  • Today we took home Rocky a male Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever - it was a very stressful and sad day for him as he has to deal with the separation anxiety of leaving his mom, dad, and siblings behind, but it is part of the process. Soon he will have another loving and amazing family. Here we detail the steps we took throughout his first day to try and make him feel as comfortable as possible. Breeders: Tollchester Tollers

Such a stressful experience! Leaving the only world you've ever known. I had a couple friends help me on the ride home to comfort my toller. I even camped out next to her pen so she wouldn't feel alone the first night. Ended up cuddled right next to where I was nibbling on my fingers all night. It was a perfect bonding experience. :)

Are puppies sad when they are separated from their breeders and their parents?
