You work with such a light hand. I think that's my problem. I understand the techniques, but I can't seem to apply a light hand.
Hi. The trick is to make sure each layer is totally dry. It makes applying the paint much easier. And each layer needs to be more watery than you think you need
Oh thank you! This is wonderful. I started, having never painted before, painting during the pandemic. Armed with some Amazon supplies and videos I dove right in. Ignorance is bliss
Your video showed me so many things. It affirmed some of the things I figured out. I didn't call it a blending brush (which is a logical name) but I referred to a similar brush as my 'lifting ooops' brush. I also figured out a similar blending technique, but didn't share because that isn't how others do it. I was in the right track.
I love blending colors. I never have any idea what it could be called, but I blend until I get something I like. So glad you encourage using the color you want.
You taught me so much in highlighting in this video. I now know where I went wrong. With Christmas tasks piling up, now all I want to do is paint!
And I never once thought of using a pipette to deliver those drops of water. Duh!
Thank you again. Merry painting Christmas to me for finding you.
Happy holidays.
Hi Diane. Thank you so much for your kind words and I’m really glad that you found the video useful. I particularly love your name for your blending brush, I think I’ll call my next one the lifting oops brush LOL. Once again, thank you for your kind words, X

Thank you very much John. Things seem very slow at the moment. I’m hoping a festive theme will get things rolling again x
It's such a busy time of year, maybe that's why it's been slow. I will not be able to try this until Thursday or Friday as I have to be away, but I'm really looking forward to trying this one.

Hello! I am a newer subscriber and I am enjoying your tutorials! I have a question: I notice you paint with your right hand, but you also wear your watch on your right wrist. Are you ambidextrous? The reason I ask, is because I have carpal tunnel syndrome which causes my right hand to go numb. I am 70, and for many reasons was unable to get the surgery to correct this through the years. Now, the damage has advanced to the point that surgery would not help. All this to ask if you have trained yourself to paint with your less dominant hand? Or, are you like my grandson, who is mostly left handed, but does some things right handed. So sorry for the long dissertation! I love your style!
Hello, and thank you for subscribing. I am not ambidextrous coming. In fact I am right-handed but I’ve always worn my watch there for some reason. I just seem to prefer it. I’m sorry to hear that you have carpal tunnel. I know it’s extremely painful and in fact I thought I had it myself at one point. Thank you for your kind kind comments x
@@helencampbell My goodness! Thank you for answering! I’m learning so much from you! My style is similar and the layering to prevent overworking is really helpful. I don’t “do” FB, so I appreciate your UA-cam content!
@ZeeCeeCreations thank you so much x
Hi, I notice you painted this wet on dry, including the base colour. Is this your preferred way of painting or was there a particular reason for painting this piece wet on dry?. For some reason I have been really struggling with wet in wet 😢
Hi Shirley. I think it Depends on what I’m painting really. If the areas are smaller than I tend to just paint wet and dry. If you struggle with wet and wet then my suggestion is just work wet and dry there are no hard and fast rules. It’s whatever works for you. X
I can't seem to find the base of the paints you are using on their website. I buy a handmade brand in Canada that uses a honey base. Is that what Deep Deep Light uses as well?
Hi. I’m not sure. I can check with them. Having used them they smell natural and very nice unlike other pans I’ve used
👋🏼. Phew! I thought I wasn’t going to be first 😄.
lol. Things are slow
