I take it that you're not an Englishman. It's actually Odeon cinema. 'Theater' is the Americanised spelling of theatre. In England, and the rest of the UK, a theatre is a building in which drama is performed, whereas a cinema is a building in which motion pictures are shown.

It was certainly the Bond film which rekindled the box office success of the series after the low performing Golden Gun. Personally, I think For Your Eyes Only was Moore's best Bond; it returned Bond back to earth and back to the Fleming source material.
Muy buena página para escuchar las suites de JOHN BARRY y otros sin cortes publicitarios, verdaderamente tan molestos. Les he dado el LIKE de Suscrito, pues soy fan de los SCORES, y especialmente sinfónicos.
Spy certaiinly rekindled the box office success of the series after the low performing Golden Gun. However, in many ways, Spy was a remake of You Only Live Twice (instead of kidnapped space capsules, it was kidnapped submarines, the villain wants to ignite a war between 2 super powers, Bond is teamed with a female foreign agent, Q delivers a vehicle with a last name of Nellie, long battle sequence in the lair or lair proxy, Hans/Jaws, etc etc) Actually Tomorrow Never Dies also repeats many of these same Bond tropes, but I think it's far more clever that the villain wants to trigger WW3 for higher tv ratings; excellent 😊
The Carly Simon theme is definitely a top 5 Bond Theme. Marvin Hamlisch has composed excellent scores for The Way We Were, Sophie's Choice, adapted The Sting score, but, in my opinion, his Spy score was lacking. It's hard to match the high quality & distinctive themes of John Barry's 11 Bond scores, especially Barry's OHMSS score. George Martin & David Arnold have certainly come close. Still the Spy album (which is a re-recording and not the original film cues) is a good easy listening album. As a Bond & OST collector, I would definitely welcome a release of the complete original Hamlisch film cues.
This soundtrack is so weird. Half the time it barely even fits the film. It's very 70s, but not typically Bond. How did this manage to get award nominated?
I think because the theme song was nominated and ads were taken out for Academy members to also consider the score is why it (the score) was also nominated. The injustice for me was that none of John Barry's Bond scores were ever nominated, especially his OHMSS score.
You can't beat the opening scene, when he opens the parachute, iconic.
I saw this film at the Odeon Theater in London. That’s where all the James Bond films had their world premieres.

The music where they were escaping the tanker should have been on the soundtrack. Where else can you savour it ?
Perhaps one day they will finally release a full expansion including all of the unreleased music remastered.
Title picture smart.
