    This is really cool having Jim on your channel! I like the fact you are connected with the top guy at Jeep. He seems like he's a Jeep guy not just a marketing person. Great job!!! As long time Jeep owner and as somone who grew up on Jeep, great to see where they are going. My old man is an old AMC guy who was all in on Jeep.

    If Jeep wants sales, they should remake the XJ as original as possible with the new I6. There's a reason 3 million were sold and the model lasted from 1984 to 2014 (2002-2009 BDC) (2009-2014 BAW). The XJ is the only Jeep ever made with a model history as long and successful (Wrangler has had a plethora of iterations under one name). You make something as light and nimble as the XJ with the I6 Hurricanes power and torque, add in EV, which would do amazingly well with such a light Vehicle, and you've FINALLY got a worthy successor to the XJ legacy. (Sometimes two cents can get more than expected). And as always, fantastic video Brad!

    I have a 2002 Wrangler with the 4.0 i6, it is mint, and it literally only has 43,000 original miles on it. My family has owned it since it was new and only ever used it as a weekend warrior here and there. Sometimes not driving it for 8 months at a time. It is built with all the bells and whistles and lift etc. They gave it to me last year. I will be sticking with this one until it can't go any further. No payment, minimal tech, easy to work on, and new ones are so expensive I REFUSE to purchase one. Ever.

      Nice. I have an 84 CJ-7 with 47k miles. AMC 2.5 I4, 4-speed manual, base model with a radio and a heater. The paint is faded and it has a tiny bit of rust but it still runs great. We've owned it for half of the time it's been on this Earth and it was my first car. It only had 37k when we got it and had been parked for several years before we pulled it out of a garage. It then sat for a few more years before I got my driver's license and needed a car. It leaks various fluids and some things don't work but it's never outright broken down on me. I'm keeping it fairly stock with just minor mods for livability. I'll never sell it. It was a terrible daily driver so I got a more carlike car shortly after I started college but I keep my Jeep for cruises on nice days.

    I never understood why the didn't make the 5.7L Hemi an engine option in the Wrangler when it is a very common option in other vehicles such as the Jeep Grand Cherokee. There definitely needs to be a more powerful engine option that is more affordable than the one in the 392. My issue with the 4Xe is that it is not practical for extended trips "off the grid".

I understand the need to have a bigger screen (due to mall crawlers) in the 2024 jeep, BUT it took away from the design elements your Engineers incorporated when the JL rolled out in 2018. But can't complain too much, because as a YJ guy since 1995 (and still going strong) I couldn't believe how much the bar had been raised in the JL. Absolutely incredible Engineering and design. Love the channel. It’s interesting that even though MOST car/4x4 culture that I have seen rejects electric vehicle as a permanent solution for a vehicle, it doesn’t stop manufacturers from pushing it on consumers. On one hand we see people pass on electric vehicles in favor of the 392 for example (a vehicle that is unanimously loved by all) but then we’re told by the head of Jeep that they’re listening to their customers but continue to push hybrid/electric agenda.. seems to be conflicting messages here.

    • @jonathanh8174
      @jonathanh8174 Рік тому

      He was pretty clear that they have to comply with government mandates re: emissions, which more or less forces them and other automakers into electrification. So in that case they have to try to balance what customers really want along with the constraints put in place by government.

    • @horseactual7662
      @horseactual7662 Рік тому

      @@jonathanh8174 yea he did say it was because of the government, but stopped there. I feel like if an industry is being taken over by the government and it’s regulations and that industries consumer base is against the changes, maybe there should be an effort to fight back? I would like to see JEEP explore and hopefully implement a fully automatic air compressor system into the Wrangler for 2025 and beyond; one that uses dash board buttons to inflate and deflate the four tires with digital psi readings on the screen. Who wouldn't want it? Airing down and airing up is an absolute need for off-road trail riding. If JEEP can add this, it will be a game changer leaving the competition in their rear view mirror - and far back at that. It's already utilized in other larger vehicles. Space is the big issue. However, if it can be done, this, to me, would be an unparalleled upgrade feature.

It's not the actual idea of an electric vehicle, its the lack of ability to work on it yourself, to modify it how you want, and no infrastructure. Dear Brad, I am Gianpaolo, an Italian guy very fond of Wrangler. I have had an Unlimited Rubicon 2.8 crd jk. A fantastic vehicle but the Milan administration - the city where i live - decided the diesel engines are no longer allowed. A big bummer ! The jl is type approved here in Europe with a 2.0 liters turbo gasoline engine and that makes no sense at all for such a heavy vehicle. So I bent on the unique real Off Road well balanced for weight, Power and torque with a gasoline engine, the new jimny that here in Europe Is type approved only as light truck because of CO2 emission (Crazy Europe !). The other Off Road vehicles are equipped with diesel engines but no way to use them here in Milan. Anyway going to the point I think that if you want to hit the dirt for long ranges you cannot use an Electric Wrangler. So let me Say that real long and hard Off Road Need ICE with good torque at low RPM. Each type of vehicle needs a specific technology and Electric Is not for Off Road unless you live in Europe where Electric Is now a religion. My compliment for your job with Trail recon. You are the best !

    Super excited for the future with electric. As tech develops they are only going to get better and better. I love electric especially in terms of maintenance - no engine parts to deal with, no oil to change, no transmission to blow up. Instant power and torque. I love my YJ but electric vehicles are the future of cars for everyone. For a jeep I would prefer a plug in hybrid with 50mile range simply due to the charging infrastructure in remote places I visit. But for everywhere else I electric cars are great.

      At least a "50 mile range" 😉

      A little more range would sure help. Obviously everyone's daily commute is different, but I need a smidge more range to make the 4xe work for me.

      Electric vehicles aren't the future for everyone. You get out into some remote parts of this country and there is no infrastructure. Even in developed areas, EVs are severely impacted by hot or cold weather. They can't tow very far or carry heavy payloads. You can't carry spare charge. Mandating EVs is not the answer. Don't force it on people who it doesn't work for. You admit that PHEV is the better solution because there's no infrastructure in many places.

    Jim is making me nervous about the future of Jeep. It sounds like they wont be doing much for V8 options or 2 door options even though that's what is in demand. Electric options are okay but if they shift heavily towards electric, Jeep will see the biggest sales drop in such rapid time. With backlash from fans that will rival Budlight but not for the same reasons. The Scrambler concept needs to make production with a few minor changes making it more practical. A regular cab with a longer bed Gladiator is needed as well plus a 392 option. A retro Cherokee would be a hot seller too. Tim is not listening to the Jeep community. I also think Jeep should get into the ATV and side by side market as well. There are some nice concepts at this event and some are not far from being a realistic production option but we rarely see any make production.

    I watched the NYC debut and then watched it 2 more times, he said 37" bead locks from the factory that must be only oh the Rubicon X 392......you can tell Jim Morrison but have to say this my brother-in-law was over the maintenance at the tech center (and me GM-UAW worker), when I was there it was about 80% complete, there were building the Dodge Ram in there, well we went into the design studios first was inferior and then exterior at that time JEEP had the square headlights well they had a round headlight fascia grille, but we got caught finally they were doing a commercial ad, I've had several Jeeps and have a "51 Willys/Jeep CJ3a, I would like to see a Gladiator 392 Ruibicon
