  • Hiroshima Atomic Bomb Dome - 原爆ドーム : Japan is the only country in the world that had to suffer the horror of one of the most destructive forces ever created by mankind : an atomic bomb.
Preserved as a witness of such horror, the Hiroshima Peace Memorial, also known as the Atomic Bomb Dome or Genbaku Dome, was the only structure left standing in the area where the first atomic bomb exploded on 6 August 1945.
It is honestly difficult to describe the chilling effect that such a sight gives you in real life and once in front of this structure, one can only hope that we will soon evolve into more compassionate and peaceful beings, strong enough to put an end to worldwide suffering.

The choice to film it on a rainy day, whether intentional or not, was a brilliant one. The thunder in the background definitely sets the tone properly.

Great video, I've seen pictures of this building before, but never a video like this. There is a statue of Shinran Shonin in NYC that survived the atomic bomb in Hiroshima. It was standing only 1 mile away from the center of the explosion. Ten years after the war it was brought to NYC as a symbol of peace, where it stands to this day.

What students learn at school about the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki: It made the Imperial Japan surrender and saved the lives of thousends of Americans, who would have died at the invasion of the Japan-Main-Islands.
What you learn if youn look really deep into it: The Japanese Goverment already wanted to surrender. The only condition the American diplomats named the Japanese Goverment wouldn't agree to was the abdication of the Tenno. But the reason they said that was that they already thought of Stalin's Soviet Union as a rival and wanted to demonstrate the power the American Army had with the A-Bombs. So they dropped the bomb on Hiroshima and killed thousands of civilians. Again the Japanese Goverment wanted to surrender, but again it wasn't accepted. Now the American Army wanted to see what the difference between the Uran-Bomb from Hiroshima and a Plutonium-Bomb is. So they dropped the second bomb on Nagasaki and again killed thousands of civilian. If they had enough material for a Tritium-Bomb, a third Japanese city would have been bombed.
That is what really happend. You can believe it or not, but fact is: both the bombing against Hiroshima and Nagasaki had nothing to do with military reasons. They were nothing more than war crimes.
And just to make it clear: I'm not saying whoever was responsible for throwing these bombs should be sentenced. That is even something the survivors of Hiroshima and Nagasaki don't want. What I want is that every person knows what horror mankind had created and used in the name of "Justice" just because some people wanted to show how much power they had. Killing civilians has nothing to do with "Justice" and will never, it's just barbaric.
And I really recommand that if you ever have the chance to visit Hiroshima, go and visit the A-Bomb Dome and the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum. I don't know what you thought about the atomic bombing before, but after the second half of the Museum you'll also think that it was something mankind should never have done and should never do again, no matter what.

From what I read, the “third shot” (another Fat Man design) was to be dropped directly over the Imperial Palace in Tokyo, on August 13th, 1945. The military planed to nuke a total of 12 cities. Kokura would definitely have been nuked (it was supposed to be the 2nd city) as well as Niigata and Yokohama. Kyoto kept getting put back on the list and that would’ve eventually been nuked as well. So sickening that it was a show of power to WOW the Russians. Truman was a fuckin monster to have so millions of innocent civilians killed. Definitely crimes against humanity.
