJ (RZX). Also the RZX would be better if you want to do any video :)
I'm having problems with my Reloop TM8, I'm going to try to get it fixed but have had my eye on this unit since it's release. When I upgrade it will definitely need to be a unit that is a standalone mixer. Would this Denon be a solid choice?
hi phi,i own a ddj sx2 but i want to upgrade to a sz or a numark ns73 do i have to download serato dj for either one these controllers or can i just use the existing serato dj on my laptop already?
I'm actually looking for a full set-up (2cdj+mixer) in an all-in-one console. I'm pondering over this one as I feel I can have a pro gear and be ready if I have to perform over 2 cdjs. Nevertheless, it is very hard to come by nowadays. Would you guys suggest anything like that? I am not a big fan of a 1-monitor-standalone console. What could actually be another great counterpart of the denon mcx8000? thx
Phil I can pick up a demo unit that's being sold for 497 US, is this a good buy or stay away from it? (recognizing it is now 4 years old and counting...)
That's a tough one, I always preferred the 7000 to the 8000 and demo units have often been bashed around but that's also a pretty cheap price. If it was my money I'd look at something else
@@digitaldjtips Something else your response made me realize. It's 4 years old and probably has been on display (prior to the pandemic) for at least 2 or 3 years. Thanks again Phil...
I'm a complete f'king noob when it comes to Serato, so I must ask: Once I buy the DVS expansion and set it up, do I still need to have Serato open (ie. computer while playing live) to use control vinyls to control the MCX8000?
Yes. DVS is a Serato feature not a standalone feature. You could play a real record through the MCX mixer section without the computer but control vinyl will not allow you to scratch an MP3 from your thumbdrive.
If you go to your Engine mode on the MCX8000 choose your usb drive.Click the first selection which is "ALL". Then you can choose to sort by title bpm range key or artist album and genre.
Ahhh cool thanks, Why I asked is because I know Denon is a decent brand as well, and it appears to be in similar class to the "SZ" which made me ask the question, and it is considerably cheaper.
You can't compare it IMO. MCX has standalone mode. That alone puts it above SZ. If the SZ was cheaper then the MCX, you could argue that it's better to buy the SZ and save some money if you don't really need the standalone mode (but when you laptop/serato craps out on a gig you'll remember MCX). On the other hand, SZ has dual soundcards - if you do B2B sets with your friends all the time that has advantages...
Both are great. Here's the full reviews of each to help you decide: DDJ-SX2: www.digitaldjtips.com/2016/04/review-video-pioneer-dj-ddj-sx2-serato-dj-controller/ MCX8000: www.digitaldjtips.com/2016/04/review-video-denon-dj-mcx8000-controller-mixer/

Another great video Phil. Thanks for all your contributions to the DJ community.
Thank you Todd!

Denon just put the bar to high, this controller is fantastic, it have it all.
mine is coming this Saturday! I can't wait!
Nice! Let us know what you think
Digital DJ Tips 3 more days! I can't even sleep. lol and of course my case came earlier, now I want it even more 😢
:D Soon!
I think the answer to this is the Pioneer DDJ-RZX that thing seems sick!!!
Great instructional video. Of course this also fully applies to the MC7000 as well.
Glad you liked it :)
you can also use the mp3 serato control code on a thumb drive played through the CDJ USB input .
Nice tip, thanks for sharing :-)
Always enjoy your videos very informational thanks
Thanks Tony!
I like that laptop stand what brand is it?

I can't figure out how to recall a saved loop on this unit
Despite the prices and brand what's better Denon MCX8000 or Pioneer DDJ RZX?

hi, I could know where to find those panels that you see in the video? thank you
Hey :) We got them at a local hardware store and put them in

Unless I'm forgetting one I don't believe there is a single standalone in the market that has dual screens
Check Ebay, I picked one up a cpl weeks ago for $650. There are others in that range
I just got it today, but whenever I load a deck with Serato, the audio doesn't go from the channel to the master. Please help with this issue!!!
Go to Preferences and check that you've got your Audio Output set to the MCX8000 :)
Is that on mac? I'm using PC.

Todd Barber
Thanks for the help, that clears a lot!
who can help me? which of Serato software should I download? for denon mcx8000
Hey Florenc, the MCX8000 should come enabled with the full Serato DJ version
Digital DJ Tips
there was no software in the box. I downloaded many times the software 1.9.0 1.9.5 but nothing
You'll want to talk to Serato or Denon DJ/inMusic support directly and see what's up
Can it be used with Serato DJ or only Serato DJ Pro?
The MCX8000 will unlock Serato DJ Pro when you plug it in so use that version
Has anyone figured out if you can sort by a key or BPM on standalone? Thanks!
If you go to your Engine mode on the MCX8000 choose your usb drive.Click the first selection which is "ALL". Then you can choose to sort by title bpm range key or artist album and genre.
How good is this compared to the Pioneer DDJ-SZ
Ahhh cool thanks, Why I asked is because I know Denon is a decent brand as well, and it appears to be in similar class to the "SZ" which made me ask the question, and it is considerably cheaper.
Pioneer make people buy controllers every year and a half, with this you have a controller for a very long time
I don't even know what to say about Gemini...

Wierd q. You can't easily compare stuff, everything has its own edge
If suppose one of problem may occurred it may be repaired or not.
Not sure what you're asking?
Hi. I want to know. How i use THE Sync? Tks 🎧😎🎚️❗🇦🇷
Make sure your beatgrids are correct then hit sync! You'll want to turn quantise on as well

Sorry for my english
Digital DJ Tips the denon have a lot of fonction and i love it, but i am scared it is bas qualities
