Won't it be absolutely amazing for every single villain to be able to sit back and 100% thoroughly enjoy this last match against palace😁 knowing 4th place belongs to the MIGHTY ASTON VILLA!! 💜💙🦁 What a season we've witnessed, onwards and upwards!! WE ARE WELL AND TRULY BACK. 🦁UTV. Just wanted to add 1 last comment about the content I've had the privilege to have watched all season. You've honestly done a remarkable job mate!! You've truly added the cherry to the top of one exceptionally good cake😉 in my honest opinion you and your team have elevated and delivered top notch content, analysis, views and information about our club to multiple people worldwide!! I'm looking forward to seeing your videos next season👏👍.
Luke's attitude towards football, Thier price tags is so spot on, with voices like this in our fan base, it's so positive. We are so different to toxic fan babses like united and Arsenal, spurs, they almost hold Thier clubs back.lets never change and enjoy the ride
Luke you’ve been brilliant this season, full of energy, optimism, insight and creativity with the after-match fancams. The only other Villa podcast I bother with is Claret and Blue because as local journalists they often have some inside info. But you are far more dynamic and adventurous than them! Very well done.
With regards to forgotten players - i was so so impressed by Mings at the club dinner where he made a point to McGinn of including Kourtney Hause. How many Villa players have scored a winner at Old Trafford? As for VAR - the linesmans flag and the VAR lines have been our best defenders all season. Still buzzin. UTV!!!!
First time since the relegation season that I haven't been invested in the final game of the season. It's a nice change. You have done an awesome job this season. Thanks. UTV❤
i agree completely with the VAR talk. our offside trap is crucial to our system. I'm going with CRY 2-4 AVL. Watkins needs his 20th, Duran likes to score worldies against them, Diaby to carry on from last week, and why not, Bailey gets one too. and hopefully they've left an open seat and luggage space for Olise for the coach ride back to Brum. UTV!
Just wanted to say thanks to you and Justin for all your efforts in bringing the Villa talk to us all that watch UTV podcast. It’s a constant Villa fix we all appreciate and long May it reign as top content for us fans…🙌🏻 Exciting times chaps, what a season and dreamland is actually a reality, like wow wow wow can’t get over what a buzz me and my Villa mates are on having our club back in the big time…GET IN!!!! UTV always In Unai we trust 👊
Regarding VAR. The decision of whether to look at an incident or not needs to be given to the ref, like TMO in rugby. As it is, the VAR crew often seem to be looking for something, anything thats wrong instead of taking a lead from the ref, it dumbs them down and erodes their self confidence in making decisions
I never liked VAR, never wanted it. Aside from our play, I would disagree with it going now. Not because I like it but because the standard of reffing has gotten worse over the last 5 years. Also, I assume it would be kept just for offsides, since automated offsides were going to come in, in the next few years.
Like Eddie Howe said after their United game, all for the VAR offside staying and being semi automated ,get rid of the rest of Var...end of 👏👍🍻 Thanks for all the gang and your hard work done through all this season 💪 👏👏💥💯👊
its not merely contact which is necessary to give a penalty, the player must be impeded either by accidental movement of by deliberately obstructing a player, bearing in mind that no player is obliged to move for another. if there's not enough contact to cause the reaction from the player, that is by definition, simulation. the players throwing themselves to the ground or dragging their foot to cause contact should be getting booked for simulation. also simply running into a defender is a foul on the defender. an attacking player that contacts the defender when the defender is stationary is also not a foul, if a defenders foot is planted and a player goes over it, then its a fallacy to assume that he attacker has the right to be there anymore than the defender. the rules surrounded penalties are polluted by players shouting the loudest to gain an advantage and media encouraging penalty kicks purely for entertainment value, attackers appeal for penalty kicks, defenders mentality in their own box is not to win a foul, rather prevent the ball going in. if you want to criticise VAR its very easy, watch any goal from a corner, and simply imagine the level on contact happening in the centre circle. if the rules were actually followed, virtually every goal from a corner kick would be disallowed by VAR. all that being said, you are spot on regarding VARs biggest issue, it takes too long and there's no communication of the process in the stadium, or on tv. the process should be open and transparent.
Thanks for it all Luke. It's great to experience the relief of CL being locked in before this final game. My one concern comes from the award celebrations this week when Tyrone Mings was interviewed and seemed very reticent to talk about his fitness. Is there still a problem there which is unresolved? I had hoped that he and Buendia would be shoo-ins for next season. Here's hoping.
For your next podcast can we look at the squad and decide who will go, where we need to strengthen and what you think we need to be competitive in Champs league. So what do you think the squad will look like with everyone fit Buendia Mings Ramsey Kamara. Will Zaniolo feature and will we take an offer we can't refuse for the likes of Watkins and Douglas Luiz? Be interested in your thoughts please do it. Many many thanks for your commitment and entertaining channel UTV
Awesome Video has always. Great to see the team go live a few days ago. I commented on BBC Radio WM About Wolves submitting to scrap VAR . I think VAR could go if they are able to replace the offside with an automated system for offside, but as you say I think ultimately its about getting better in how its used and just like when you watch rugby to be able to hear what the referees conversations and the commentaries are with the off field adjudicators so everyone in the stadium can see the complete trail of thought to a decision

