I think I finally understand Raven’s character. She isn’t evil, she’s broken. She left Tai because she felt that summer would be a better mom to yang than she ever could be. Then she agreed to go with Summer on the mission, knowing it was suicide but she had faith in her partner. Now she finds out salem is immortal, summer died and Ozpin had no plan. Everything she did that she thought was right blew up in her face. No wonder she went back to being a bandit, she thinks everything is her fault and couldn’t bear to face Tai, Yang or Qrow. To her, being a bandit is all she is good at
Rather than "it's everything she's good at," in my own head I think it might be more along the lines of "it's the only place that's safe to her." I think Raven's been broken in a way that scared her out of her goddamn mind and she did what really most people do: seeking comfort from her family. It's just that to her, family are the people she grew up with, not the people she met later in life. They say family are the people you're closest to, regardless of blood. But there are people who need family to be more than just love. Some people need family to mean safety, comfort, even hiding and just forgetting about what's going on in life right now. And I think that right there is Raven. We learned this episode that she felt out of her element trying to settle down and be a mother/wife. So chances are she never felt at home in her own home, even though she's been one of two people to create it. Then she goes on a mission where she has to witness something horrible happening to her team leader, aka a woman who's basically a living legend with a literal grimm destroying super power, she learns the whole truth about the world and Ozpin and just like that, everything she thought she knew crumbles in front of her. So, she runs. It's too much to take, she breaks, she needs to breathe and she runs back to the only safe place she still trusts to not be a lie: her tribe. And she ends up staying because they end up proving they're still everything she knows. She knows this life and she falls back into it because she has no idea how to deal with what's left of the life that was just shattered in front of her eyes. She's a terrified woman who's been on autopilot in survival mode for the past 15+ years. At least that's what I think. Not criticizing your own headcanon or anything, just comparing thoughts here. ^^

Qrow had it easier, he thought he found his real place to belong to outside the tribe. But for Raven they were still her family, I don't think they were the warmest people but they taught her what she knows and probably protected her until she was ready. The tribe are criminals and I don't think the rest of the team approved of them, so they might have been also against how they raised their youth. So maybe, in a moment of postpartum depression, it got into her head that she wouldn't be a good mom by the standard of her team, that they would prefer if she didn't get involved to poison the child, that they would never truly accept her and her love for her tribe. So she decided to go and take responsibility for the protection of her tribe. Trusting Summer to be better mother to Yang. Maybe she also suspected that Tai and Summer had feelings for each other so she decided to let them be.

Raven was never an evil person and I always pictured her as someone broken who's just trying to hide her fears, traumas and generally emotions behind this tough, cold and cocky exterior. Typical behavior for people who are trying to hide how much they've suffered and don't wanna show emotions or weaknesses. She left because she thought she wasn't gonna be a good mom, maybe she probably didn't even know how to be a mom to begin with. And the fact that she told Summer she's better for that role than she'll ever be spoke volumes to me. Raven was actually nice, shy, hesitant and concerned in this scene, and it's sad to see how much this mission affected her in the following years, changing her and making her stay in the only place she felt was still safe: her tribe. I REALLY hope she comes back next volume and the characters (especially Ruby and Yang) give her a chance to explain what happened cause WE NEED TO KNOW

1:34 it really feels like the old Ruby is back especially with this fast animation of her brandishing her weapon quickly and using the sniper to propel herself. It took me back pre-volume 4 when the fighting animation felt smoother. This is the first time I was hyped seeing Ruby fight someone since she fought Roman and Neo during Volume 3.
Yeah its something i truly missed those fast pased crazy fights made rwby for me then they stopped since they were mostly done by monty I hope it becomes the norm again.
Last time they fought together was the V8 finale, when they got their asses whooped no chance standing. How are they suddenly so good at fighting together? And with no commands or leadership, just on the fly defeated the creature who knocked the aura out of Jaune with 1 hit (really nice of the devs to have him useless in a final battle by the way, really profound)
@@glibchubik4090 No, even during those volumes, Team RWBY did not fight with such unity. Look at their fight closer. They were not fighting actually together, but instead, split apart to handle enemies in different areas. Jaune took the most major hits from the last episode and this one. When Cat Neo used Penny to make Jaune freeze, he then used Pyrrha to land a harsh blow to Jaune from behind. Jaune also took a hit from Weiss's fire blast and fell from atop the tree to the ground. So that final hit he took was going to be harsh on his Aura. Jaune wasn't useless even then. Jaune was the one who figured out how to pull the Cat out of Neo in the first place. If he didn't, then even if Ruby came back, it would have been a tough fight to defeat the Cat, cause he'd have access to Neo's Semblance that could keep producing copies almost endlessly.

