As with his viral hit “Halfway to Nowhere” earlier this year, however, there is a sliver of silver to counterpoint this grey cloud of introspective electronica. Chelou sampled the voice of his eight year old sister to lend a more innocent and optimistic foil to his cynicism, which is also contrasted with the song’s delicate guitar line and sparkly synths. In the accompanying music video, his animated protagonist undergoes several disorienting and traumatizing experiences, but arrives at a hard-won and well-earned solace at the very end."

It's like floating around a garden under the mystical light of the moon with fireflies.
he finds something floating and then it pops and he is intrigued and when someone takes it and seems happy. So he does it as well, what he sees floating are things that are similar to what human craves (money, love) he holds onto love and in the very beginning it holds him up but when he’s having hard times he realizes that love isn’t able to fully help him in times of need and he is also dependent on it hence why he is so sad/shocked when its gone. When he’s alone he is facing obstacles and so he’s dodging them by himself. @1:40 he ends up becoming his own source of happiness because he was with himself and becomes happy. He then becomes part of nature and @2:26 he takes this perception to the real word (the buildings) and he’s able to still attain his own happiness @3:15. At the end he doesn’t even need to grab happiness cause its inside him now:)

All these indie songs sound the same, which is part of why they never become more popular than they could be. The video looks cool, but this singer sounds bored, yawning, & completely unenthusiastic about being in the studio. I liked MGMT back when their album came out 10+ years ago but all these other "indie pop" and "indie rock" groups are generic derivatives of the same style.

When i saw this video and i listened this song by first time i was taking too much marihuana and i remember feelt this video like a version of myselft when i was in drugs. The truth Is that i was that side of people that don't feel the drugs well and, the most of the time i was triying to not lose my head. Even when i wasn't losing It ( you know). But i stopped to take drugs, even feeling the same things. The fact IS that after all, i took a fear to this video too. It was the metaphore of what a felt with drugs and without the happy ending that we see on the video, because in that journey i didn't learn to stop myselft and just fly trought the boxes or the shits that i was feeling in that moment. Today, two years later and before understand what happened to me with drugs i decide to write more about It and take a look to the video. Finally i feel better, i really enjoyed with the trippy travel of our shave-head friend. I learned that life is better when you think less. Don't take yourselft so serious and remember Who you are, because you know.
