I love your videos. Do you have a tutorial on the process of scanning the illustrations and adding text. I haven't started the process in Amazon yet, so I'm not sure if it will come as a natural flow, but I'd like to see the actual physical step by step of turning my work into pages.
Hi Jules, Your videos are great. I have written a couple of children's books but not published yet, working on the illustrations. Could you please tell me Why some mention 24 pages and other 32 pages for picture books? Why is this as my age group is 3-6 and 6-9. Thank you.
Picture books are normally 32 pages, but this includes the endpages, inside title page, dedication page and the page with copyright info on. You would normally spread your story over 24 pages, with the other eight as 'endpages, inside title page, dedication page and the page with copyright info' and anything else you want to add, like a bio or info about your website etc. Or you could include a quiz or spotter or similar. :)

She had the theme and tittle already and I am basically typing her ideas and story as she creates it. What do you think I should do to guide her? I don't want to limit her imagination, how to decide if its a small book or a chapter book? She is planning to write a series of 13 books : )
Hi Sofia, I think it's really important to encourage her creativity without too many restraints. But, also to talk about how things end in the story, so she has a goal. Sometimes we can get carried away with the beginning and then not really know how to resolve the narrative. Maybe she already has an end in mind? Otherwise, just let her go with the flow, and also see if she has any pictures that she can add. Best of luck x
Hi, I don’t know where to start my book with text and pictures. I read you always start your story on the right side. If so, this creates a problem for my readers. My text and pictures have their own separate pages- if I start my book on the right side that means you have to turn the page to see the picture. Therefore, my pictures and text are not syncing and looks confusing. The two page view have text and pictures that don’t match all because I started the story on the right side. Should I start the story on the left side so the pictures and text match? Thank you so much for your help. P

Hi there John, it's a good idea to decide where the words are going before you start the illustrations, but like you say, you can have them below the images. Hi ManiKenpachi - if you publish through Amazon, you don't need lots of money, just time. You can upload your book to KDP (Kindle Direct Publishing) and if you use one of their ISBN's, all you need to pay for is your own copy/s. Hope that helps :)
When I tried to put the manuscript in KDP for amazon the background color glitches out. I only had like a color tint to the background and not an actual picture change. How it would glitch is that the color tint would show up only around the text, but then everything else would look blank and white. Is there a fix for this? Thanks.
Hi Noah - I have absolutely no idea. That sounds very odd. Perhaps try saving your project again under another name (i.e. version 2) then re-upload and see if that helps. Otherwise, go on the KDP forums. I've never come across this before :-/
