The problem was the type of wax you used. Your candle wax is more slick than powdery because it’s too hard. You need soft powdery wax that will break up when you slide. Hence why not all wax is good to skate on with full size boards too.

Why tf you got a silicon mold of a fingerboard?
Your board is less flammable. in order for something to make your fingerboard more prone to combustion, the substance would have to be flammable in the first place. Candle wax is not flammable, which is exactly why it’s safe to use as a candle. If wax was flammable, candles would be be little fire pits instead.
The wax will have to melt off your deck before it can burn now, as it provides an extra layer of protection.
