For what you get and what you need, little pricey at $329.99. Maybe at like $200 would be more feasible. You could get the SCX10 builders kit for $199.

Yeah they are expensive, conaidering you have to buy all electronics seperatley....
I would get, (in fact i have) scx10 deadbolt, they are the best value crawler, they will last forever and you can change them to any thing you want!!!!!

I'm pining for another kit to build but these are over $600 preorder in Australia :-(

I think the deadbolt is the best value,
On axial's website the capra is 30 dollers more
In australia the capra is 170 dollers more.
But point remaining the capra is aweaome!!!! (As a rock crawler)
If i was going to build another kit i would get the umg its a better trail truck. Capra is a crawler so depends on what you want.
I would get the cross rc hc4 for a scale truck, that would be a fun build, (it wouldnt suit my driving style tho)

Yeah it is holding up good.
Still verry impressed at its capabilities.
If you want a crawling rig this would be my choice.
The total cost is allot because i used good elecrronics.
Depending where you are located im in australia a ready to run one is 779.
Mine cost way more also keep in mind you might already have some stuff.
Mine was the car plus,
200 servo
400 esc motor
200 dx5c
60 receiver
100 hyrax
30 battery x2
20 dig servo
6 lights
110 charger
So its pretty expensive but you could just go brushed and that would save you lots if you want to do it cheap.
I would use the new spectrum 2 in one receiver esc.
Anyway i hope that helps!
UPDATE:
Well, that was fast. I just received an email from AMain (literally, less than 5min ago), with the tracking number. If UPS picks it up today, I could receive it tomorrow.
I just built myn and wish it was that simple.
Needs 90mm shocks, one may be in my future, but I’m having fun with project bulletproof Deadbolt

Nice video.The more I see the Capra the more I *NEED* it lol portals have never appealed to me but I think they are perfect for the Capra, the on axle servo is great, no bump steer and less slop and would be fun to try a DIG.
Yeah its really great quality, this is a NEED, the axle mounted servo is a compramise but i like it, going to try out the dig tomorrow now that i have the servo!!!!!

Fantastic video...just subscribed. Until now, all my vehicles (with the exception of my XRAY T4) have been off-road race vehicles (2WD & 4WD). This will be my first crawler...tho, I'm getting it for "rock racing".
I pre-ordered mine a couple weeks ago from AMain (Chico, CA, USA). According to my order info, it should be shipping tomorrow (9/28)...so, just waiting for my "shipment" notification w/ tracking number. In the same order, I also pre-ordered the 2 servos (one for steering, the other for the DIG), & a 6-channel Rx. I'm still trying to decide on an ESC/motor combo, as well as tires. Speaking of motor (since I haven't been able to find any info online), does the Capra only for a 540 can, it can it for a 550? While the ROC412 is a great motor, I'm considering the ROC412 HD...but, into I know whether it's 540-only, or whether a 550 will fit, I can't order my ESC/motor combo.
I do plan on adding LEDs to the headlight buckets, but I need to find red LED headlights, not white/yellow. As such, if anyone knows where to get good quality (ie. no "imports", please...US businesses only) red LED headlights for 1/10-scale RC vehicles, if you could post info here, I'd greatly appreciate it.
NOTE TO ultraRC: There were two things in the "build montage" that peaked my 'curiosity'. First, why use a power drill (with hex bits)? If you over-tighten (as can easily happen when using power tools) when screwing into plastic, you can easily strip the threads in the plastic, making that part "useless". Of all the build videos I've seen, all others have always said to never use power tools, and for the very reason I stated, above. Second, for screwing metal-to-metal points, you used red Loctite, as opposed to blue Loctite...why? Red threadlocker is designed for almost-permanent hold, this the reason it's used in automotive, motorcycle, and other applications where super-strong, semi-permanent hold is required. Blue threadlocker, on the other hand, has a medium-strong hold, which is more than strong-enough for RC use, but releases far easier (when heat is applied) than red. As with the power tools comment, in all build videos I've watched, it had always been stated to only use blue, and to never use red, when building RCs.

You are right about the drill and threadlock, but the kit came with the red threadlock and you never want the locker to unscrew, as for the drill its fine because mine is old and i can adjust the torque setting so all screws are ok!!!
There is not much room for a bigger motor so i would stick with the standard, thanks for watching ULTRA RC mate!!!!

@@CORINKERSTEN Regarding the ECX Barrage 1.9 LEDs, the places I've found that carry them are "out of stock"...so, need to find alternate options. Most LEDs I find are listed as 3mm, or 5mm. Just by chance, what is the diameter of the ECX Barrage 1.9 LEDs?

They are cheap as and come with 2 white 5mm which would fit the capra and 2 small 3mm red ones which could just be cut off or put somewhere else, i put mine on the rear.

Needs a portal delete. It rides way too high and doesn't need them.

I used tamiya ps2 which is red and ps23 which is gun metal

I've been assaulted over it. I was victorious in court mostly because wearing a hat in doors is legal and assault is not. I wore a hat to court to prove a point. The judge didn't mind.