Like something to merge their personalities because Neo doesn't feel complete without him. But then comes this thing with memory loss as we see with Little. Will she even remember about Remnant when she's back?
You know I really loved that. Ruby came back, Curious had been dealt with, Neo going to find herself(hopefully as an ally than enemy), the Brothers origin, Jaune got young again, and most importantly, they're back on Remnant, in Vacuo. Basically, the finale: Your choices and actions, regardless of a bad or a good one, have consequences; your actions and choices will always have an effect on someone, regardless of how big or small they are. And most importantly: You are enough.
This volume is FAR FAR FAAAR away from perfection, but it's still overall a good one, actually a decent one, my top 4. People just look over the smallest details and then complain about it, do they really expect a perfection comes out of Rooster Teeth's RWBY? Have your expectations lower than the one you had on the last volume, if you do that then the next volume that'll come out will definitely be more worth it. Stop hating ya'll, everyone said that this volume is worse than a fan fiction made by 8 yrs old, yet they can't even make a concrete story themselves, the irony.

You can hate on the show if the mistake is so big that it ruins the entire experience, but these people all argue about the character that aren't supposed to be there on Ruby's illusion attack (Clover) and about that no development is done in this volume (which is false, Ruby is now an actual human being (not a positive vibe robot trying to give speech about being positive) that didn't hold her feeling inside her, Jaune is trying to cope him his loneliness and now try to to heal slowly, and Neo is now embracing that blaming something one someone isn't going to worth anything.

As someone who’s never been Neo’s biggest fan, I thought this was a great sendoff for her. I’m sure we’ll see her again but for now, it was a great ending for her character.
I dont think she will return. The cat said it best: she has no attachments to remnant, nothing to return to. But yeah this was a very satisfying ending for neos character

Then i applaude RWBYJ- that was mighty clever and pretty evil from them
Thery've left it open for themselves. If they want to or if they need to, they can bring Neo back for plot or character development. Or they can leave her story here, and it's a satisfying conclusion, I think. But I don't expect her to "turn good". Finding herself won't mean finding a new moral compass. If she does return, I expect she'll be more a lone-ranger / anti-hero type.

Volume 8 ended on a very sad and dark and depressing note by having Atlas Fall and killing off a few characters especially Penny, left us wondering what happened to team RWBY, Jaune, and Neo. But I’m glad everything worked out fine in this volume and gave us a happy ending.
This had everything; Jaune returning to normal (barring some stripes), Neo choosing to change herself, another glimpse of Vacuo and Ruby's message to stand up was taken to heart. I sure hope it hasn't been months or years since Vol 8.

Gonna be honest seeing team rwby fight Curious was like seeing a piece of Monty again. Ups and downs but I could feel the love and care put into this volume
I hope so too, man. I really do. My faith in CRWBY and RT has really waned these last few years with the last couple volumes. I hope that this will be enough of a refresh for Warner-Discovery to give RT enough funding and resources so they can keep the momentum going, knock out that Justice League crossover sooner so they can refocus on RWBY itself, and give us a proper, half decent conclusion to the series.
I hope not because this chapter sucks. Nothing significant has happened, our heroes are identical to how they were at the beginning. What was the point of this chapter?

This whole crossover with DC gives me the vibe that Warner-Discovery doesn't have any confidence in RWBY as a standalone brand and they're using the Justice League crossover as a guage to see if RWBY is even worth keeping. Apparently the crossover comics did very poorly by modern day comic book standards. Apparently the new head head of Warner-Discovery is not a fan of animation so that already gives RT a huge disadvantage since it's the only thing keeping them afloat.
This was the perfect finale to this Volume. Ruby had been struggling with who she was and who she needed to be, only to learn even her mother the idol hero in her mind wasn't perfect. That even if you do a little good it can go a long way and her accepting herself and joining the fight might be one of my fav RWBY moments of all time. Splendid stuff, I eagerly hope we get more in Volume 10.

