This one was very tough. I needed many, many takes in order to record a decent performance (and I'm not satisfied with those staccatos *sigh*).
Piano: Yamaha P-105.
Sound: Grand Piano 1.
Audio recorded with Behringer U-CONTROL UCA222.
Video: Panasonic HC-V100.
Software: Adobe Audition + Adobe Premiere Pro.
For those of you who are up to this piece and have been finding it difficult, don't get discouraged. Instead, practice VERY VERY SLOWLY and please count-this is imperative. Before I got to this piece I thought it was impossible for me to play it. And when I did get to it, I kept practicing and counting slowly and making A BUNCH OF MISTAKES. Eventually, after two days I could play it quickly with confidence. It's kinda like magic. One day you're struggling then the next day BOOM you're able to play it all of a sudden. It's the greatest feeling. Couldn't stop smiling.
Any tips or recommendations to help with counting?
Yes.. still trying to get this one perfect! Its a difficult one but won’t give up :)
@@tandyegg hmm I don't really have a special tip on counting other than keep doing what you've been doing i.e. counting 1+2+3+, etc. Label the values of each notes so you get a visual cue and count them out loud. Then you can try using a metronome. It will take some time to get used to it, but trust me, it's so worth it. The metronome is your best friend.
@@ijnmpi Yeah, it's an awesome piece. Very very catchy. Even with its simple arrangement, I received compliments from people when I played it in public (music stores, and such).
@@patrickallenpimentel3062 thanks great Patrick !
This is my next song. I've been playing for a year and a half, and I'm older. I have been LOVING it. Can't wait to get this one down. I love that there are videos.
Thank you so much for sharing these videos. As a self learner it is helpful to not only hear these pieces but see them in action.
Thank you so much for all of your videos, I am at page 85 now, watch you you play this song and Canon D gave me huge spirit! I see the light, I can do it.
This is the book that I learned piano from! The whole book has a good learning curve, and will prepare you for early RCM levels.
just finished he's got the whole world in his hands now this one next 🙌
I am now at Alfred 3 and I can play this!! Thank you so much you really inspired me.
Hello Elena! I am learning this song now, started self teaching a year ago with Alfred's 1 book. This song is by far the hardest yet for me, but I really need to give more time to practicing in order to get better, especially as the songs are challenging me to really know the location of the keys without looking. I really appreciate that you uploaded all of these songs; they have really helped me a lot. I think you play beautifully.
Ok! It's been 3 years now. You got it down?? Personally I'm not at this level yet.

Awesome work! I keep watching your videos because they are a huge help to me when I am trying to learn a new song. I really like how great the overall quality of the videos is as well as your growing ability to play. Thank you for your hard work and, of course, keep on playing. :)
This is my next song. Thanks for showing such a good version.
I keep coming back to your recordings! Thanks a lot for your work 😀
well done. it's where I am currently in the book :)
tdg911 Me too!
Me too

Same but I'm stuck in the end part. I know the notes but I mix them up. I try to slow down but it's in my nature to speed it up.

Thank you I am learning this piece ,now seem take forever ...
Thank you for this, very helpful!
I learned piano quite late and your videos helped me a lot. :D Keep up the good work.
I have now played this together with you. Thank you!
At this point, it's looking like I'll NEVER be able to conquer this one!!
And how is it going my friend?
@@Demolishorx Thank you for asking!!
I'm now playing it at 70 BPM for quarter notes. Plan to stop at 75 and move on.
You play so beautifully.
Thanks for this, this is the toughest i found so far.
Thanks for doing all these they are super helpful!
Thank you so much for this super helpfull videos❤️
Ah yes, the iconic ice cream truck song
Gracias, me ayuda mucho con mis clasea de piano...
It's a pretty hard song, but after a few hours of training I managed to do it
It usually take me month to learn a new son...
@@beinanye hows it going after a week?
@@beinanye for me 2 weeks honestly sometimes I feel bad for the teacher
This one took me maybe two days because it's one of my favorite songs, and so I've heard many times. Most other songs would take a few days to several weeks. A song already familiar means you already know the rhythm and melody.
It took me a week of constant practice to get this.
Thank you
Very helpful thank you!
Fantastic work!
Great perfomance! Love it! Can you pls do A video/playlist of Alfred's Basic Piano Course Greatest Hits Level 1. Thank you very much!

1 month later and I'm finally here! Woo
Nicee!
Very fluid, well done.
🎉❤
Just started this and is there is NO WAY I will ever be able to do the left and right hand together at a pace that is faster than, well, one note per 10 seconds.
Ok ok after a few days I got it.
Awesome playing. I wish I could play it half as good as you.
Rick in Texas How do you know in the beginning that you have to go a octave lower? I don’t see any indication? Or do you just have to assume it’s like that?
Same here
but still im not one to judge and i think you still played this gracefully.
This one was pretty difficult next to the others, but after about 20 mins a had it down perfectly. it's all just practice
I have learned this and would like to learn the rest of it at the same level and in the same key. Does anyone know where I can find the sheet music for that?

Thanks!

