I think the wear on it looks cool. Like you said, it’s a tool, not a jewel. I’ve bought the new version with the handle scales. It’ll arrive this week hopefully.
The new model has a much better handle. The SRK and SR1 are excellent knifes but sometimes have too thick of a blade for certain tasks. Spyderco knives are overpriced and overrated. Don't own one and never will.
It’s great for the price but idk about the best knife ever. Lots of better survival knives and some at a close price range like the esse 6 with custom 3D Handels
@@escapetherace1943 think you might be on Your own there XD. Only thing I don’t like is the powder coat and their old flat handles. Both of thos can be easily fixed.
@@kakashi1234777 I don't like scandi grinds because they are only good at shaving off chunks of wood and batoning, and you shouldn't baton with a knife to begin with. Anything around 4 inches with a flat grind is what I prefer, usually carbon steel. though there is an appeal to this knife for me, if I had to have 1 tool it would be an 8-9 inch bowie. I would prefer a hatchet and a 4 inch knife though If I got two. If I was surviving I would choose an axe/hatchet over a knife, takes less energy to cut firewood than hacking with a blade
@@escapetherace1943 I mean if you know your going to be cutting a lot of wood your right can’t beat a good hatchet or axe. I would probably go with a good hatchet and 4 inch knife too if I knew I needed firewood or build shelter. Mabey a small folding hand saw too. Tho if your walking a lot or if your not planning on cutting a lot of wood a solid knife works fine in my opinion. I’m not saying it more effective or efficient but I have Batoned plenty of wood with my esse 6 and SRK no problem. It’s a tank not going to break and if it does they fix it so I don’t worry. Have you checked out the esse 4 hm ? It’s a good 4 inch bushcraft knife and they fixed the Handels so you don’t need 3rd party ones. What brand of Bowie knife do you like ? I collect a-bunch of knives and am always looking at new ones. I don have a problem lol