Ruby's return and following Battle could not have been more perfect! Brilliant animation, killer music, it practically had everything. And playing "Red Like Roses" as she breaks free... SPECTACULAR!

I actually loved how much this volume did for Ruby and Jaune. They were always helping and encouraging others for so long, I feel like Jaune's last emotional development was in v6 with Pyrrha's statue, and I don't think aging him back ruins his experience. He still gained a lot and learnt so much about himself and what he wants to do and achieve, tho he spent years of his life alone. He deserves the same chance as Ruby to be him and truly do the things he wants. And Ruby, my dear girl, I'm so proud of her, I was wildly sobbing over her this whole volume
I'm pretty sure Weiss is now willing to bet for a relationship with him, after all, she knows what awaits her in a few years. She's thinking in the long game.
CRWBY proved they can somewhat cook with the cinematic effects and the fight choreography with Ruby during the first part of the fight, now they just need to deliver like that for more episodes.
That "This will be the Day" guitar rift at the end was masterfully done by Roosterteeth. The lyrics for the rift match perfectly to the end of the volume, "This will be the day we waited for, this will be the day we open up the door"
0:54 This has to be the singular BEST time in a while at least the Ruby has used Crescent Rose and Petal Burst (her semblance) in combination she swings around CR she uses the recoil of her gun to punish even an attempt at attacking her, when she goes a little too far she uses PB to close the distance IMMEDIATELY and just start SWINGING as well as doing small bursts to dodge, she constantly blocks the Cats arms with the reach of CR while swinging and dealing damage constantly I just have no complaints this is peak fighting Monty WOULD BE PROUD because Ruby uses her two greatest strengths the weight of CR and her ability to completely disregard the laws of physics uhhhh I mean PB And don’t even get me STARTED on that team attack that was DOPE AS HELL Also I almost squealed when red like roses started playing but I do kinda wish that it kept playing throughout the fight like it stops while Jaune is speaking and restarts after the cats first strike just me? Oh yeah and Somewhat what’s also great 😊

You know, for as much as we criticize the writing and direction of the show and how CRWBY has seemingly done a questionable job handling certain characters, it's moments like this that give me hope. RWBY can still give us wonderful moments like this that reminds us of why we fell in love with this series to begin with. It also gives me a little more hope that Warner-Discovery doesn't give the ax to RT and killing off RWBY before it can reach a proper, half decent conclusion.
The red like roses when she finally decides, the new but same emblem, and us getting to see her old fighting style from the older days onces again. Gosh it all brought tears to my eyes ❤❤❤❤

As much as I am happy that Ruby got her confidence back (it remains to be seen if she will be as happy and positive as she used to), now I am more confused than ever on why she thought wanted turn into someone else. While I personally never wanted her to turn into something different she said it so many times that I was convinced atleast something would change, like her making a new weapon or getting a new look.
It’s more realization. Ruby thought she should change as she wasn’t enough. But knowing her mother wasn’t perfect as she though bc she lied, and hearing her mother say how she loves her for who she it. She realizes she is enough as the blacksmith says
Holy crap! Ruby became even more badass! Her fight style is like that in this trailer of her visiting her mom grave and she fighting the Beowulf. They’re making Ruby fighting even more badass, and seeing all the RWBY crew all ganged up and beating the crap out of Cat was awasome!
That whole final Attack sequence felt like the Sonic Heroes’ Super Sonic Attack. Also that overall fight choreography was way smooth. Still think Ruby kind of got over her funk a little quick, but I guess now she has her purpose back. Still wonder how she’s going to roll with the punches now. Edit: God dammit this show is like an addiction, as much as I can pick at stuff, I always come back cause I still enjoy it on some level.
Same. Lord knows my faith in CRWBY and RT has been waning for a few years now and they have definitely made some very questionable creative decisions. But moments like these definitely give me a little more hope for the future that things will get better.

