If this is 8-Bit, it's gotta be that Konami VRC6 chip that never came over from Japan, but was used in Akumajou Densetsu (Castlevania 3: Dracula's Curse) and other Famicom titles. Sounds VERY amazing! Otherwise, gotta be that SID chip from Commodore 64. :)
