there are claims that it will get loose.. is it present on your unit?

Unlikely the connectors are very snug fit, only one that feels a little loose is when you plug into usb-micro but that's no longer a widely used port in newer devices. But that is probably because they made it fit inside the lightning connector.
Rest is pretty rock solid
