ClearNav has always been a keep it simple company to provide the necessary information in panel and make it as easily readable and functional as possible. but I do agree it is in need of a bit of a face lift. My observation even watching someone who is apparently intimately familiar with this display is that which knob does what is not intuitive enough - as he makes numerous mistakes. He should have explained the concept on what each knob's twist and push does from a design philosophy level. On the thermal display, he was initially confused on what the top and bottom numbers were - indeed there are no labels at all.
Beats having folded maps on your knee with the destination drawn on and navigating by features like we used to. It’s all very clinical nowadays isn’t it.
Interesting, but my advice for ClearNav is to hire a graphic and industrial designer or two.