Ruby found herself, jaune got his youth back, and Neo gets a chance to rebuild herself. Also how did Little get even more adorable?! Yeah...that extra year of hiatus was worth it. My new favorite volume!!!
My only real complaint is that Ruby didn't get a outfit change after ascending, unless she actually didn't ascend because she chose herself? Other than that, great finale.
I wonder what Ren, Nora and Oscar have been up to while team RWJBY (yes that was intentional because Jaune was with them) were stuck in the everafter. Also I'm proud of Ruby, she fought her demons and discovered what she wanted to be without the help of the others. There's one thing she has that the others don't, its being stubborn and having the iron will to keep going as the leader.
I loved this episode, it was amazing 🥰🥰 Their teamwork when fighting the cat, Ruby finding herself again, that moment when they became their colours and they all slayed the cat. How Neo graciously saying goodbye, them getting all the answers. You might never have liked Neo, but you got to admit she has style. Next volume in vacuo if it comes, I do hope so, I love these characters and I want to see the end of the story.
@@genericname4739 maybe even in what’s considered the big “final” confrontation, Neo fills in as a fourth to take out Cinder for good. Because at this point Cinder isn’t Ruby’s opponent, Salem is. Cinder’s REAL opponent is Jaune now, as far as I’m concerned, and Neo might just have a score to settle still once she “finds herself”.
I am absolutely blown away- it might be because the episode was just released but I think this might be the perfect episode of RWBY Not only that but the fact that everything was executed so well means that this is now my favorite volume of RWBY- which is crazy cause V2 was always my favorite with V3 super close behind it

This felt good. The characters, the feels, and especially the action. Since Volume 3, the fights just didn't feel like they were clicking. But that last one was utter perfection.
She came back with renewed resolve and with her badass style returned. Little, no, Somewhat? Amazing. This finale was wonderful. Time to wait for the Vacuo arc.
I hope they don’t try to ship Weiss & Jaune. It would be weird cause even if he is young again Jaune now has the mentality of a man in his (I’m guessing) 40’s and it would honestly feel a bit weird.
@@mohdgabril4840 I’m not saying he’s gonna be saying “Dang kids these days.” I’m saying how it’ll be strange that if the show tries to ship Jaune with Weiss or anyone it would be weird cause Jaune is technically a fully grown man returned to his youth. Also I would be incredibly annoyed if Jaune went through everything he went through and the story decides to ignore all that character growth to just go back to status quo.

Judging from the ending the blacksmith when they are needed and at that time it showed atlas still floating. Probably it's for team rwby to change the near future. Probably won't stop Salem but will probably reduce her advantages. Not sure how it will fix certain continuity like neo being absent from participating in Salem and cinder schemes

I actually would have liked to see the Cat being Ascended, especially seeing that at the beginning he was a really benevolent being. Who knows if Little will replace Curious Cat's role, or if it would be a new Cat.

I think I finally understand Raven’s character. She isn’t evil, she’s broken. She left Tai because she felt that summer would be a better mom to yang than she ever could be. Then she agreed to go with Summer on the mission, knowing it was suicide but she had faith in her partner. Now she finds out salem is immortal, summer died and Ozpin had no plan. Everything she did that she thought was right blew up in her face. No wonder she went back to being a bandit, she thinks everything is her fault and couldn’t bear to face Tai, Yang or Qrow. To her, being a bandit is all she is good at
Rather than "it's everything she's good at," in my own head I think it might be more along the lines of "it's the only place that's safe to her." I think Raven's been broken in a way that scared her out of her goddamn mind and she did what really most people do: seeking comfort from her family. It's just that to her, family are the people she grew up with, not the people she met later in life. They say family are the people you're closest to, regardless of blood. But there are people who need family to be more than just love. Some people need family to mean safety, comfort, even hiding and just forgetting about what's going on in life right now. And I think that right there is Raven.
We learned this episode that she felt out of her element trying to settle down and be a mother/wife. So chances are she never felt at home in her own home, even though she's been one of two people to create it. Then she goes on a mission where she has to witness something horrible happening to her team leader, aka a woman who's basically a living legend with a literal grimm destroying super power, she learns the whole truth about the world and Ozpin and just like that, everything she thought she knew crumbles in front of her. So, she runs. It's too much to take, she breaks, she needs to breathe and she runs back to the only safe place she still trusts to not be a lie: her tribe. And she ends up staying because they end up proving they're still everything she knows. She knows this life and she falls back into it because she has no idea how to deal with what's left of the life that was just shattered in front of her eyes. She's a terrified woman who's been on autopilot in survival mode for the past 15+ years. At least that's what I think. Not criticizing your own headcanon or anything, just comparing thoughts here. ^^

