We have had five Tollers. All easy to train, but once they got it, don’t expect them to do anything they don’t want to unless there is a big reward (ie. treat) in it for them. They frequently acknowledge what you want them to do, then have a way to communicate that they are not going to do it.
Great mid sized dogs with a huge dose of attitude. That is why we have had five of them.

I’ve got two tollers and they are both different as one will stay by your side and always looks at you.. the other toller is more doing it’s own thing, until you call her in .. then she starts to listen to you.. but given them an inch they will both take a yard.. great dogs and very loving .. but they do like to work for you…

I thought that Tollers in generel were kind of reserved and didn't go too well with small kids? Also, that you aren't supposed to brush them but "pull" the fur off instead? No?

I have a great Toller… the video only scratches the facts and may be not so accurate…. Grooming? Once a year (max 2) not regularly as said… easy care, this furer keeps clean by itself, easy to brush if you do it once a week… this dog needs regular exercices and regular motivation… not daily… this kind of dog will take everything you will give him… not energy limitation.. so you have to manage it. Very very intelligent… do not underestimate It! Ps… if you have a wood stove…. The dog will sit in the basement where it is cooler!😂

How is it sad? It's an AI voice reading directly off the American kennel club website. This is extremely low effort, and over the year has over preformed the effort that went into it.

Would this breed be suitable with a one year old Chesapeake Bay Retriever that is walked (intensely, water obstacles, toys being thrown, unknown territories, etc.) Twice daily? This Chessie is a full-on jock! I just hope she won't be too much too soon. They will be living in different houses but will more than likely see each other almost every day and I would never put a living thing through something they don't or aren't ready to do, you know. I suppose I could introduce the Toller after puppyhood into the intensity of Nora the Aquadog.
Sorry for the novel but I am a very active person and the uncle of this Chessie that needs a HIGH energy dog to keep up with me. Please respond.

a blue heeler would be an excellent option as well if you need a dog with a high motor, just make sure you get a puppy if you have small kids because of they're not socialized properly their herding instincts can make them nip at a kids heels. Seems like you have the right environment for one to fit right in though. They're also incredibly intelligent (easiest dog i ever trained by a mile, it would be rare too spend more than ten minutes on a trick before she had it down.) The only thing is water, heelers tend to avoid it so you'd have to test it on the puppy before you got it.
As long as you can get one that's young and likes water you will have a dog that will keep up with you no matter what you do.

I hate people talking about animals discussing advantages and disadvanges. The human kind has ONLY disadvantages.

it just for the info not every dog suit everyone. some people live in aprtments so they prefer a dog who need less excercise

Information like this is necessary so that people can research which breed to get rather than choosing based on looks. You might not like it, but it prevents people from getting pets that they can't look after properly and will end up neglecting or giving up.
