@lachlanchester8142 thats the whole story. He is a whopper and was when he was in. Does anything to stay in the limelight like wanting to ban milling. He was a differant regt before paras he transferred
Yeah, not to mention a champion for housing Afghans in SFA accommodation...backdoors it into the Reg from PWRR (who were glad to see the back of him also) then immediately tries to make P Coy easier by advocating for the abolition of the Milling Phase in P Coy.
He was well after my time but he does seem a "smooth talker"??? When I was with 16 Ind Coy while at uni I was lucky enough to have Hugh Pike as OC, one of the very best and later General Sir Hugh Pike.
Officers aren't really Paras, especially when, like this fella, they transfer in after a few years in the Army. If you can only get in via the Backdoor you'll never really be in.
Good interview, always enjoy Andrew’s input on Talk Radio/ TV when they have him on to discuss defence and Middle East matters. Didn’t know he started off as a hat tho!
Not you Foxy (every time I see him I just hear the Austrian commander of the Bosnian opfor voice lol ) That was a good trip Sgt major and cq made it for me.
How much do you think a soldier gets paid 😂😂 if we take £12 an hour for a Sainsbury’s staff a soldier STARTS on 25k. Then paras get extra pay once they have done this jumps… so basically you are wrong.
ah the man who banned everyone from drinking in bosnia then went out and missed his own parade for being hungover
Oooo tell me more

I don’t know one soldier who served under him who liked or respected him. The Reg was poorer place for taking him on.

I do understand your comment here. I much prefer the Royal Marines Commando officer selection. Commando first then onto officer making.
Great story Andrew. Thank you.

Utrinque Paratus (Ready For Anything)
If this is such a highly regarded regiment why are they paid less than a Sainsbury’s cashier?
Because nothing in the world is fair
Because at the moment working in Sainsbury's is more challenging and more dangerous!
Simple, Maggie Thatcher was our last leader who valued the forces and even then they were not well paid.
