This song has become one of my favourites in country music I just cannot stop listening to, playing or even stop singing it. Now that I have the lyrics printed out to go with the song this is one song that I am going to have a crack at during band practice tonight and the open mic session at the tooth & Claw Bar tomorrow night. It’s 40 years 5 months since I first learned to play the guitar. Since then I have written and recorded many songs by many of my favourite music artists including Sharon Shannon, Mary Duff, and many others including myself. As I have already said I am going to have a crack at the song “Who left the door to heaven open “ and my brand new song entitled “Louisa you made me happy & you made me smile “ which I wrote for my friend Louisa yesterday. I have still to put the music together for my self written song which I do tonight at band practice or at the meeting place in Culloden tomorrow

I can't stop playing this song. 1981 as I lay in a hospital room with 3 other patients. Heavens door opened and in walked a 40 yr old little cowboy, never married/no children. There to visit his crippled mother. I was 40 divorced twice. He spotted me, fell in love, married 3 months later for 35 years of Heavenly bliss. Then Heaven opened doors and I didn't get to go with him. April 13, 2017. Its been 5 yrs and I am still broken and nothing will replace him. My life is all but over
