Your videos especially about Lisbon are one of the best entertainment in YT for me. This video was so funny and you were also natural and relaxed. It was satisfying to see how you can actually enjoy the city without aparting all of you cash. Well done guys!
Little information that may be of use for people watching this: Estufa Fria is free on Sundays and Holydays till 14:00, you can save those € for another Bica :)
Hey guys!! Well i must say i had never seen your channel, but it was very funny and love the idea. Just so you know i m the guy how shows up at the start of the Video selling you the boat tickets ^^ And i lived in Almada (where Cacilhas is, btw, disclaimer xP, that side is no longer Lisboa) most of my life, so i can tell you thst you picked a great route to show ^^ i can also add that if you wanted i could give a direction, very easy o reach further inside that city with a grest park to visit ^^ So nice work cheers.
Great and cheap thing to do is take a picnic over to Cacilhas and watch the sunset even if you're not on a budget...We did it regularly when we lived in Lisbon! Food at Ponto Final not bad for a touristy spot, but it's true I think the view makes it taste better!! Careful how much you drink...
Well, it's a tough truth, but you may well be a (small but significant) part of the reason things are getting crazy expensive in Lisbon. All the wonderful publicity about Portugal in the last few years saw a big influx of big spenders (compared to the locals), and prices are adjusting too, besides the overall inflation. And i wont even mention housing, that borders on national calamity, these days.
this is a great video you guys have smashed the right taticts in the morning get the bica followed with a glass of water ; for lunch get a bifana or even if people want a cheap heavy meal and a snack later you can find places that offer menu meals.
OMG!!! this brought back memories when I was at the Universidade de Lisboa in 1990 and my money transfer took 5 days instead of two. I had to go on a strict budget!!! Bread and cheese, bicca and water. But I had a blast :) Glad to see you had fun!!
My grand father was a crew member on one of those submarines. There were 3 submarines form the Delfim Class (1934-1950), bought to the UK, to incorporate the 2nd Submarine Squadron. The NRP Delfim (1934), NRP Espadarte (1935) and NRP Golfinho (1935), and the NRP Albacora (S163), that was the first submarine of four to incorporate the 4th Submarine Squadron of the Portuguese Navy, having entered service on October 1st, 1967.
We were in Lisbon last month! The first thing we ate there was pastel de bacalhau on rue Augustus and it was expensive (€5 for one). We felt we were ripped off but we were hungry. We didn’t buy the beer that they sell with it (€7 more!!). €15 per person in Lisbon is not realistic but it is entertaining watching you guys being poor 😅
Absolutely agree! We thought food in Portugal is cheap and affordable (we watched a lot of UA-cam videos before we went) but €5 for a piece of this is outrageous!
The pastel de bacalhau is traditional, but pastel the bacalhau with cheese is not. This chain of shops started this trend about 6 years ago. They used to falsely advertise that the shops dated back from more than 100 years ago and they still advertise that they sell traditional food. Beware of these tourists traps! You can buy tasty pastéis de bacalhau everywhere for 1, 40 Euros.
Absolute a tourist trap! Portugal is really very cheap! I was last month! Beer for 7 Euro?? Normally a cost in a restaurant mostly in a Bar or restaurant between 2 and 3 Euro Pastel de Nata tastes so much better than Pastel de Bacalhau… also Pastel de Bacalhau on many places much cheaper than you paid Bacalhau is a speciality in Portugal. You get them often as main dish. For a main dish in a good restaurant, not tourist trap, you pay mostly between 8 and 15 Euro.. good quality for a very good price
When I go to Europe from the US to work remote, my food budget is 10 Euros per day. I only eat one meal and it is usually street food. I walk about 6-8 miles a day in whatever city I am in. When I get home after 30 days, I have lost about 5 kilos, my joints no longer hurt (reduced inflammation from not eating so much) and I feel 20 years younger. Then, after getting home, I fall back into all my bad habits and gain all the weight back. 😞
I am thrilled to see you doing this kind of video because people now a days have less money... not more =9 BTW, what app was that you used for the wine rating?
Lisbon is starting to have that capital tax. Have you guys been to parque das nacoes? you should have a look, it will be fun to take Lara too. Make sure you have confortable trainers for walking.
I can’t wait to see all the great street performers in Lisbon! I’ll remember to have money to pay them. It’s not so much of a thing where I live in California. Funny/tragic, but I have a few pictures of that submarine in Copenhagen. 😱
Temos alguma plantação de café nos Açores , sim !... Mas de facto , é pouca ... Contudo , os Cafés D3lta são uma especialidade de Selecção e Torrefação Portuguesa !...
Here are some Portuguese hacks to keep your budget low: 1. stay with relatives 2.use their things 3. have people drive you around for free 4. only eat at home Fun is not included in this package .

Not that you can see it (even if I could see it I would not dare to say so :') ) but I noticed she has been declining drinking wine all the time, so I am suspicious. :') On topic: Have you guys ever made a video of Pasteis de Belem? (maybe a good video " The search for the best pastel in Lisbon" ) Or Cervejaria Ramiro? Anyways, another great video, you guys are starting to be my guilty pleasure. When I feel saudades of my beautiful country ( I visit 5 times a year, but still not enough) and I watch your videos is like I am there. I love your passion for my country.

Wow, I really enjoyed this video. This was spot on. And, nothing wrong drinking cheap wine, you buy whatever you can afford. Thanks for the video.
This is one of my favorite videos from you guys! Great job on the editing! Love the Coco Channel quote, Amalie!

Cacilhas is a super nice place for a sunset adventure :)
We locals survive by making dinner at home.. a good chunk eats out for lunch a "diária" at some snack bar.
Dinner at home is often times the best food you can get! Especially if you are in a relationship with Amalie! :D
❤❤
Please do the same in Porto! 😊
Will do! :)

You should have gone to 100 montaditos or Pizza á fatia near the timeout market park. Very cheap there

This is a tourist trap! Not traditional at all. It's a chain that began about 5 or 6 years ago and unfortunately, it's a magnet for tourists.
