    Why does exiftool not work for videos? Is there any way to change the capture date of videos?

    Hi, I'm bit confused about copying metadata, I have 2 folder: D:/ORI (folder for the original images) dan D:/Output (folder for sharpened images of ORI with the same name of images in ORI folder), I want to copy all metadata of images in ORI folder to the images in Output folder?How to do that?thank you in advance..

    Does this tool allow exporting all tags from a directory of files to a csv or other file type?

      Exiftool command line can export to a CSV, take a look at my video on viewing metadata with exiftool.

    Helpful vid. Thank you. Just my two cents though: From the general trend on YT, the picture-in-picture seems to be extra work and doesn't seem to fit quite well into or add value to YT videos , IMO.

      Hi Scott thank you for feedback, we will be making a few changes over this coming year to the studio. I expect to try some different formats then.

    Thank you for the help! Quick question, after going through the process I see that the file directory is still showing my name in it...For example ( C:/Users/Val/Pictures) is this something that will be shown when I upload my image online? Your time is greatly appreciated.

      Hi I have another video that shows how to remove all metadata using the command line and exiftool. The path would not normally be stored in the metadata as this is just the software showing which file it’s working on.

      @MerciaSolutions  2 роки тому

      Hi Mike, you need to download the jExifToolGUI and the exiftool I have separate video on installing exiftool which if you do this first will make setting up the GUI straightforward. Hope this helps.

      Hi Joshua, maybe try a different web browser and double check the site from where you are downloading.

    Thank you for the video, I have been looking for an EXIF tool, and this seems to be the one. Can I ask please, how do I get ISO information and shutter and aperture details to show? I am using it for film photography, so I don't have this information in my scanned files. Maybe there is some code I need to add to GUI for ExifTool? Excuse my ignorance but I am new to this.

    • @MerciaSolutions
      @MerciaSolutions  2 роки тому +1

      Hi Paul take a look at the command line exiftool tool you will certainly be able to add iso and shutter details to a scanned image. You can also view all metadata contained in the file.

    help. i have 1000s of pics on my pc in photo folders. how do i AUTOmatically add those unique folder names to the photo EXIF after the fact (because i'm upload to google photos and want to create albums based on those folder names)...thank you.

    • @MerciaSolutions

      I would look at writing a PowerShell or batch command to list the directories and then append this to the "description" field. Google photos uses the description field as the image title. The words in the description field will therefore become searchable. You could also add additional words image into the description. When you first upload the image with the metadata in the description it appears takes google a few minutes to update the search with the new image. Make sure you have a backup of the original images before you run any scripts. I have not found anyway to prefill a album name. Google Picasa would have been a good solution though google appears to have removed the download option and I would not recommend a third party site to obtain a copy of it. Do let us know how you get on.
