Thank you for these clear instructions. Can you also explain how to get the donation button to show on a website page? This video seems to miss this step or I somehow missed it.
You add the donate button (or link) to the menu of the website. So once you have the page created you would go to Appearance > Menu and add the page there. To make it button depends on which theme you use. Some will have this feature and others won't. I would suggest searching UA-cam on "how to add button to WordPress menu using THEMENAME HERE".
You probably dont care but does any of you know of a trick to get back into an instagram account..? I was stupid forgot the account password. I love any tips you can give me.
It's not built in to the plugin. You'd have to do some custom coding which is beyond what we can help with. Sorry. But you can try contacting the folks at GiveWP - their support is pretty good at helping with things link this.
I want that x% of each successful order to get donated for a social cause. I also want to show a donation box on the website showing the money collected for the cause, which gets automatically updated with each order. Here the money is not an extra payment from the customer but is going from the website owner. Can you please help me, how to configure this or tell which plugin has this functionality
Not sure GiveWP can do eveything you are wanting but they do have an addon that adds donations a persons cart when they checkout. It works with Woocommerce. Here is link to addon givewp.com/addons/donation-upsells-for-woocommerce/
It's a bit extensive to post how to do this in the comments. But, here are three resources for you. givewp.com/add-give-form-popup-to-menu/, ua-cam.com/video/RLEdTLiiPzk/v-deo.html, givewp.com/donation-form-popup-wordpress/. If you are familiar with shortcode and have a popup widget installed, you can likely just add it that way as well. Good luck. Oh, and I just found this video. It may be the best ua-cam.com/video/Yit1UcBQi6I/v-deo.html
In this video at 16:54 it shows you how to add a donation form to a page. It is that page that you share with social media. Just copy the page link and paste it in a social post.
Thanks for posting an informative video. Is this still all still similar a year on I wonder? I’m looking forward to trying it anyway because all the Donations apps you can buy for a non profit seem very steeply priced, this is a much better idea and affordable, thank you !
That sounds like your browser is auto-populating the form for you. If so, that is nothing to worry about as it will only happen on your computer. Happens to me all the time when I make these videos. It just prefills all my info. You can either clear your browser cache or check the page on someone else computer. If your info still shows up then that would be a problem worth investigating. If not, then it is just your browser cache. Nothing to worry about.
Depends on the payment gateway. Stripe usually has it to you in three days. But with paypal, you have to go in and "withdraw" it. And I do not now how long that takes. (Though, there is way to set up paypal to do autowithdrawals, but it is not setup by default.). Hope that helps.
@@pk5773 Oh, well, that would have nothing to do with the plugin. I'd check with the support team of the payment gateway to make sure your organization is approved and set up correctly.
Got everything set up and got as far as "Donation Options" and clicked and nothing happens. None of them work. Only one that works is "Form Template". Got any suggestions?
That doesn't make sense. They should all work. You should be able to pick form fields, donation etc. What do you mean they don't work? Are they grayed out and unclickable? Have you tried selecting a Form Template first? I wonder if you have a plugin conflict? Or if something is out of date? Hard to trouble shoot without more info. Try turning off all plugins except Give and see if it works?
@@npally ok so I deactivated all plug in and cleared the wordpress site cache and selected form and named it and then tried to click on the next tab "Donations" and it does not work. None of the tabs work under "New Form".
Yup. Basically each "form" is its own campaign. I help manage a site that has over 50 forms each tracking their own total amount, their own donor list and their own goal. Hmmm... this is a good idea for another video.

GiveWP has a free version. If you want premium features (like recurring donations, more payment gateway options, anonymous donors, etc) then it does cost money. Are you sure you are using the right plugin? GiveWP doesn't have a monthly plan and a basic license for year is about $100.
why would you bait and switch us like that? you're showing a donations page with image, goal and very ux friendly in the thumbnail, also at the end, but in the tutorial you're showing us one that's not ugly, no image and no donors

Is it always multi-page or can the form just be 1 short page?
When you create the form, just choose "Legacy" and you will get the one page form. I use it a lot on sites. It's more traditional looking.
