This is awesome! I probably watched this as a game show junkie at 7 or 8 when this aired. I was on TPIR in 1997 and won some prizes, and I can remember the amount of makeup Barker had on his face was astonishing. He looked like Casper, the friendly ghost. I really hardly recognized him (of course, I kept that to myself). These were the days when Pat stuck around when a contestant won the bonus round instead of going out of camera range immediately after. Great video!
Well Jason. I gotta tell you. I really love that old classic "Wheel of Fortune" theme song! Merv Griffin the Creator of Wheel of Fortune did an amazing job composing it!
I think it’s wonderful for those teens to introduce themselves on the finals of Teen Week on WOF, and introduce Pat Sajak and Vanna White, the hosts. Jack Clark, your job isn’t safe. Kenneth A Huang 8/27/22
I remember this episode and was happy you won. Of course, I was a little biased because you share my name. LOL! I also remember that “Building a snowman” was the puzzle you solved in the speed-up round during the regular game play.
@@flava27 Thank you. I was surprised that I did. But I do remember him solving the “event” puzzle “Building a snowman” and Pat was so impressed that he told him “Nice puzzle solving” or something like that.
How's it going, Jason? If you dont mind me asking, did you get to keep the car you won, that is drive it to school? Also how old were you when you got your drivers license?
Looks like those vultures at Sony struck again by blocking "Wheel" content as your first "Teen Week" appearance from 12-30-1985 was taken down, I can't find it anywhere 😢
It was heavy, for sure, but I don't remember thinking anything of it and certainly have nothing to compare it with. The new little tubes the contestants use now are kinda weird, but less friction I guess and covid-friendly.
No wonder most kids hate homework when they're in school. These teenagers kept calling the wrong letters in the "thing" puzzle here. I know I always hated homework.
any idea if my original episode is up somewhere? It would've been one of the ones right before this one. I can't track down the transfer we did from VHS way back when.

Love the old theme and musical cues. Brings back memories.
Why did Pat have to spin the wheel back then before the players even started?
maybe just a ceremonial thing or was supposed to be some type of randomness gesture. Just guessing.

Very impressive Jason. I'm enjoying watching your run on Teen Week!
Thanks!
I like how smoothly the wheel spins here.
It wasn't heavily weighed down like it is today.
back then the wheel was runs freely and now days its more heavy too spin that wheel
The wheel is too predictable these days. It doesn't feel luck-based anymore.
@@wecantfightgravity What I don't like is when the contestants spin the wheel, they say "Big money!" That can be really annoying.

The Youngest Contestant EVER on Wheel of Fortune of the 1980's.
Still the youngest solo winner ever :)

Me too...the earliest WOF theme music is very vivid to me, as well as those other music cues back then! I watched this era as a young child 🙂
I remember Alan thickes theme called Big wheels and Chuck Woolery was the host
@@brettbousman5070 Yes, plus Pat became the host in December of 1981 and they still kept the Big Wheels Theme

Hi Jason, glad that you won the game. When you won the bonus round, was it your dad who blew you a kiss?
I don't know...will have to go back through and watch!
Original air date January 3rd 1986
Maybe I’m weird but I miss free spins
Wheel of fortune rarely has kids as young as you were Jason
Pretty sure I'm the youngest ever solo winner. Apparently there was a 12-year old that won with his teacher, as a duo, however.
*GREAT* job Jason. It might just be me , but I thin k the sound effects got better when the show moved to CBS in '89.
maybe so...I've never compared them.
CONGRATULATIONS!

I'm looking for someone who won teen week in 1986. How many teen weeks did they have that year?
no idea...can't imagine more than 2.
Wheel should bring back Teen Week and have a Kids Week as well
I agree.
Not a Kids Week, because they'd need assistance spinning the very heavy wheel.

Jason is smart at Wheel Of Fortune since he was at least 16 and ready to play for a brand new car and win it quickly so he had fun with it. I hope?
Lots of fun...and I was only 13!!
