Hi Roger. This is the most complete Low-pass, high-pass RLC box I have ever seen. You should pack it, seal it, and sell it. Really, I am not kidding.

Hi Alex. THX for the compliments.
The versatility came during building this little beast.
I was surprised by myself how many combinations of R, L and C in parallel or serial connection you can get with only 2P2T-switches with center-position.
In fact I was contemplating if we would take this into our shop for commercial selling.
The problem is, that all components must be hand-soldered to the rotary-switches and the 2P2T-switches.
And that took me some hours...
Perhaps we will try it as a kickstarter project and see if enough people are interested.
Have to do the price-calculation and think of it...

You know, Roger, this RLC box is not for the average Joe, this box is way advanced for an average user. School, universities, technical people, etc., all of them including myself will love to have it. I understand perfectly all the time it took you to put it together, but you got the prototype working. Go for the kickstarter project, and I will be the first one to support you.

@@keithking1985 I was just thinking of going over to Big Clive's resistor box video and comment "well... have a look at THIS!" .... glad to hear someone else has already done it.

Wow! That is a soldering masterpiece &/or a soldering nightmare.... amazing piece of work.
I like the look of the trimpot version... I might make one of those sometime soon.

I would like to build one of those and I tried to get the documentation you so kindly provided, unfortunately it seems like the cert for kainkalabs web needs to be updated in order to get a secure connection.

Yes, the SSL certificate has expired and in the last 12 months I didn´t have time for anythnig, Nevertheless you can download the docs with e.g. the Chrome browser when you allow an exception. Better still if you wait for 6-8 weeks, you can download the full production files, a manual etc. from the Kickstarter campaign pages. I have (after a 12 months pause) continued the project in the last week. All parts are in production or already on the way to me. When the first are shipped, all files will be published and it will be available for buying in our online-shop. In the meantime all progress updates are also published on Kickstarter.

Novice here: AFIK Having a large air gap between components prevents them from interfering with each other, hence why you’ve hand soldered this.
However - Shouldn’t this matter only if the component trace / wires receiving power are next to each other? The design inherently prevents any frequency/ resonance issues because you’re only using one component at a time, no?

It might be the design task from hell but would a pcb design using surface mount devices work? A double sided load on a two layer pcb maybe. Once designed and optimised then manufacturing can be automated and you would have a great product. It would not have to be perfect. Get 80% of the way there and it would still be brilliant.

Probably one would need 2 PCBs because the rotary-switches have 2 layers (or is it levels?).
That could be feasible without too much manual rework.