Qrow had it easier, he thought he found his real place to belong to outside the tribe. But for Raven they were still her family, I don't think they were the warmest people but they taught her what she knows and probably protected her until she was ready. The tribe are criminals and I don't think the rest of the team approved of them, so they might have been also against how they raised their youth. So maybe, in a moment of postpartum depression, it got into her head that she wouldn't be a good mom by the standard of her team, that they would prefer if she didn't get involved to poison the child, that they would never truly accept her and her love for her tribe. So she decided to go and take responsibility for the protection of her tribe. Trusting Summer to be better mother to Yang. Maybe she also suspected that Tai and Summer had feelings for each other so she decided to let them be.
Reinforces my belief that there was a good show buried underneath all the crap.

Raven was never an evil person and I always pictured her as someone broken who's just trying to hide her fears, traumas and generally emotions behind this tough, cold and cocky exterior. Typical behavior for people who are trying to hide how much they've suffered and don't wanna show emotions or weaknesses. She left because she thought she wasn't gonna be a good mom, maybe she probably didn't even know how to be a mom to begin with. And the fact that she told Summer she's better for that role than she'll ever be spoke volumes to me. Raven was actually nice, shy, hesitant and concerned in this scene, and it's sad to see how much this mission affected her in the following years, changing her and making her stay in the only place she felt was still safe: her tribe.
I REALLY hope she comes back next volume and the characters (especially Ruby and Yang) give her a chance to explain what happened cause WE NEED TO KNOW
She also still loves Tai too. So her guilt hurts her even more as she doesn't feel worthy of his love as he still loves her too.

1:34 it really feels like the old Ruby is back especially with this fast animation of her brandishing her weapon quickly and using the sniper to propel herself. It took me back pre-volume 4 when the fighting animation felt smoother. This is the first time I was hyped seeing Ruby fight someone since she fought Roman and Neo during Volume 3.
It definitely felt more classic

Been a LONG time since Team RWBY fought in such unity. They really are the most powerful team when they fight without any doubt in them.
Last time they fought together was the V8 finale, when they got their asses whooped no chance standing. How are they suddenly so good at fighting together? And with no commands or leadership, just on the fly defeated the creature who knocked the aura out of Jaune with 1 hit (really nice of the devs to have him useless in a final battle by the way, really profound)
I mean, given they were burdened by doing and fear that is one thing.
As for Jaune: Incorrect. It was multiple hits over the course of two episodes.
@@glibchubik4090 No, even during those volumes, Team RWBY did not fight with such unity. Look at their fight closer. They were not fighting actually together, but instead, split apart to handle enemies in different areas.
Jaune took the most major hits from the last episode and this one. When Cat Neo used Penny to make Jaune freeze, he then used Pyrrha to land a harsh blow to Jaune from behind. Jaune also took a hit from Weiss's fire blast and fell from atop the tree to the ground. So that final hit he took was going to be harsh on his Aura.
Jaune wasn't useless even then. Jaune was the one who figured out how to pull the Cat out of Neo in the first place. If he didn't, then even if Ruby came back, it would have been a tough fight to defeat the Cat, cause he'd have access to Neo's Semblance that could keep producing copies almost endlessly.

Will she even remember about Remnant when she's back?

Ruby came back, Curious had been dealt with, Neo going to find herself(hopefully as an ally than enemy), the Brothers origin, Jaune got young again, and most importantly, they're back on Remnant, in Vacuo. This volume is FAR FAR FAAAR away from perfection, but it's still overall a good one, actually a decent one, my top 4.
People just look over the smallest details and then complain about it, do they really expect a perfection comes out of Rooster Teeth's RWBY? Have your expectations lower than the one you had on the last volume, if you do that then the next volume that'll come out will definitely be more worth it. Stop hating ya'll, everyone said that this volume is worse than a fan fiction made by 8 yrs old, yet they can't even make a concrete story themselves, the irony.

