  • When the fir dries, it becomes pure white. Combined with the beauty of the elegant grain, it is just like a "white lady".
The fir tree this time is a fir tree that grew up in local Kirishima. The firs grown in this land are characterized by their particularly white color, and are called "Kirishima Momi".
There are four tree species with the kirishima crown: Kirishima cedar, Kirishima pine, Kirishima tsuga, and Kirishima momi.
Tsuga writes “mother” on the wooden half, but Momi writes “obey” on the wooden half.
Fir grows around the mother hemlock.

So beautiful. And I see that grandson is already running around, soon he'll be talking and thats when the laughter and fun starts : ) And I don't know about being called an old couple, watching you two jump around while working is like watching rabbits : ) Loved this video, thank you so much for sharing it and the history of the "Kirishima Momi"

I'm Larry of Vermont/ U.S.A. I've been following over 3 yrs. I ❤ wood. I'm a disabled remodeling carpenter and builder for 33yrs. ( Because I'm disabled. 9 ladder accidents from the years 1978 to 2011) I did firewood for 40 yrs. For my family & myself. Me & my brother would do 12 cords for our first of 1982/1983. I dream of having my own sawmill. I learned a lot from your husband, & other U--Tube sawmills. This Kirishima fir is so beautiful. ❤❤❤❤ One of your husband's greatest looking trees. ❤❤❤❤ Thanks for sharing histories of these Japanese trees. Interesting. 😍😊😉👍❤️💜⚘️🙏