Hey Luke, I must correct you on one thing you said. You said that Palace are "on the beach with nothing to play for," but that's not true. Palace can finish as high as 10th (if results go their way on Sunday & if they beat Villa). Surely, Palace will be very motivated for this game.
VAR is necessary, but it needs restructuring. The rules state "clear and obvious" if it takes 4 min, it is not clear and obvious. Ref makes onfiield decision and VAR has 90 secs to agree or disagree and over rule or not.
For the Palace game I think we should prioritise game time for the players that will be with us next season. Don’t waste this great opportunity on players that’ll leave in the summer. .
As much as VAR can be annoying waiting for an eternity for an answer, it has to stay for the way we play. More than double any other teams caught offside stats.
We've been on the piss all week. This is one for the fans to serenade the players. Watkins to get his 20th. And not worry too much while Eze and Olise tear us a new one. Nice to have a stress free game for once!
I read comments about getting rid of VAR and think they are crazy. I don't want VAR if you say it SHOULD stay Don't ever moan about a Decision that goes against us..I hope you can have a programme on this subject because there's a lot to discuss on it.UTV
I disagree Luke, any contact doesn’t make things a Penalty, some of these are super soft. What we need to do is introduce red cards for simulation and use VAR for that
Although Zaniolo has been shite let’s not forget he got us two massive points Vs West Ham and Sheffield Utd or we’d be on 66 points going in on the last game needing a result 2-2 my prediction
Hey luke i am just sad after Reading a report from the sun stating we have reported highest loss in Europe i.e €119m and psr allows only €105m and they said ramesy and luiz is needed to be sold for balancing books. No point in getting cl if we have to sell this 2 players and just go back to square 1 and again need to fill this 2 position. We should add players in our current squad and not replace them.
With the old rules, we Were on the cusp. With the new rules we were supposed to be close and maybe just over so a reported £14m overspend, I find surprising. If the new sponsorship deals start before books are due, We may be able to add some months of the new figures before the due date. 🤷♂️ In anycase I wouldn't be too concerned with figures reported in the Sun. Our owners are smart and wouldn't have gone over unless intentionally going way over. The new rules may have been a surprise leaving teams no way to plan so, anyone over who wasn't previously will have a good time in the courts. Also don't forget the fight for the structure of the Rogers deal. They obviously had in mind what could be done and what couldn't. Dougie and/or Ollie will not be sold. Plenty of other assets to move on before that. Loans come to an end come Monday so their wages off the books for a few months. Not saying things aren't tight but £14m over from the figures I saw on a football finance channel a few months is a massive difference and I'd refrain from going with the sun.
With semi automated coming in, VAR won't get involved with offsides surely? From what has happened this season, they don't seem to improve the people using VAR, they just change the rules of the game instead. The incompetence won't go away so scrap VAR in my opinion
If you only watch highlights and think Diaby had a bad game vs Liverpool, you've been duped. If you watch football all the time and watched the full game vs Liverpool and belive Diaby had a bad game, you should have gone to specsavers or just found another sport by now.

I've always thought 2 things can be true. A player can be fouled but also dive. Book for the dive even if it's a pen and the players will stop going down easily eradicating tough decisions.
im all for VAR. its still the refs making poor decisions and will be worse without VAR. EVEN with the semi automated offside which should be fine for our High Line. No one wants hand ball goals being given, or penalties for diving. There should be not a inch of room for allowing any sort of cheating and bending the rules in the game.
I love Emery, he's an amazing manager, but he clearly has zero faith in the youth players. They've been desperately needed with all our injuries, yet, they were very very rarely used. I don't see a future for any of these players at the club. All of them will be loaned out or sold in the summer
Just looking to offer a different perspective for you. The problem is sometimes that putting a youngsters confidence on test in front of thousands has SURELY killed many a potential kids future? Just look at the slagging that a professional adult like Bailey or Diaby gets and imagine your youngster getting abused for any slip or trip? Nah, he’ll give them a chance when it’s in THE KIDS best interest, hopefully?

@@outofthetrash5925 True. I haven't seen many bookings for "simulation" this season
im all for VAR. its still the refs making poor decisions and will be worse without VAR.