Neo directly killed dozens and participated in possibly killing hungreds during Volume 8, she's stabbed Yang, fully intended on killing her, which led to all we know during Volume 8's finale, she forced Ruby to drink the tea by mentally breaking her down, which in her eyes was death- and she enjoyed it! (before suddenly losing all meaning for some reason)
If anyone didn't deserve to stay alive, it was Neo. She deserved death. Although if they let her live to be used as a weapon against Cinder... Then i applaude RWBYJ- that was mighty clever and pretty evil from them
Thery've left it open for themselves. If they want to or if they need to, they can bring Neo back for plot or character development. Or they can leave her story here, and it's a satisfying conclusion, I think. But I don't expect her to "turn good". Finding herself won't mean finding a new moral compass. If she does return, I expect she'll be more a lone-ranger / anti-hero type.

Volume 8 ended on a very sad and dark and depressing note by having Atlas Fall and killing off a few characters especially Penny, left us wondering what happened to team RWBY, Jaune, and Neo. But I’m glad everything worked out fine in this volume and gave us a happy ending.
This had everything; Jaune returning to normal (barring some stripes), Neo choosing to change herself, another glimpse of Vacuo and Ruby's message to stand up was taken to heart.
I sure hope it hasn't been months or years since Vol 8.

Gonna be honest seeing team rwby fight Curious was like seeing a piece of Monty again. Ups and downs but I could feel the love and care put into this volume

I hope so too, man. I really do. My faith in CRWBY and RT has really waned these last few years with the last couple volumes. I hope that this will be enough of a refresh for Warner-Discovery to give RT enough funding and resources so they can keep the momentum going, knock out that Justice League crossover sooner so they can refocus on RWBY itself, and give us a proper, half decent conclusion to the series.
I hope not because this chapter sucks. Nothing significant has happened, our heroes are identical to how they were at the beginning. What was the point of this chapter?

This whole crossover with DC gives me the vibe that Warner-Discovery doesn't have any confidence in RWBY as a standalone brand and they're using the Justice League crossover as a guage to see if RWBY is even worth keeping. Apparently the crossover comics did very poorly by modern day comic book standards. Apparently the new head head of Warner-Discovery is not a fan of animation so that already gives RT a huge disadvantage since it's the only thing keeping them afloat.

This was the perfect finale to this Volume. Ruby had been struggling with who she was and who she needed to be, only to learn even her mother the idol hero in her mind wasn't perfect. That even if you do a little good it can go a long way and her accepting herself and joining the fight might be one of my fav RWBY moments of all time.

I actually loved how much this volume did for Ruby and Jaune. They were always helping and encouraging others for so long, I feel like Jaune's last emotional development was in v6 with Pyrrha's statue, and I don't think aging him back ruins his experience. He still gained a lot and learnt so much about himself and what he wants to do and achieve, tho he spent years of his life alone. He deserves the same chance as Ruby to be him and truly do the things he wants. And Ruby, my dear girl, I'm so proud of her, I was wildly sobbing over her this whole volume

CRWBY proved they can somewhat cook with the cinematic effects and the fight choreography with Ruby during the first part of the fight, now they just need to deliver like that for more episodes.
That "This will be the Day" guitar rift at the end was masterfully done by Roosterteeth. The lyrics for the rift match perfectly to the end of the volume, "This will be the day we waited for, this will be the day we open up the door"

This has to be the singular BEST time in a while at least the Ruby has used Crescent Rose and Petal Burst (her semblance) in combination she swings around CR she uses the recoil of her gun to punish even an attempt at attacking her, when she goes a little too far she uses PB to close the distance IMMEDIATELY and just start SWINGING as well as doing small bursts to dodge, she constantly blocks the Cats arms with the reach of CR while swinging and dealing damage constantly I just have no complaints this is peak fighting Monty WOULD BE PROUD because Ruby uses her two greatest strengths the weight of CR and her ability to completely disregard the laws of physics uhhhh I mean PB
And don’t even get me STARTED on that team attack that was DOPE AS HELL
Also I almost squealed when red like roses started playing but I do kinda wish that it kept playing throughout the fight like it stops while Jaune is speaking and restarts after the cats first strike just me?

