@Boden Arjun i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site thru google and Im trying it out atm. Seems to take a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
I am tearful. Im happy for them finding each other and that Lou and Bowie both found love in the last 20 or so years of their lives. I think of Transformer and how they are all gone including Mick Ronson. Surreal. Laurie and her O Superman Lou Reed.
Laurie Anderson is absolutely the best decision Lou Reed ever made. Classy, passionate and real. Would that we all could find such worthy mates. She is a wonder, and a wonderful woman.

It's not that David liked Lulu per se, it's that he "got it" which pretty much everyone didn't at the time, like the jackass saying that it's one of the biggest rock and roll fuck you's of all time (that was Metal Machine Music by the way). David understood the artistic integrity behind it and the commercial risk that Metallica took with releasing an album with Lou Reed that wasn't a classic hits repackaged album (as was the original plan). Lulu was and is his biggest album since Berlin (artistically and conceptually), and the fact that he got Metallica as his backing band was pretty outrageous as he was at the time unsigned to any fucking label and it turned out to be his swansong.
Oh, but not in the attraction sense. If they met young and crazy, they had many ups and downs. But in the end they were great friends and knew each other well of course. They went out together with their partners (said by David), because there was authentic friendship and they respected each other as good friends do. It's about that!
First heard "Sweet Jane" on the John Peel show, 1971.....I loved Lou and still do. He changed how I looked at life. My school friends used to have a go at me about him, they loved Clapton and those kind of God's. They are all Lou fans now 50 years later. He was, and still is, an inspiration. Miss you, man xxx
Laurie Anderson is simply the greatest of all living artists. She is Zeus on Olympus in the order. Unless that's a bad metaphor, in which case she simply remains the greatest of all living artists.
God I love Lou , we only met each other a few times , but each time we laugh we were honest and helpful. To many people he could seem rude and hard but that was only a cover to protect himself and his work. He was more than a great song writer he changed the way we through about songs and sounds. Y'know, in a weirdly fitting way, Lou dying a year or so prior to being inducted might've been his last, and most brilliant and clever, act of performance art -- as much as I and so many other Lou fans would've rather he'd have gotten this honor while he was still alive, this gave us the opportunity to see the love of his life accept the honor in his place! For many, this was very likely the first time that they were exposed to Laurie Anderson; so, to have her delivery the acceptance speech for him was a gift all its own! Lou, may your third death be something very long in coming -- and hopefully that day never comes, 'cuz I know that I'll never forget you and especially for your contribution to what music is, and more-importantly, what it can be that it wasn't imagined to be before until you came along!! Loooooooooouuuuuuuuuu!!!
That gave me goosebumps. As a psychic once said " affirmation/confirmation " Maybe Laurie rediscovered " that voice ", herself, him, uniting us, all in her tribute 🕊️ stay Well All ✌️
@@jacobsklar4560 Laurie is an avant-garde performer, artist and an original. “O Superman”, “Let X=0 “are two of her better known tunes from the eighties. And the wife of Lou Reed.
So if he was such a great guy why was he such an 'out of his face arse piece' at his gig in Manchester Palace Theatre 1973? I used my uni grant money to buy tickets for the concert. He was awful
"He was never, ever cynical," excuse you? What a farce. She's nearly the equivalent of Yoko. She also had him cremated like the Nazis did. "I love women.... I love women.... I love women...."
She was talking lovingly about the man she made a life with for 21 years. Isn't it possible that she knew him in ways that no one else did? Perhaps loving her changed him. Otherwise, what's it to you? Are you just pissed off that her view of Lou Reed doesn't jibe with yours? Or are you being contrarian to counter all the praise? Guess Lou Reed loved women more than you ever will. Women seem to disturb you.
How Laurie Anderson remained composed during that loving tribute is beyond me. What an incredible human being.
An incredible artist she is!!!!
cause she really loved him
The very best Rock & Roll Hall of Fame acceptance speech in history, hands down.

Laurie is one of the greatest artistic treasures we have....her acceptance speech is a beautiful novella..
She is classy, smart, insightful and loving. Just a beautiful tribute.

What a brave lady. So inspirational. I admire her and wish her continued happiness.
Ok, I cried. Lou was awesome, it will be forever reminded and admired. Love his work and artistry, always.

Laurie deserves her own induction of sorts, even if she was never considered rock n' roll. Big Science says it all.
This woman is an absolute legend, who happened to be married to an absolute legend.
A fine writer like her late husband. Both: the real deal.
What an incredible speech...brave lady Laurie...you have been loved by an incredible human being Lou Reed xx
Easy because she also is an incredible being like attracts like ❤️☮️💜
Laurie was so lovely & detailed about Lou Reed...may he rest in peace