Badoodle1744 lmao I just skipped to it
I'm going to play this to my piano teacher in 20 minutes 😬
Why are you holding down the G at 0:06? Isn’t it staccato?
Nice!! Can you share me the music sheet please or let me see the book cover so I can find it in the store? Thank you
It’s Alfreds Basic Adult Piano Course- Level 1.
Good!!!
I noticed you don't play the staccato notes and rests at the end. Sounds better.
You have the same yamaha P105 and the same Alfred's piano course as me but you are 3 quarters of it
me only 1 quarter
Genial !!!!
Wow it is definitely not sounding like this for me. I will keep working on it though. Thanks!
How is it coming along?
@@alexiatherealtor It got much better! As always the more you practice it just clicks at some point. Fun song to play too. Thanks again!

In the book there is an indication saying '8va' above the first measure.
Arthur Renard oh I see it, totally missed it, thanks a lot!
It good!!!
Second line, last measure first G is a staccato. You played a normal quarter note I guess?
im 10 and i just got of my piano lesson we were learning this song XD! GOOD JOB i can play it hard XD!!
Gaming with Lukas when you grow up and mature a bit, you might learn that age does not equal skill.
I'm 69 and just started with the piano 4 mths ago and this is my target tune. I love the Alfred course and will be attempting this soon (I hope). Watch out Elton John -Im getting ready to replace you. Just hope I can sound as good as this lad/lass.
This is so random but damn ur 17 now that’s crazy
This is really *entertaining*
Compared to 'Laura' this one was pretty easy...........Over The Rainbow was harder than this too......

Thanks, I hate sheet music and I have a piano test tomarrow lol
I am finally at this piece now, it seems not as difficult as I previously thought, of course still needs lots of practice
Great job. I am self taught as well and I having problems with the putting the left hand and right hand together. I can do them separately but when I put them together it just doesn't sound correctly. Help!!!
just start off slow and keep going, it'll make sense eventually!
Vandálica y Minúscula my trick is know the order the notes are played and which hand plays the note before the other. So say the bass has a quarter note and the treble has an 8th rest followed by an 8th note, the way I see it, play the quarter note then play the 8th a little into the quarter. I don’t know how to really explain it. Just look at the order of the notes on the staff and think of the treble and bass as one whole melody rather than different melodies in both hands. Think of it as your hands working together to play this one linear melody. Or picture the staffs together without the blank gap and look at the order of the notes relative to eachother.
How do I set up metronome to this ?
Hy! How recorded the sound Yamaha?
Hi!
I connect the Yamaha P-105 to the Behringer UCA222 USB audio interface with an RCA cable.
Senks :-)
+Elena Nito so good
Its so hard, im only until lavender blue
What is the metronome?
Good work! I will play this song at my first concert, but i don't have too much time left. So should i practice it with my both hands or should i learn it with my right hand then left hand? Which one is the better option?
How did it go?
Darrien Glasser my teacher recommended me to first roughly play left hand, then right hand, and not after too much time together. The problem is that when you can play one hand perfectly, you want to play at the same speed with the two combined. This is however not possible because you need to learn how to play both hands simultaneously.
SeriousFun Nooo I don't care about how to learn it, I can already play it. I want to hear how the concert went.
Same
Idk why but this is way harder to make work on a grand than on a digital lol
Great performance. Does this lesson also show you how to play the rest of the piece?

@@tommaso.fw.music1 that’s ok. I gave up on that method. Playing by ear instead.

Me no idea where it is
same i cant find the page which its on

I was hoping to see the real version of this song in the book.
why this version is so easy
It's from a method book for teaching and learning the piano, beginners often have fragments and simplified arrangements to help progress and teach concepts.
if anyone else stumbles on this comment, i need help with my timing. i’ve tried playing with a metronome but it seems to just distract me more than anything. if anyone has tips I’m all ears!
Slow it down. Nothing for it but to build a foundation and work up. Be sure there's no distractions like radio, television, friends, family, &c. Then just do 60bpm quarter notes and work up from there. Slow scales might be a good way to get yourself in the right frame of mind for it.
What also helps is counting out loud while playing the notes, that way if you start playing off beat you Can self correct over and over again until your timing is more accurate, then you can speed it up gradually.
I can play that
I don’t care
Try to play a bit more lively :)
Hugo de Heer shes an apprentice
this is an adult corse? im 15 and i can play the whole piece perfectly.
Alex Colderley it's for adults that want to learn rather than having lots of children's pieces
Alex Colderley ^^^ late learners
Alex Colderley Be that as it may. What difference does it make when you start learning? She is learning. I am sure there are dozens of skills she has that you know nothing of. The difference being if you were to go public about a new skill you were learning most MATURE people wouldn't mock you for it. I understand though you said you were 15, so common sense and possibly puberty, have yet to kick in for you.
yeah i dont know why i posted that comment and you are right about what your saying.
Alex Colderley good on ya m8. I apologize for insulting you're maturity. Cheers!
beautifal, can i know your facebook or other ? :)
Awesome legs.
Wasn't sure if it was a man or a woman at the keys....but the fingernail length kinda gives (her) it away.........
I guess the keyword is "basic" when it comes to Alfred's books because this is missing a lot of notes.
To be fair, this is pretty much the first song where your left and right hand are independent, e.g. one isn't playing only arpeggios or chords. It is book one for a reason!
I guess you could also say You've Got the Whole World in Your Hands is a little independent, but it's just 3 keys that you have to switch up a little a couple of times. Like you said, it's book 1 for a reason haha