This ending was perfect. My only complain with this episode was making Jaune young again. Also the young brothers were so cute.

You know, for as much as we criticize the writing and direction of the show and how CRWBY has seemingly done a questionable job handling certain characters, it's moments like this that give me hope. RWBY can still give us wonderful moments like this that reminds us of why we fell in love with this series to begin with. It also gives me a little more hope that Warner-Discovery doesn't give the ax to RT and killing off RWBY before it can reach a proper, half decent conclusion.

As much as I am happy that Ruby got her confidence back (it remains to be seen if she will be as happy and positive as she used to), now I am more confused than ever on why she thought wanted turn into someone else. While I personally never wanted her to turn into something different she said it so many times that I was convinced atleast something would change, like her making a new weapon or getting a new look.

It’s more realization. Ruby thought she should change as she wasn’t enough. But knowing her mother wasn’t perfect as she though bc she lied, and hearing her mother say how she loves her for who she it. She realizes she is enough as the blacksmith says

I was expecting an evolution of herself when coming back; maybe an upgraded semblance but I’m also okay with how they handled it too
Holy crap! Ruby became even more badass! Her fight style is like that in this trailer of her visiting her mom grave and she fighting the Beowulf. They’re making Ruby fighting even more badass, and seeing all the RWBY crew all ganged up and beating the crap out of Cat was awasome!

That whole final Attack sequence felt like the Sonic Heroes’ Super Sonic Attack.
Also that overall fight choreography was way smooth.
Still think Ruby kind of got over her funk a little quick, but I guess now she has her purpose back. Still wonder how she’s going to roll with the punches now.

Same. Lord knows my faith in CRWBY and RT has been waning for a few years now and they have definitely made some very questionable creative decisions. But moments like these definitely give me a little more hope for the future that things will get better.

I wonder what Ren, Nora and Oscar have been up to while team RWJBY (yes that was intentional because Jaune was with them) were stuck in the everafter.
Also I'm proud of Ruby, she fought her demons and discovered what she wanted to be without the help of the others.
There's one thing she has that the others don't, its being stubborn and having the iron will to keep going as the leader.
I loved this episode, it was amazing 🥰🥰 Their teamwork when fighting the cat, Ruby finding herself again, that moment when they became their colours and they all slayed the cat. How Neo graciously saying goodbye, them getting all the answers. You might never have liked Neo, but you got to admit she has style. Next volume in vacuo if it comes, I do hope so, I love these characters and I want to see the end of the story.
I'm gonna miss neo, she my favorite character, I hope we gonna see her again very soon . . . 😢

@@genericname4739 maybe even in what’s considered the big “final” confrontation, Neo fills in as a fourth to take out Cinder for good. Because at this point Cinder isn’t Ruby’s opponent, Salem is. Cinder’s REAL opponent is Jaune now, as far as I’m concerned, and Neo might just have a score to settle still once she “finds herself”.

I am absolutely blown away- it might be because the episode was just released but I think this might be the perfect episode of RWBY

This felt good. The characters, the feels, and especially the action. Since Volume 3, the fights just didn't feel like they were clicking. But that last one was utter perfection.
She came back with renewed resolve and with her badass style returned. Little, no, Somewhat? Amazing. This finale was wonderful.
Time to wait for the Vacuo arc.

Also I would be incredibly annoyed if Jaune went through everything he went through and the story decides to ignore all that character growth to just go back to status quo.

Judging from the ending the blacksmith when they are needed and at that time it showed atlas still floating. Probably it's for team rwby to change the near future. Probably won't stop Salem but will probably reduce her advantages.
Not sure how it will fix certain continuity like neo being absent from participating in Salem and cinder schemes

I actually would have liked to see the Cat being Ascended, especially seeing that at the beginning he was a really benevolent being. Who knows if Little will replace Curious Cat's role, or if it would be a new Cat.
